    Dexter's Laboratory

    Dexter's Laboratory

    Cartoon Network (ended 2003)
Dexter's Laboratory is the story of a young boy prodigy. Born with an extraordinary mind, Dexter has built his very own extremely high-tech and expansive laboratory in his room that NASA could only dream of. But Dexter has to keep his lab a secret for fear others will exploit it. Through out the years, Dexter has had to hide his lab from his parents and others but it is no easy task. All Dexter wants is to spend all the time he can inventing new things in his lab, but between his stupid and annoying older sister Dee Dee constantly barging into his lab and tearing up the place and his arch enemy and rival genius Mandark constantly tiring to take over his lab, Dexter's life is anything but easy. Dexter's Laboratory was originally premiered on Cartoon Network as part of the inaugural, Space Ghost hosted, "World Premiere Toons" before becoming a feature with two full shorts on the regular series, a.k.a. the What a Cartoon Show, it eventually became a series itself. Characters: Dexter - Dexter is the big guy here to spite his short size. Dexter's IQ is enough to rival his role model, Albert Einstein. Dexter is an impressionable little boy who loves action. He is always looking for a fight in his giant Robo-Dexter or against his rival, Mandark and when he isn't doing that or working in his lab, he is playing with his action figures or watching TV. You would be hard pressed to see Dexter outside unless he is doing some sort of experiment or fighting some sort of evil. But other than all that, Dexter spends all his time in his lab. Dexter is constantly working on something new and building on to the lab. So much in fact that he has some inventions he can't even remember making and there are parts of the lab he doesn't know anything about. Naturally, Dexter is the head of his class much to the dismay of his fellow students. Dexter is pretty much devoid of friends but he isn't really bothered by it. As long as he can work in his lab, Dexter lives on. Dee Dee - Dexter's older sister is a very happy and delightful girl. Being taller and older than Dexter gives her a sisterly edge. Dee Dee is one of the few who knows about Dexter's lab as she stumbled upon in when the both were younger. But Dexter does not need to worry about her spilling the secret as no one would believe her even if she did. Dee Dee lives in her own little world complete with unicorns, imaginary dragons, and talking ponies. Her room is a pink nightmare of stuffed animals and dolls that Dexter must avoid at all costs. So naturally, no one really takes her seriously. She is a dancer and a singer but insists on practicing in the lab and wreaking the place in the process. She also has some athletic skill in most sports. But behind it all, Dee Dee is actually a very caring sister who does truly love her little brother. Mom - Mom is a happy home maker who can't stand filth in any form. You will be hard pressed not to find her wearing her yellow gloves. She, like Dexter, wears them everywhere. Mom always has dinner on the table by the time Dad gets home and is always willing for a bit of "playing around" with her husband at anytime. She gets the kids on the bus in the morning and off in the evening. Just your standard work at home Mom who sits on the brink of insanity at times. Dexter seems to take after her with her hard work ethic and inability to stop once she starts. She works in the kitchen much like Dexter works in the lab and hates it when Dad drops in to bother her. Dad - Dad is the typical working man. He leaves in the morning for work and comes home in the evening for dinner. He loves sports and working with his tools. He is a handy man and handles most of the hard work around the house. He likes to mess around with his family, especially Dexter. He enjoys annoying his wife in the kitchen and giving her a playful little pinch in the butt. His constant attempts to get Dexter out of his room and into a uniform of some sort usually are forfeit. He is an outdoors man as well. He loves to fish and camp. Dad is a very laid-back guy. Dee Dee seems to take after Dad with his sports skill, his love of the outside, and his thrive at being annoying. Mandark - Mandark is Dexter's rival and he is totally evil. Mandark is on the same intellectual level as Dexter and has proved it many times. He also has his own lab in his room though it doesn't seem to be a secret as Dexter's. Mandark's lab is bigger and better than Dexter's and he never misses a chance to reminded Dexter of that fact. Mandark's #1 ambition is to shut down Dexter's lab thus making him the only genius around. Mandark is always looking for a way to outdo Dexter in anyway possible. Mandark also has a major crush on Dee Dee which is a point that Dexter exploits all the time. His parents are actually peace loving and hippies in a sense. He repents his parent's ways, but still is forced by them to do peaceful rituals when the time comes. Upon discovering a mysterious device known as the Omnitrix, 10-year-old Ben Tennyson is bestowed with the power to change into 10 different alien heroes. Each alien hero has its own unique and awesome powers. Although Ben now has the added responsibility to protect others and fight evil forces, he still manages to find time for some mischief and fun!

