    CBS (ended 2001)
Cordell Walker is a contemporary Texas Ranger working out of the Dallas office who believed in dealing with criminals the old-fashioned way--by beating them up. Despite the rules that governed the way law-enforcement officers were supposed to act. Walker's approach closely resembled the "eye for an eye" school of crime fighting. His partner is young Jimmy Trivette, who had grown up in the slums of Baltimore and used football as his ticket to a college education and a career with the Dallas Cowboys until he busted his shoulder. Despite Jimmy's belief in computers and scientific criminology, working with Walker, always seemed to leave him bruised and sore--when Walker was trying to get information or take people into custody it was more than likely there would be a fistfight or karate kicks. County Assistant D.A. Alex Cahill, his sometimes girlfriend, frowned on Walker's methods, even if they did get results. When not on duty Walker and the others hung out at C.D.'s, the saloon/restaurant owned by his buddy C.D. Parker, a former Ranger forced into early retirement after taking a bullet in the knee, who still provided help and advice on cases. Uncle Ray was the wise old Native American who had raised Walker. He died at the end of the 3rd season. Star Chuck Norris, former karate champion and movie star, played Walker in the deadpan unemotional style he used in most of his feature films. Nothing ever seemed to excite him, and the violence on the show had a cartoon quality about it. There was a surrealistic efficiency about Walker--he almost never broke sweat, got hurt, or wasted a blow--using violence because it was necessary but never glorying on it. This is Norris' first time in a TV series.moreless

The Duke Family -- cousins Bo ( John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat), assisted by their cousin Daisy ( Catherine Bach) and their uncle, Jesse (Denver Pyle)-- fight the system and root out the corrupt practices of Hazzard County Commissioner Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) and his bumbling brother-in-law-Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best). The show became an instant hit, never failing to win its time slot during its original run on CBS for seven seasons from 1979-1985. The Duke boys, a pair of 'Robin Hood' types complete with bows and Dynamite arrows, are assisted in their adventures by their car, an orange 1969 Dodge Charger named 'The General Lee'. The Dukes of Hazzard is set in Georgia, and the show's southern influence is felt throughout. Country singing superstar Waylon Jennings performed the famous theme song to the show (Good Ol' Boys), and acts as The Balladeer, narrating the adventures of each episode. Furthermore, many of the plots revolved around the Dukes' history as an ex-moon-shining family. The story followed Bo and Luke until season five, because during episodes 87 through 104, their cousins Coy (Byron Cherry)and Vance (Christopher Mayer) replaced the boys while the went on to join NASCAR Circuit. Bo and Luke won, but returned to Hazzard after great season at the NASCAR Circuit. Innocently naive Deputy Enos Strate, though technically a member of the law under Boss Hogg, strives for justice and fairness, while also having a major crush on Daisy. Ace mechanic Cooter Davenport helps the Dukes along the way, and Deputy Cletus Hogg, though not as honest as Enos, subtlety assists the Dukes escape from 'Hogg justice'. The series had an extremely successful run in syndication beginning in 1996 on TNN, the Nashville Network. This led to a resurgence in the popularity of the "Dukes". Two reunion movies, featuring the surviving members of the cast, aired in 1997 and 2000. The show currently airs on CMT (Country Music Television) and in the summer of 2005 experienced another huge revival with the film version, starring Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville, Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson. A Prequel was Made in 2007 and shown in 2 weeks on ABC Family in 2008 during the summer.moreless

