Top Of The Pops Saturday originally broadcast from 11.15pm till 12.00pm as part of The Saturday Show, transmitted live from the studio to rival CiTV's CD:UK. Presented by The Saturday Show presenters Fearne Cotton and Simon Grant. In 2003, The Saturday Show took a break for Dick and Dom in the Bungalow. But the TOTPS part of the show had very high ratings so in September 2003, Fearne Cotton moved to the Star Bar at Top of the Pops Studio to present the spin off show by herself with an extra quarter of an hour taking the final part of what should be the bungalow. In August 2004 with Fearne on holiday, Top of the Pops presenter, Tim Kash filled in and was the next week replaced by Sam and Mark. Sam and Mark were finalists from Pop Idol and proved popular with the show so became permanent presenters along with Fearne. May 2005 saw the show come to an end.moreless

This guide covers the 5 minute Newsround bulletin that airs on CBBC2 at 7.25am Monday through to Friday and the main 10 minute 5.05pm bulletin on CBBC1 from Monday to Friday. The CBBC bulletins have their own seperate guide. John Craven's Newsround started on 4th April 1972, with just two typewriters and three people based in the corner of the BBC's foreign news room. Primarily anchored by John for 17 years, on the 22nd June 1989 John hosted his last ever Newsround. Since then the main show has seen a cycle of different presenting and reporting teams, in October of 2008 the presenting team was condensed to two main hosts, Sonali Gudka (previously Breakfast Co-Anchor) and Ore Oduba, who acts as deputy. The breakfast bulletins began airing on CBBC2's breakfast show in 2003, all bulletins since the 2008 cast reshuffle are presented by Ore, if he's unavailable Sonali fills in. Reporters currently on the show are Ricky Boleto who is based in Manchester and Hayley Cutts and Leah Gooding who are based in London. The cast are credited by their main role to the show, however may appear as reporters in a later show. The show itself presents the days main headlines in a way that relates more to children. It's popularity has spawned many short-lived spin-off series and additional broadcasts on the CBBC Channel (these episodes are included within the Newsround(CBBC) TV.com guide) The set has been updated on many occasions, as has the shows theme tune and titles, the most recent has been in place since 29th September 2008.moreless

Image hosted by Photobucket.com This ten episode program was based on ten short stories written by Agatha Christie but with wide-ranging themes. Some were romances, several had supernatural themes, and a couple were youthful adventures. They were set in the England of the nineteen twenties and thirties, and much care was taken to present them as authentically as possible, with great attention to detail. Their common link was that all came from the talented pen of Agatha Christie, all were entertaining, and each program was carefully crafted and well cast, with many of the best of Britain's actors represented.moreless

The Imaginatively Titled Punt and Dennis show featured Steve Punt and Hugh Dennis in a vast array of studio gags, filmed sketches and parodies of famous TV dramas such as the X-Files, Baywatch and ER. Each show would focus on a theme, be it crime, holidays, sports etc. and would have amusing insights into each subject which carried on into most parts of the show. The show sported an array of characters (mostly performed by Hugh Dennis) who would appear in either their own sketches, or would regularly turn up without warning in the studio, the filmed sketches and even the drama parodies. Characters Kurt Wenker German tourist from hell who was always out to steal 'puny British boys' girlfriends. Right Hon. Hector Sleazy MP Scandal-riddled member of parliament who gave long non-sensical speeches and constantly insisted he wouldn't be resigning. Norris the Weatherman Habitual criminal assigned to the BBC as a part of a reformation scheme by the govenrment. Each week Norris tells the weather with a quick summery of how to make the most of the current weather to commit a crime. The Milk Man A man with a 101 uses for milk and most of them disgusting. Michael and Tarkwin Hosts of a TV wine programme. One slight problem with this is that Michael is a raving alcoholic. The Horse Jockey's Two tiny horse jokey's with high pitched voices. Tony Shannon and Ian Pie News anchors that never get past the part where they introduce themselves. The Gullibles Always falling for scams. "Black holes and Quasars" ...Watt On Earth was a short lived children's series as part of 'Children's BBC' and written by the 'Doctor Who' writers Jane & Pip Baker. The show starred 'Watt' (Garth Napier Jones) as an alien who came to earth to escape his evil uncle. Watt was heir to the throne on his planet and his uncle even sent his top henchman 'Jemjemah' to follow Watt to earth and terminate him. Watt landed in the English town on Haxton and be-friended 'Shaun Ruddock' (Tom Brodie) who managed to keep Watt's presence in the house a secret throughout the whole shows run. Shaun's parents ran the local newspaper the Haxton weekly and think their son is a bit of a oddball. Watt was over 300 years of age but in his human form looked early 20's. He also hadn't mastered his alien powers for starters he had back to front ears (Series 1) and upon his return to Haxton (Series 2) failed again this time the ears came out Green. He also had to ability to transanimateobjectify?? = turn himself into animate objects, but he could never get it right Eg, A clock that ran back-wards or square golf ball. That's what drove the comedy along his odd tastes in earth food. Eg Ketchup and corn flakes or Dog food and whipped cream on toast. The show ran for 2 series of 12 episodes and has always remained in my head. I had about 20 of the episodes on tape for donkeys years but wiped them several years back. Therefore Ive done a few web searches but a lot of this information is from memory so I deserve points for that don't I LOL...moreless

Her assistants are Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, who play the part of inept, star-struck assistants. Saunders and Lumley are also successful comedians in their own right during this series. The first episode features an interview with Zsa-Zsa Gabor. Saunders appears pregnant and attempts to serve coffee to Gabor and Wax, while trying not to stare at Gabor. Sister Wendy's Grand Tour is a about a woman named Sister Wendy Beckett who lives in a Carmelite monastery in Norfolk, England, and loves and appreciates art. Following the success of the TV series Sister Wendy's Odyssey and the book of the same name, PBS began broadcasting Sister Wendy's Grand Tour. The show was about how she travels through 10 of Europe's great cities looking at its finest and most artistic arts. Throughout Europe she sees Goya in Madrid, Donatello in Florence, Van Gogh in Amsterdam, and several more famous artists. For some paintings and sculptures, she describes why the artist made it and what they used to create it. Most of the artwork she looks at are breathtaking and is almost hard to take your eyes from. Throughout all her description, she doesn't tell why it's good or bad, but tells why she loves it. This show was purely made because of Wendy's love for art. This is an enchanting art-loving show.moreless