    Character Bios

Heat Blast - Comes from an alien race that lives on the sun rather than a planet. He can project bolts of fire from his hands and mouth, and create fireballs that he can either throw or roll. He also has the ability to absorb flames and heat, meaning he can put out a fire just as quickly as he starts one.

    Powers/Strengths - Fireballs, absorption of heat/fire.

    Weaknesses - Excess water.

Debut Episode - "And Then There Were 10"

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Wildmutt - More animal than humanoid, he is a beastly alien with superhuman athletic abilities, and heightened senses of smell, hearing, and taste. He can also fire the quills on his back as projectiles with incredible accuracy. Even though he has no eyes, his lack of vision is supplemented by his hearing and smell, which works almost as well as actual vision (which appear as red figures against a green backdrop). Wildmutt cannot communicate verbally, but can growl, grunt, and make other similar noises.

Powers/Strengths - Sharp quills, athletic ability, heightened senses of smell, hearing, and taste.

Weaknesses - No sound or smell in surrounding areas.

Debut Episode - "And Then There Were 10"

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Diamond Head - He's a crystalline alien whose body is harder than diamond, making him invulnerable to most physical attacks and allowing him to cut and slash through almost anything. He can also use his body to refract light and beam based weapons.

Powers/Strengths - Razor-sharp diamond shards, can refract light/beam-based weapons, ability to morph certain parts of his body into extremely sharp tools/weapons.

    Weaknesses - Sonic-based attacks/weapons.

Debut Episode - "And Then There Were 10"

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

XLR8 - As the name states (pronounced like "accelerate"), he's a lizard-like alien that has the power to manipulate friction in order to gain acceleration, allowing him to move at incredible speeds. He may be fast, but he is not very strong compared to the other alien forms.

Powers/Strengths - Super speed (300 mph), able to manipulate friction, ability to run on almost any surface.

    Weaknesses - Magnetic-based attacks/weapons.

Debut Episode - "And Then There Were 10"

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Grey Matter - At a mere five inches tall, he's part of an alien race bred to enter complex machines and repair them from the inside. Consequently, he can squeeze through extremely small spaces. He's extremely smart, which gives Ben a boost in intelligence when he's in this form.

Powers/Strengths - Enhanced intelligence, ability to squeeze through small spaces, slimy skin allowing him to climb virtually anything.

    Weaknesses - Strength-based opponents/enemies.

    Debut Episode - "Washington B.C."

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Four Arms - At 12-feet tall, he's an alien of extraordinary strength, and can jump high distances. Unfortunately, due to his body mass and his agility is declined and he is very clumsy.

Powers/Strengths - Super strength, armored skin, ability to create sonic waves when all four hands are clapped at once.

    Weaknesses - Extremely quick opponents/enemies.

    Debut Episode - "Washington B.C."

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Stinkfly - He's a winged, insectoid alien and expert flier, able to pull off amazing acrobatic moves in midair. He can also take care of himself in flight, using his pincers and tail as weapons, as well as shooting slime from his eye-stalks. Much like Earth insects, he also has a tough exoskeleton, but very thin wings.

Powers/Strengths - Acrobatic flight, six pincer legs, very sharp tail, slime-shooting eye-stalks.

Weaknesses - Poisonous gases and water.

    Debut Episode - "Washington B.C."

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Ripjaws - This aquatic alien form is an extraordinary swimmer since he can breathe underwater and change his legs into a long tail with fins. He's remarkably fast and agile in the water and can fight with his claws or unhinge his powerful jaws to deliver a devastating bite.