As the first television drama series about the Vietnam War, Tour of Duty focuses on a single platoon of young U.S. soldiers through their one-year tour of combat duty in Vietnam during the late 1960's. While their own country is rocked by a massive anti-war movement, these young men find themselves thrown into combat in Southeast Asia, where they face enemy troops they can not see and sometimes can not kill. They also face their own fears, as they struggle in a hostile environment just to keep themselves and their fellow soldiers alive. Terence Knox, Kevin Conroy, Stephen Caffrey, Joshua Maurer, Steve Akahoshi, Tony Becker, Eric Bruskotter, Stan Foster, Ramon Franco and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr. star as the infantrymen who represent diverse racial, cultural and philosophical backgrounds but must ultimately depend on one another to get through the war alive. Tour of Duty takes place in 1967, when the war in Vietnam has escalated to terrifying heights. Four hundred seventy-five thousand U.S. troops are stationed in South Vietnam. Like most fighting units "in country," Company B is a diverse mixture of young men, mostly teenagers, from across the United States. Its base is a remote firecamp, composed of sandbagged bunkers and surrounded by mine fields and the scorched remains of once-lush forests. The enemy they encounter is the well-trained and well-supplied regulars of the North Vietnamese Army. Company B's driving force is Sgt. Zeke Anderson (Knox), an amiable and popular sergeant, already on his third tour of duty in Vietnam and determined to keep himself and his men alive. He shares a mutual respect with Capt. Rusty Wallace (Conroy), the company commander and a patient leader, tolerant of the young soldiers for whom he is responsible. Lt. Myron Goldman (Caffrey) is a newly arrived officer, anxious to assert leadership despite his inexperience. Others are Pri. Roger Horn (Maurer), "Doc" Randy Matsuda (Akahoshi), Cpl. Danny Percell (Becker), Pri. Alberto Ruiz (Franco) and Pri. Marcus Taylor (Nunez). Tour of Duty goes beyond the massive political turmoil caused by the Vietnam War and attempts to portray the human side of the conflict. Nearly three million American servicemen were sent overseas, and more than 57,000 of them never came back. It is only recently that Americans look anew at the war and remember the men of all races and backgrounds who served there at such tremendous personal sacrifice. In the UK the series was shown regionally on the ITV network, differing nights at times between 11:30pm and 1:30am.moreless

Guns Of Paradise is the sequel series of the 1988-90 television western, Paradise.
Paradise centered around grizzled gunfighter Ethan Allan Cord, who assumed custody of his late sister's four orphaned children. Ethan's sister, Lucy Cord Carroll, died in St. Louis in the 1890s and her children traveled to the West Coast to live with their uncle in Paradise, California.
Cord attempted to change his life by becoming a rancher and raising the children in a converted farmhouse he rented from the town banker. The oldest of the children, and only girl, was 13-year-old Claire Carroll, who shared some of Ethan's supervisory duties, especially while he was away. Her brothers were Joseph, 11; Ben, 9; and George, 5.
Despite attempting to settle down with his new brood, Ethan was often hired on odd jobs which utilized his gunfighting skills. Amelia Lawson, the banker from whom Ethan rented the farmhouse, became his romantic occupation. Ethan's best friend, Native American John Taylor, had a knack for being in the right spot at the right time, usually to help Ethan out of a jam.

Welcome to the Project Geeker guide at TV.com. Welcome to the FABULOUS WORLD OF TOMORROW!

Welcome to overcrowding! Pollution! Crime! Five hundred home shopping channels! Yes, you heard right. It's worse than you ever imagined. FIVE HUNDRED HOME SHOPPING CHANNELS. The human mind cannot bear such untrammeled terror.

In the future, there are two simple rules to remember:

    NO SPITTING.

    DON'T CROSS MISTER MOLOCH.

Mister Moloch is the CEO of Moloch Industries, the giga-corporation which owns and operates most of the Earth (not to mention the moon, mars, and most of the more upscale parts of the asteroid belt). Moloch is one small step from world domination. And that's a step he's eager to take.

In order to achieve his goal of total conquest, Moloch initiated Project GKR (Geno-Kinetic Research). Helmed by the brilliant but unstable Doctor Maston, the aim of Project GKR was to create the perfect corporate warrior; an artificial human with fantastic powers, whom Moloch could use to crush all who opposed him.

Project GKR succeeded beyond Moloch's wildest dreams, resulting in a synthetic man - known as "Geeker" - with complete control over his own molecular structure. Geeker had power enough to destroy the world... or conquer it, for Moloch.

But before Geeker could receive the programming which would enable him to control his powers and make him a slave to Moloch's will, he was stolen by a streetwise thief named Lady MacBeth, who was aided by an intelligent dinosaur named Noah. Lady MacBeth and Noah thought they were stealing a device they could sell on the black market. But when they opened the canister they had stolen, instead of some new high-tech weapon, they found Geeker.

Without his final programming, Geeker was innocent and childlike; possessing fantastic powers but largely unable to control them. Noah and Lady MacBeth - whom Geeker promptly nicknamed "Becky" - realized they had something incredibly valuable on their hands. But they also realized that neither of them were hard-hearted enough to sell a human being.

It was clear that Moloch meant to use Geeker to destroy anyone standing between him and world conquest - probably starting with Becky and Noah. Moloch would stop at nothing to get Geeker back. Becky and Noah had no choice but to keep Moloch from capturing Geeker at all costs.

Now Geeker, Becky and Noah are on the run from Moloch. They ought to be doomed, really, just the three of them against the awesome forces of Moloch Industries. But soon, Moloch will learn the truth of that old saying:

THE GEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH.
