    Character Guide

    Manny Rivera/El Tigre

For the most part, Manny Rivera is a well-meaning kid with the energy and the spirit of a hero. But Manny is no goody-two-shoes. He's also got some serious supervillian potential. When he spins his mystical belt buckle, Manny transforms into the brave and powerful El Tigre, who struggles with whether to use his superpowers for good or evil.

    Frida Faurez

Frida is Manny's best friend. But she's not always the best influence on Manny. She always has his back when he's in trouble, but she is usually the one who gets him into it. Frida is up for just about anything, the superpower stuff doesn't phase her.

    Rodolfo Rivera/White Pantera

Manny's father Rodolfo is a good old-fashioned dad, complete with rules and orders that Manny doesn't always follow. He is also a semi-retired super-hero known as the White Pantera.

    Grandpapi Rivera/Puma Loco

Manny's Grandpapi is the nicest old man out there. But he is also evil to the core, and wants Manny to be the same way. He is a retired super-villian known as Puma Loco. To describe his relationship with his son (Manny's super-hero father) it would be: love/hate.moreless

"Superman" was an animated series that premiered on September 6, 1996. Created to follow the success of "Batman: The Animated Series," and based on the popular Superman comics created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the cartoon series focused on the adventures of Superman, an incredibly powerful crime fighter from the planet Krypton, who defends Metropolis from a variety of supercriminals that include Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Metallo, The Parasite, Livewire, The Toyman, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Bizarro, Darkseid, Lobo, Jax-Ur, and Mala. Superman's secret identity is that of Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter for the newspaper "The Daily Planet". There he worked with fellow reporter Lois Lane and photographer Jimmy Olsen.

The series opened with an hour and a half long special that featured the exploits of Superman's Kryptonian father, Jor-El, who was attempting to save their planet from a world-wide catastrophe which the planet's artificial intelligence system, Brainiac, was trying to cover up, and continued through Superman's first public appearance in Metropolis. In later seasons, the show featured guest appearances by a variety of other famous comic book heroes including Supergirl, Batman, Robin, The Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, Dr. Fate, Steel, and The New Gods. In 1997, episodes of "Superman" were broadcast alongside episodes of "The New Batman Adventures" and reruns of "Batman: the Animated Series" under the title "The New Batman/Superman Adventures".moreless

Jonny Quest: The Real Adventures is based on the series from the sixties (this series is now known as Classic Jonny Quest) and the series from the eighties (known as The New Adventures of Jonny Quest. The series from the sixties was created by Doug Wildey and produced by Hanna-Barbera, Inc. The New Adventures of Jonny Quest were created to complete the fourth half-hour of the syndicated Sunday line-up, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. In Jonny Quest: The Real Adventures Jessie Bannon, the daughter of Race, appears for the first time and she takes an important role in this series. The Story 14-year-old Jonny Quest invariably finds adventure in exotic locations around the world with his father, renowned scientist/explorer Dr Benton Quest. They are accompanied by Benton's adopted son and assistant, Hadji; Dr Quest's personal bodyguard, Race Bannon; and Jessie Bannon, Race's teenage daughter. And, of course, Jonny's faithful dog Bandit. One more exotic locale has been added to the travelogue - QuestWorld, a virtual-reality system invented by Benton Quest. Questworld is employed in recreating imaginary or otherwise inaccessible environments. The Questworld system has since been expanded by his son, Hadji and Jessie to include recreational uses as well. In the course of their adventures, the Quest team runs into resistance from a number of sources, ranging from former KGB operatives to their own government to the forces of nature herself. They also receive help from fellow seekers after knowledge, and sometimes from unexpected sources - such as a renegade nuclear submarine captain who targets whaling boats. Jonathan "Jonny" Quest Jonny is extremely curious and loves action. Whenever he is on a journey, he uses his wits to escape from trouble. He has a well-developed sense of responsibility, although he tends to be impatient and even reckless. Very loyal, campassionate, and adventurous, Jonny always puts others before himself. Hadji Quest-Singh Adopted by Dr. Quest, he is also his assistant. The mature and intelligible boy accompanies his mentor on all of his scientific excursions. Specializing in computer programming and general electronic know-how, and is an able backup for any situation. He seems to have a slight problem with heights. Jessica Margaret Leya "Jessie" Bannon She has learned a lot from his father to become intelligent and resourceful. She has a special inclination towards computers and communications equipment, which she manipulates with ease. Her eagerness to participate in and sometimes initiate the Quest team's often rigorous activities does not in any way diminish her femininity. Roger T. "Race" Bannon He used to be a government agent and is now Dr. Quest's bodyguard and Operations Manager. The father of Jesse, he is experienced with piloting any vehicle and has a large knowledge of weapons and security. Benton C. Quest The doctor is a world-renowned phenomenologist, archaeologist, scientist and explorer whose daily commute ranges from 2 to 2000 miles. The Adventures of TinTin

