Michael Palin: New Europe
BBCMichael Palin: New Europe is the BBC travel series where Monty Python alum Michael Palin takes us along with him on his globe-trotting adventures. Michael's travels in New Europe show a world that has changed greatly since the collapse of the Iron Curtain and the end of the Cold War. Most of the perception of Europe focuses on Western Europe, forgetting that the countries in Eastern Europe are new to the western world. They are new nations with new governments trying to find their place in the post-Soviet world. Michael journeys on a voyage of discovery in places that were once forbidden, enjoying the new freedom to roam unhindered of places in his own continent which he previously couldn't visit. The series had seven episodes where Palin visits 20 countries, seeing places like Moldova, Estonia, Slovakia, Serbia, Albania, the Republic of Macedonia, and Herzegovina. Michael Palin: Himalaya

Michael has traveled through many countries in his travelogue series, and this is one of the most beautiful. He journeys through Afghanistan, through India and to the region known as the Death Zone near Everest's base. Michael traveled 3,000 miles through the Himalaya mountain range, trekking up several of the mountains. The highest point on the journey goes all the way up to Everest Base Camp, an altitude of 17,500 feet. He also journeys to locations like the Bhutanese capital, the Tiger Leaping Gorge, and the Bay of Bengal.