Powers/Strengths - Underwater breathing, agility; powerful jaws and sharp claws.

    Weaknesses - Dry land.

    Debut Episode - "The Krakken"

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Upgrade - A biomechanical alien with liquid metallic skin and a system of organic "circuits." He has the ability to merge with any technology and bring it to life with enhanced abilities.

Powers/Strengths - Positronic energy blasts, ability to merge with and upgrade technology.

Weaknesses - Corrosives (acids) and electromagnetic energy.

    Debut Episode - "Permanent Retirement"

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=~=~=~=~=~

Ghostfreak - A shadowy, phantom-like alien that has the ability to phase through solid objects, such as walls, and become invisible at will. Ghostfreak also exhibits limited telepathic and telekinetic abilities. He only has one eye, but can position it almost anywhere on his body by moving it along a track traced on his skin.

Powers/Strengths - Intangibility, invisibility, flight, telepathy, and telekinesis.

    Weaknesses - Direct light.

    Debut Episode - "Permanent Retirement"

Rated: TV-PG through TV-14 "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth." -Alphonse Elric

Edward and Alphonse Elric are two brothers gifted with the ability of alchemy, the science of taking one thing and changing it into another. However, alchemy works on the theory of Equivalent Exchange -- for something to be created, something else of equal value must be sacrificed. When their mother dies, Edward decides to do the unthinkable -- bringing her back to life by preforming Human Alchemy. However, both Edward and Alphonse know that by doing so they will be breaking one of Alchemy's biggest taboos.

Believing they have nothing more to lose, Ed and Al go ahead with their plan. Unfortunately, something goes horribly wrong and Ed loses his leg while Al loses his body. In order to save his brother, Ed sacrifices his arm for Al's soul and attaches it to a suit of armor.

Determined to correct what they have done and get their bodies back, the brothers decide to become State Alchemists to gain access to the State's enormous library on alchemy. There, they learn of the legendary Philosopher's Stone -- an item that allows an alchemist to bypass the Law of Equivalent Exchange. They soon learn that they are not the only ones after the Stone as other forces (including the Military) join in on the hunt.

Winry Rockbell: Ed and Al's next door neighbor and childhood friend, Winry is an expert Auto-Mail mechanic who helped fit Ed with his limbs after the accident. She is close to both brothers, but is not afraid to let Ed have it when he deserves it.

