Archie: No one was in the bedroom either because, properly speaking, a corpse is not a someone.
Wolfe: Did he kill her, or was that your personal errand yesterday?
Wolfe: Archie, don't try to think. You'll injure yourself.
Fritz: I'm trying to seek a common ground.
Wolfe: With anchovies, there is no common ground!
Archie: Wolfe's only comment was -
Wolfe: (horrified)...You... you've had no lunch? None at all? Nothing?
Archie: Have you turned Orrie loose yet?
Inspector Cramer: No, not yet, and not soon. Unless you can give me a damn good reason. Can you?
Archie: Sure! Mr Wolfe is going to look into it.
Archie: You want motive? Well then it's Mrs Ballou because she is really a hell cat just boiling with jealousy but if that's the case then I'm a sap and you should fire me!
Wolfe:I'll consider it.
Wolfe: Confound it! It's nearly dinner and I will not be able to digest properly with the prospect of some chorus woman up there (with the orchids) prancing about making careless sweeping gestures with her arms.
Archie: If only the world knew how you suffered.
Archie: She kept a diary. Even so, I doubt her last entry was,"he is reaching for an ashtray and he's going to hit me over the head with it".
This episode is based on Rex Stout's 1966 novel of the same name.