    Follow
    (ended 1993)
Welcome to The Adventures of Tintin guide at TV.com. This animated series is based on the Belgium comic of Georges Remi, better known as Hergé. For 75 years the comics are very popular in Europe. In 1991 Nelvana Studios decided to create an animation series about the reporter. The movies that were made so far, were very disappointing but the series became a big success. About the show The show is about the young reporter Tintin and his dog Snowy. For some reason, everywhere he goes, Tintin is always getting into trouble. He's traveling all over the world and whenever it gets messy, Tintin can count on his loyal friends; like Captain Haddock, General Alcazar and the young Chinese boy Chang. About the characters Tintin is the main character of the seires, he is a reporter, with a taste for adventure, he is clever and many times has narrowly avoided death, only to quickly run back into danger. Through doing this he has brought many criminals to justice, stopped many crime rings and saved his friends lives many times. Snowy is Tintin's dog. He is very good at sniffing out enemies, chewing through ropes tying up his master, and scaring gorillas with a single bark. He has saved Tintin many times over. Captain Haddock is an alcoholic, he loves Loch Lomond whisky and is often drinking it despite being president of the S.S.S. (Society of Sober Sailors). He is often dragged into adventures that he does not wish to go on, but once on them he is courageos, especially when he gets mad and an array of bizzare insults can be found flying from his mouth. Professor Cuthbert Calculus is a sheer genius, despite being almost completely deaf, or as he puts it "just a little hard of hearing." He seems only to properly hear the phrase "stop acting the goat" wich enrages him beyond compare. His devices have been what got Tintin into many adventures and what got him out of many adventures alive. Thomson (curly moustache) and Thompson (strait moustache) are a couple of buglung idiot detectives, despite being so stupid they are among the most fun characters to watch about because of the idiotic stunts. I guess that's just what happens when your motto is "dumb's the word." Bianca Castafiore, A.K.A. the "Milanese Nightingale, is a powerful opera singer, in the sence that whenever the Captain hears her sing it reminds him of a hurricane that hit his ship in the West Indies. Despite her many appearances singing she is only heard to sing "The Jewel Song From Faust" in all of the adventures. Chang is a young Chinese boy who Tintin rescued from a flood which claimed his parents. Chang was later adopted into the family of an old Chinese man who helps Tintin stop a drug ring in "The Blue Lotus." Tintin rescues Chang again in "Tintin in Tibet" where Chang is trapped in the Tibetan mountains being cared for by a yeti. General Alcazar is the part time president/dictator of the republic of San Theodores, the other time he is rebelling to gain back that power from General Tapioca. Eventually Alcazar becomes a knife thrower on the music hall stage under the name of Ramon Zarate. Rastapopolus is prime evil, and he'll tell you himself if you give him a needle of special truth serum. He seems to be the leader of every crime organization in the Tintin books, he smuggles everything from opium to slaves, and even kidnapped a millionaire and held him to his own ransom. Needless to say Tintin foils al of Rastapopolus's plans. Rastapopolus is also known as "The Marquis di Gorgonzola". Nestor is the Captain's dedicated butler, who has more than his hands full taking care of Captan Haddock's house. He was once butler to the notorious Bird brothers, of whoms plans he did not participate, he was simply their butler.moreless

