Top Chef Masters is the first of the Top Chef spin-offs. The series is produced by the Emmy Award-winning Magical Elves with Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz who serve as executive producers.

Season Four: The show relocates to Las Vegas, and the challenges will no doubt reflect the glitzy new atmosphere. Twelve chefs, some repeaters from seasons one and two, compete for cash prizes that will be donated to their selected charities. Each round has $15,000 up for grabs from Quickfire and Elimination challenges. The chefs compete singly or in teams for a spot in the final and a shot at the $100,000 grand prize with its Top Chef Master title. Season Three: Season three hits the grill with a sizzle and some major changes. The competition has been retooled so that it is closer to the mother ship in format, has a smaller group of chefs and the resident critics have been pared down to two. What has not changed are the chefs at the top of their games, unique challenges, and a star-studded guest critic list. 12 master chefs compete in Quickfire and Elimination challenges as each one vies for the title of Top Chef Master and $100,000 for his or her charity. This season's challenges will use some of the Top Chef favorites, only with master twists to match these chefs' superior skills. Curtis Stone joins as host, and food critic and author Ruth Reichl begins her tour as judge with James Oseland, who returns from seasons one and two. A Magical Elves production.

Season Two: Season two has arrived, and not content to sit on their laurels, Magical Elves has cooked up new Challenges, Quickfires and intense pressures for the chefs, as well as allowed some familiar faces back into the kitchen. This time around there are only 22 chefs, and the heats will play out over four weeks, instead of six. The two chefs with the highest star scores from each heat will move to the six-week champions round from which the Top Chef Master will be named. Kelly Choi continues her duties as host. Gail Simmons joins the judges' panel full time; her skills burnishing an already stellar group comprising food critic Jay Rayner, culinary expert James Oseland and restaurant critic Gael Greene.

Season One: Twenty-four master chefs at the pinnacle of their professions play for $100,000 awarded to the winner's favorite charity, and the title of Top Chef Master. Let the judges be judged. The first of Magical Elves' Top Chef franchise shows hits the airwaves this summer, and while it may seem very similar to the original, the differences will test these executive chefs in very different ways. During the first six weeks of competition, groups of four will vie in heats with the winner moving forward to the four week champions round. Each night has two parts, an amped twist on a previous Top Chef Quickfire challenge that measures basic skill sets, and then an elimination that tests ingenuity and creativity as the chefs attempt to please both the diners and judges in order to progress to the finals. Kelly Choi hosts this competition tailor-made for foodies with a panel of respected judges, and guest stars that range from the real thing to personalities from Bravo's other reality series including Top Chef judges and contestants.moreless

The Awful Truth, hosted by Michael Moore, featured short documentaries making political points in a humorous way. When an HMO refused to pay for a man's life-saving kidney replacement, Moore had the man invite them to his mock-funeral. When Ken Starr began investigating all of Clinton's past, Moore hired shrieking pilgrims with pitchforks and torches to follow him, claiming he had a cheaper way to conduct a witchhunt. Noting that some states still criminalized sodomy, Moore drove a Sodomobile to all of them. And so on.moreless