Been forever Since I cried the pain of sorrow, I'll live and die, by the pride my people gave me. I'm here standing on the edge, Staring up at where the moon should be. Oooooooooh! Stray! No regrets cause I've got nothing to lose. (Nothing to lose!) Ever stray! So I'm gonna live my life as I choose. (Life as I choose!) Until I fall. Stray! Straaaaaaaaaaaay! "Gravity" Lyrics Been a long road to follow, Been there and gone tomorrow, Without saying goodbye to yesterday. Are the memories I hold still valid? Or have the tears deluded me? Maybe this time tomorrow, The rain will cease to follow, And the mist will fade into a new today. Something somewhere out there keeps calling, Am I going home? Will I hear someone singing solace to the silent moon? Zero gravity what's it like? Am I alone? Is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet, Still the roads keeps on telling me to go on. Something is pulling me, I feel the gravity of it all. Characters Kiba (Fang): Kiba is the white wolf. He is tough and stubborn. Even though the group has no real leader, he seems to be the one leading them. He will face any danger to get to paradise. Kiba believes in Cheza the most. Tsume (Claw): Tsume, who originally lived among the humans, is cold and independent. He doesn't really believe in paradise but goes along anyway. Tsume's identifying feature is a cross shaped scar on his chest. Hige (Whisker): Hige is rational and doesn't like to rush into things. He always seems to be looking for food or women. Hige's identifying feature is his collar around his neck. Toboe (Howling): Toboe is the youngest of the four. He is kind and loyal. The others in the group call him runt because sometimes he slows the group down. Toboe's identifying feature is a bracelet on his right hand. Cheza (The Flower Maiden): We first meet Cheza in a research lab. She is suspended inside a glass sphere. She can hear the wolves and calls out to them. Cheza will lead the wolves to paradise. Blue: Blue was Quent Yaiden's dog. As Quent's dog she could sense wolves and helped him hunt them down. But one day she met Cheza and realized she was part wolf. After that she could take human form. Quent Yaiden: Quent believes his village was burned down by wolves. For revenge he plans to hunt down all wolves and kill them. Cher Degri: Cher is one of the scientists first seen studying Cheza. Her obsession with Cheza and the "Book of the Moon" strained her marriage to Hubb. Hubb Lebowski: Hubb is a police investigator. He is Cher's ex-husband. He is still in love with Cher and follows her after she disappears. Darcia: Darcia is a noble. He wants Cheza for himself. At first his motives are unknown. He is often wearing a mask that covers his face. Guide Editor:LadyL Thank You to all who have contributed to this guide. Note:If you are going to contribute to this guide please check your spelling. It is a time when, even if nets were to guide all consciousness that had been converted to photons and electrons toward coalescing, standalone individuals have not yet been converted into data to the extent that they can form unique components of a larger complex. Based on the manga by Shirō Masamune and made popular world-wide by Mamoru Oshii's 1995 cyberpunk classic, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex adds more to the rich, philosophical tale of the fusion between man and machine. The year is 2030 and man and machine are fast becoming fully integrated. Advancements in computer technology that can be melded into both body and mind have become readily available. Criminal acts have entered a new era as well. Exploiting the very systems meant to advance society for the better, criminals have created new ways to get what they desire. Cyberbrains, now very commonplace within society, allow for the abuse of people's minds through hacking. Along with body enhancements come androids that allow for criminals to work their machinations from behind the scenes. As new and more serious forms of crime escalate, more advanced police units are needed to handle these emerging threats. That is why Public Security Section 9, a special task force made up of both flesh and blood humans and mechanical cyborgs, has been assembled. Equipped with the latest technology and advance multipedal tanks called Tachikomas, Section 9 handles high crimes committed against the Japanese people. Each member has their own strong points that come in handy during each mission, but when dealing with such highly advanced criminals, strong points are second only to cold, hard skill. Japanese Title: 「攻殻機動隊 STAND ALONE COMPLEX」 「Kōkaku Kidōtai STAND ALONE COMPLEX」 Literal Translation: Offensive Shell Mobile Unit. Artistic Translation: Mobile Armoured Riot Police. Age Rating: TV-M; 青年 / 成年 - Seinen (Pronounced Say-nen) (Young Adult) / Seinen (Adult). Violence, Language, Nudity, Political Intrigue. Genres: Mecha, Military, Police, Science Fiction, Politics. Intro Theme: 「Inner Universe」by Origa (eps 1-26) 「Rise」by Origa (eps 27-52) Outro Theme: 「Lithium Flower」 by Scott Matthew (eps 1-26) 「Living Inside the Shell」by Steve Conte (eps 27-52) SAC: 1995 Movie Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex takes place in the year 2030, one year after the events of the first movie that was released in 1995. However, SAC takes place in an alternate universe. Thus, the events of the movie never take place in the world of SAC. A Note about the Episodes For Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - 1st GIG, the SA/C nomenclature denotes SA as 'Stand Alone' and C as 'Complex'. 'Stand Alone' episodes deal with various cases that Section 9 handles. 'Complex' episodes cover one major case that Section 9 investigates throughout the first season. For Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - 2nd GIG the IN/DI/DU nomenclature denotes IN as 'INdividual' episodes, DI as 'DIvidual' episodes, and DU as 'DUal' episodes. While one may think that IN refer to the Stand Alone episodes of the second season, they actually are the Complex episodes of 2nd Gig. DI episodes are the Stand Alone episodes. Finally, DU episodes cover cases pertaining to the Japanese Government.moreless

Similar to what is done on Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, this show can be described as a "cartoon remix" of the 1972 Alex Toth animated show Sealab 2020 in that the producers take the old animated footage, and manipulate it into something hilarious.