    Nickelodeon (ended 2009)
While most kids think their own problems are the end of the world, there's one girl whose problems really are the end of the world. My Life as a Teenage Robot is the story of Jenny, a super-powered robot with a super-sensitive teenage heart. Her primary function is to protect the planet from certain disaster, but, like all teenagers, she has her own ideas about how she would like to live. Defending the Earth has become a mundane chore, and she would rather do more exciting things like go to high school and be allowed to drive the family car. My Life as a Teenage Robot, a spin-off from Nickelodeon's hit Oh Yeah! Cartoons (under the name My Neighbor Has A Teenage Robot), was created by Rob Renzetti and is executive produced by Renzetti and Fred Seibert. This show is the third of three spinoffs of Oh Yeah! Cartoons, the others being ChalkZone and Fairly OddParents. Characters: Global Robotic Response Unit XJ9, aka Jenny Wakeman - XJ9 is just like any other robot designed to defend the planet. She's powerful, confident, clever, brave...oh yeah, and she's gotta be home by 9! Jenny, as XJ9 likes to be called, is spunky, dramatic and prone to major mood swings (sound familiar?). She's also obsessed with pop stars, teen magazines and fitting in with the cool kids. Just like a regular teenager, right? Well, yeah...if regular teenagers were 6 feet tall and made of metal! XJ9's creator (a.k.a. mom) is constantly reminding her of her planetary responsibilities, but Jenny's tired of saving the world and just wants to hang out with her friends. What's a teenage robot to do? Bradley "Brad" Carbunkle - Brad is the boy next door. He's Jenny's closest neighbor and her best friend. Brad's not really interested in the stuff his friends at school are into, and wishes he were more like Jenny. He loves a good adventure and he's dying for a chance to explore the world outside high school. To Jenny, Brad's the reference point to all things "teenaged." He's the gatekeeper of "cool." Only Brad gets bored talking about all that lame teenager stuff and jumps at every chance to get in on Jenny's universe-saving superhero action. Guess the grass really IS greener on the other side of the fence... Tucker "Tuck" Carbunkle - Unlike his older brother Brad, Tuck is suspicious of the unknown and likes to be surrounded by familiar things and faces. He has a whole assortment of hidden fears and anxieties (let's just say he's not a fan of ferris wheels!) At first, Tuck was terrified of Jenny too, but after an unplanned tag-along on a meteor-blasting mission he's become her biggest fan. Well, next to Brad. Despite his fears, Tuck insists on going along on Jenny and Brad's adventures. Though being the typical trouble-making little brother he is, he usually ends up doing more damage than good. Mrs. Norene "Nora" Wakeman - Mrs. Wakeman had been struggling for years to rid the world of evil through the use of her inventions. And then, in a moment of brilliance, she created: XJ9 (a.k.a. Jenny). More mad scientist than understanding mom, Mrs. Wakeman can teach Jenny to battle almost anything that comes her way, but she's not so hot at talking about teenage stuff like clothes and boys. Mrs. Wakeman just doesn't get why Jenny would rather go to the fair than defend the Earth. But isn't having a mom who doesn't understand you, like, Rule #1 for being a teenager? Brittany and Tiffany Crust - Brit and Tiff sit securely on the top of the social hierarchy at school. Brit is the master of the putdown, and Tiff can intimidate anyone in school. All the world domination-plotting super-villians on the planet don't even come close to wielding the power these two cliqueish cousins hold in their hands, and no one is more aware of that than Jenny. But Jenny's arrival on the scene throws this tyranical twosome for a loop. Her physical power makes Tiff's intimidation impossible, and the curiosity she generates threatens Brit's center-of-attention status. Suddenly, Jenny is Brit and Tiff's public enemy number one! Unfortunately, the one thing Jenny's superpowers can't stop is her own desire to be popular! Sheldon Lee - Even though he knows he's pretty low down on the totem-poll of popularity, Sheldon is satisfied as a budding engineer and a comic book fan. And if that makes him a geek, so be it! He's quite content to spend his time perfecting mechanical projects and pouring over comics. Until he meets Jenny, that is. Jenny's the perfect combination of superhero and suped-up machine, and Sheldon falls for her-fast! He's constantly giving her gizmos and gadgets as gifts, but they never seem to do the trick. Alas, unfortunately for Sheldon, Jenny's fine with being his friend, but the thought of dating him hurts her brainwaves.moreless

Here, the insecure Ickis, the stinky-armpitted Krumm, and the candycane-shaped Oblina deal with issues like how to best scare supermarket shoppers, where to hide under the bed, and what to do with your eyeballs when you're not holding them in your mouth (here's a hint: juggle them).

All of this goes on under the watchful eyes of their teacher, the fearful Gromble. While these walking nightmares always find new ways to get into trouble, they survive their adventures by sticking together, sometimes literally!