"This just in..." "A dynamic cast brings headline information fast and first, interrupting the normal broadcast with Breaking News." "Personal trials collide with professional challenges as reporters, anchors, producers and staff strive to assemble the story amid an often chaotic 24-hour television network newsroom. But how far will the media go to get an "exclusive"? Faced with questionable sources and ethical ambiguities, the news team uncovers startling, disturbing and poignant truths while struggling to maintain journalistic integrity." (press release) Meet the Behind-the-Scenes Team Peter Kozyck (Brown), News Division President: "He is a smart over-achiever with great news instincts. Never married and Gatsby-esque in character, he is convinced he didn't get into Princeton and was forced to go to Villanova because he did not have the proper pedigree. He still feels the need to overcompensate for this middle-class background, believing that acting the part of the social elite means buying designer clothes, over-priced cars and weekend homes in the country." Rachel Glass (Walter), Executive Producer: "She has a hard time accepting the fact that everyone cannot do their jobs as well as she does hers. She doesn't do anything simply to enjoy it. If she takes a walk in the park, it is not to take advantage of a beautiful day, it's to work off the ice cream she scoffed down after realizing it is well past dinner and she hasn't had a bite to eat all day. She hasn't had time to think about having a personal life, with the exception of a few unsuccessful dates here and there, because she's too busy managing the latest news crisis--not exactly what her New York Upper East Side Jewish mother and father had in mind." Ethan Barnes (Bairstow), Producer: "the son of the network president and CEO, whose background as a documentary filmmaker won him accolades on the festival circuit. Looking for stability and a place to hone his skills and talent, he lands a job as a producer at the network by answering a help-wanted ad. After submitting his resume, he learns the blind ad is for a job at his father's network." Quentin Druzinski (Gale), Producer: "Rachel Glass's right-hand man, who goes out of his way to impress Peter and Rachel. He becomes a bit unnerved when his superiors don't recognize his talent as a producer. Anxiously awaiting a promotion, he gets bumped back when Ethan Barnes joins the network." Julian Kerbis (Adelstein), Field Producer: "Jamie Templeton's field producer and personal partner. Kerbis loves the thrill of being on assignment, but has developed strong feelings about wanting to start a family and build a life with Jamie." Meet the On-Air Talent Bill Dunne (Matheson), News Anchor: "I24 network's star anchor whose career in reporting began in the field. Although he is pleased by his achievements as a top broadcast journalist, he doesn't hesitate to remind his colleagues and his bosses that he feels he deserves a bigger say in network decision making. His greatest asset is his unmatched talent for impromptu commentary. If you need to fill seven minutes of air, Dunne is your man." Janet LeClaire (Crist), Feature Correspondent: "who, increasingly fed up with the puff pieces she is assigned, is eventually promoted to be Dunne's co-anchor for the 8 o'clock news. She has a tough time ad-libbing in emergency situations, but her friendly and inquisitive personality makes her adept at one-on-one interviews in the studio. She graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism, was hired as a weather girl in North Carolina, and is working her way up." Jamie Templeton (King), Field Reporter: "one of the best special assignment reporters in broadcast journalism. She loves a challenge, and the more dangerous the assignment, the better. She's been on the move ever since graduating from Yale and because of her job, hasn't had the chance to settle down into one place." Mel Thomas (Sams), Special Assignment Reporter: "whose career began as a writer of a Chicago newspaper column where he blended reporting and personal opinions. Married to a very successful software executive, he and his wife are constantly challenged to find a balance between their successful careers and spending time with their 11-year-old son." (character quotes courtesy http://www.bravotv.com) From the network that knows drama comes this dramatic series that takes place behind-the-scenes of a CNN-like net. Or was supposed to come, anyway, since TNT moved its premiere back twice before ultimately cancelling it without ever broadcasting a single episode, eating $13 million in the process. Some PR bunk suggesting they felt they'd be putting good money after bad followed; theories arose expressing the belief that, after contributing years worth of garbage to FOX and the WB, new (and already gone) boss Jamie Kellner didn't "get" it; others were certain that AOL Time Warner killed it out of fear that it would scare potential viewers away from CNN. Whatever it was, perhaps TNT might want to think about changing their slogan to "TNT knows jack." In April, 2002, one year after the final episode was filmed, Bravo announced they had picked up the broadcast rights to the series -- which was first aired on Wednesday nights from July to October, 2002. Bravo is proud to present television's first gay dating series with "Boy Meets Boy," a new twist on a traditional dating show. You've heard all the controversial buzz--now you can see for yourself what everyone is talking about! "Boy Meets Boy," hosted by Dani Behr, is Bravo's distinctive reality gay dating series with twists that explore the unexpected, leaving the viewers on the edge of their seats. In the premiere episode, viewers will meet James (the "leading man") a handsome, 32-year old administrator in the human resources department of a law firm. James and the fifteen potential mates will live in luxurious but separate accommodations. The suitors vie for his affections by participating in group activities and attending one-on-one dates, while James–with advise from his best friend Andra–eliminate men at the end of each episode. In the final episode, one lucky mate will be chosen for the opportunity to enjoy an exciting and adventure-packed New Zealand vacation with James, courtesy of Alyson Adventures. THE TWIST! What the leading man and Andra don't know is that some of the "mates" are actually STRAIGHT men posing as gay men–an interesting twist allowing for numerous avenues of heated on-air discussions and debates that challenge socially preconceived notions of what is considered gay and straight behavior. Can you guess who is straight and who is gay? Reruns do not currently air anywhere but a DVD has been released. We can only hope a second season comes around.moreless
