Welcome to The Wild House guide at TV.com. Smart and cute serialized children's series, set in the home of the crazy Wild family: parents and three precocious children. Taking center-stage is Natalie, a clever and articulate 13-year-old making the transition from childish concerns to teenage woes - worrying about clothes, boyfriends and all that. With his obsession about wildlife, Natalie's ten-year-old brother Arthur (nicknamed 'Wart') seems intent on becoming the next David Attenborough; sister Serena, 16, just wants a boyfriend. Mum and Dad have (in the stories) less to do than their offspring but, at various times, all of the Wilds (even the dog) speak directly to the camera, commenting upon their lives while random dream-like images are projected behind them. By the start of the second series Serena has left for Boston on a science scholarship, and several episodes later Mum and Dad join her in the USA, leaving the rest of the clan to be looked after by aunts, uncles and a granny. Cousin Georgina, a feisty 16-year-old, also moves in. In the finale, the rest of the Wild clan prepared to move Stateside.moreless

Out of the Blue (UK) was a hard-hitting BBC police drama set and filmed in Sheffield. It was described by series script editor, Claire Elliot as "contemporary, gritty, urban reality". Shot on film, its tight script, fast-paced direction and strong cast made for powerful and compulsive viewing. Out of the Blue follows a team of detectives at Brazen Gate CID through grisly murder cases, clashes with an already-divided community and through the dramas of their personal lives. Ambitious DS Frankie Drinkall's life is turned upside down when he is diagnosed with epilepsy. His refusal to accept his condition leads him into a downward spiral and ultimately to his demise. DS Rebecca Bennett gives the series an ever-present emotional charge as she finds herself the subject of both PC Alex Holder's and DC Warren Allen's affections – and there are some classic comedy moments as the impetuous DC Marty Brazil. The second season sees the arrival of troubled DS Jim Llewyn, who seems to be working to his own agenda.moreless

George Cole plays the archetypal dad of the title, blissfully unaware of how easily he can drive his son, Alan, to distraction. Alan, in turn, desperately wants to communicate with his own son, Vincent-and he is determined that Vincent doesn't suffer the same childhood embarrasments he remembers so vividly. But his attempts, although well-meant, often end in disaster. In the midst of it all Alan's wife, Beryl, keeps the peace, tends the wounds and tries (usually unsuccessfully) to inject some sanity into the proceedings.

During the show's first season it aired on Thursday evenings at 8:30pm, however for its second season, the show moved to Monday evenings at the same time.

Dad was midly successful and enjoyed a 2 season run on BBC One.moreless

A hilarious show about impressions from the world of Scottish football, broadcast every new year's eve at 11.15pm, part of BBC 1 Scotland's run up to the New Year bells. I am not entirely sure of the year this was first broadcast (I think it was before my estimation) and I think it used to be on reguarly. It now appears as a 5 minute filler entitled "Only A Wee Excuse?" during the season of football, on Tam Cowan's "Offside," a comedy talk show, broadcast on BBC Scotland (normally on a Monday Night at around 10.30pm although this may vary) but it still has its half hour run out on Hogmanay.moreless