The show centers around the crew of a lab under the sea. Plot and continuity are sacrificed early and often for insanity and clever wit.

The show ran for four seasons and 52 episodes until it was cancelled in April 2005. Despite rumors of Cartoon Network cancelling the series, the show was in fact ended by decision of 7030 Productions, who felt it was the right time to move on to new projects.

Jonny Quest: The Real Adventures is based on the series from the sixties (this series is now known as Classic Jonny Quest) and the series from the eighties (known as The New Adventures of Jonny Quest. The series from the sixties was created by Doug Wildey and produced by Hanna-Barbera, Inc. The New Adventures of Jonny Quest were created to complete the fourth half-hour of the syndicated Sunday line-up, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. In Jonny Quest: The Real Adventures Jessie Bannon, the daughter of Race, appears for the first time and she takes an important role in this series. The Story 14-year-old Jonny Quest invariably finds adventure in exotic locations around the world with his father, renowned scientist/explorer Dr Benton Quest. They are accompanied by Benton's adopted son and assistant, Hadji; Dr Quest's personal bodyguard, Race Bannon; and Jessie Bannon, Race's teenage daughter. And, of course, Jonny's faithful dog Bandit. One more exotic locale has been added to the travelogue - QuestWorld, a virtual-reality system invented by Benton Quest. Questworld is employed in recreating imaginary or otherwise inaccessible environments. The Questworld system has since been expanded by his son, Hadji and Jessie to include recreational uses as well. In the course of their adventures, the Quest team runs into resistance from a number of sources, ranging from former KGB operatives to their own government to the forces of nature herself. They also receive help from fellow seekers after knowledge, and sometimes from unexpected sources - such as a renegade nuclear submarine captain who targets whaling boats. Jonathan "Jonny" Quest Jonny is extremely curious and loves action. Whenever he is on a journey, he uses his wits to escape from trouble. He has a well-developed sense of responsibility, although he tends to be impatient and even reckless. Very loyal, campassionate, and adventurous, Jonny always puts others before himself. Hadji Quest-Singh Adopted by Dr. Quest, he is also his assistant. The mature and intelligible boy accompanies his mentor on all of his scientific excursions. Specializing in computer programming and general electronic know-how, and is an able backup for any situation. He seems to have a slight problem with heights. A wise person who is always by Jonny's side, teaching him new things and helping solve problems. He has also inherited psychic powers from his parents. Jessica Margaret Leya "Jessie" Bannon She has learned a lot from his father to become intelligent and resourceful. She has a special inclination towards computers and communications equipment, which she manipulates with ease. Her eagerness to participate in and sometimes initiate the Quest team's often rigorous activities does not in any way diminish her femininity. Roger T. "Race" Bannon He used to be a government agent and is now Dr. Quest's bodyguard and Operations Manager. The father of Jesse, he is experienced with piloting any vehicle and has a large knowledge of weapons and security. Benton C. Quest The doctor is a world-renowned phenomenologist, archaeologist, scientist and explorer whose daily commute ranges from 2 to 2000 miles. He has spent most of his life researching strange phenomena all around the world, and now is frequently commissioned as a consultant in such matters by individuals, institutions and governments alike. This has helped him build a personal fortune that allows him to pursue his own interests.moreless

He receives a rude awakening when he is revived in the middle of a military operation to evacuate him out of the cold-sleep facility. The group is attacked by a giant bug-like creature which wrenches two members into a grotesque cocoon before it is killed by the powersuit escort. It seems like a nightmare, but it's very much a reality for Yuji. He discovers that his abductors are humans under their skull-like masks and that his powersuited rescuer is a young woman named Marlene Angel. Marlene explains that it is now the year 2031, meaning that Yuji was in cold-sleep for 22 years. In that time, a genetic experiment went awry and created giant bug-like creatures called Blue which have taken over the world. Things, of course, don't go smoothly as planned. The Blue spring a surprise attack on the orbital launch base before the humans are able to board the shuttle.
