Britain's Missing Top Model was a British reality modelling show aired on BBC Three which was aimed at disabled women, with the premise of bringing disability into the mainstream modelling world. The première episode aired on 1 July 2008. The show followed eight young women with disabilities, average looking girls who would not have become top models had they been able-bodied, as they competed for a modelling contract (which includes a photo shoot with Rankin and a cover photo in Marie Claire). Aired over a period of five weeks the girls lived together and competed in a series of challenges and photo shoots. Each week at least one contestant was sent home. The eventual winner was Kelly Knox, who was born without a left forearm. Popular girls include Lilli Risner, Sophie Morgan, Jenny Johnson and Jessica Kelgren-Hayes. Debbie Van Der Putten is the only girl to become a successful model since the show aired in 2008. The show has now aired in the U.S.A, Canada and through Europe.moreless
