The Duke Family -- cousins Bo ( John Schneider) and Luke (Tom Wopat), assisted by their cousin Daisy ( Catherine Bach) and their uncle, Jesse (Denver Pyle)-- fight the system and root out the corrupt practices of Hazzard County Commissioner Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) and his bumbling brother-in-law-Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best). The show became an instant hit, never failing to win its time slot during its original run on CBS for seven seasons from 1979-1985. The Duke boys, a pair of 'Robin Hood' types complete with bows and Dynamite arrows, are assisted in their adventures by their car, an orange 1969 Dodge Charger named 'The General Lee'. The Dukes of Hazzard is set in Georgia, and the show's southern influence is felt throughout. Country singing superstar Waylon Jennings performed the famous theme song to the show (Good Ol' Boys), and acts as The Balladeer, narrating the adventures of each episode. Furthermore, many of the plots revolved around the Dukes' history as an ex-moon-shining family. The story followed Bo and Luke until season five, because during episodes 87 through 104, their cousins Coy (Byron Cherry)and Vance (Christopher Mayer) replaced the boys while the went on to join NASCAR Circuit. Bo and Luke won, but returned to Hazzard after great season at the NASCAR Circuit. Innocently naive Deputy Enos Strate, though technically a member of the law under Boss Hogg, strives for justice and fairness, while also having a major crush on Daisy. Ace mechanic Cooter Davenport helps the Dukes along the way, and Deputy Cletus Hogg, though not as honest as Enos, subtlety assists the Dukes escape from 'Hogg justice'. The series had an extremely successful run in syndication beginning in 1996 on TNN, the Nashville Network. This led to a resurgence in the popularity of the "Dukes". Two reunion movies, featuring the surviving members of the cast, aired in 1997 and 2000. The show currently airs on CMT (Country Music Television) and in the summer of 2005 experienced another huge revival with the film version, starring Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville, Willie Nelson and Jessica Simpson. A Prequel was Made in 2007 and shown in 2 weeks on ABC Family in 2008 during the summer.moreless

Diagnosis Murder follows Dr. Mark Sloan, the chief of internal medicine, at LA's Community General Hospital. Dr. Sloan, much like Jessica Fletcher of Murder, She Wrote, has a magnetic quality that apparently draws murders to him. Every week, Dr. Sloan stumbles across murders, either acting in his role at the hospital, aiding the police as a medical consultant, or just plain dumb luck. Dr. Sloan is assisted by several others over the years: Dr. Jack Stewart, a prodigy of Dr. Sloan's, who raised him from the mean streets to become a doctor. Amanda Bentley, the hospital's chief pathologist. Jesse Travis, an intern in ER medicine. Steve Sloan, Mark's son, a homicide detective, who more often than not has to deter his father from interfering. Diagnosis Murder first got its start on the television series Jake and the Fat Man in the episode "It Never Entered My Mind" which first aired on 20 Mar 91. In the episode Dick Van Dyke played Dr. Sloan, who, when accused of murdering a hospital administrator, launches his own investigation, with the help from his medical students. The following year, in January of 1992, the first of three television movies aired, starring Dick Van Dyke and Barry Van Dyke in their present roles, but different actors as their sidekicks. Fall 1993 marked the beginning of Diagnosis Murder's turbulent existence. Almost cancelled in the fall of 1995, it returned as a mid-season replacement and has been renewed every since. For the 1998-1999 television season, the show was initially given a 13 episode commitment, which eventually was made into a full 22 episode commitment. When Fran Fine entered the Sheffield's residence in Park Avenue selling cosmetics, little did she know about how much she was going to change their lives. The Jewish girl from Queens got a job as the nanny for Maxwell Sheffield's (a Broadway producer) three kids: Maggie, Brighton and Gracie. But the Sheffields got more than just a nanny: they got Sylvia, Fran's compulsive eater, nosy mother; Val, Fran's best friend with a low I.Q.; and Yetta, Fran's grandmother. She gave joy to the house that had been blue ever since Mrs. Sheffield passed away, and quickly became friends with Niles, the butler, who is always aware of everything that is going on in the house. The attraction between Fran and Mr. Sheffield became evident as the years went by, for C.C.'s (Maxwell's business partner, who always had a crush on him) torture. Many people consider The Nanny as being the 90's version of "I Love Lucy". The show premiered in November, 1993 as a late addition to CBS's Wednesday fall lineup. The show quickly became a hit, moving to Monday nights on its second season and remaining there until its third. Then CBS moved it back to Wednesday nights, trying to improve the ratings for that night - a move that made CBS hold the time slot for the first time in 25 years, since Sonny & Cher! But ratings started to fall, and during the 5th season the producers decided to end its run, giving it one last season. The 6th season ran until March, when the show went into a hiatus. The series finale was shown before the remaining episodes, which were shown later during June. During its 6-year run, The Nanny was nominated for 11 Emmys, winning only one in 1995 for best costume designs. Fran Drescher was nominated twice for best actress: in 1996 and 1997. Renée Taylor also got a nomination as best supporting actress in 1996. A Fran Drescher doll was released during the show's run, featuring some of the outfits that were one of the show's trademarks. This series featured live tournament-style competitions in four categories - adult singer, junior singer, comedians, models/young dancers - culminating in the grand prize winning STAR in each category. A panel of celebrity judges will determine the winners. The suspense will build each week as the head-to-head competition in each category renders a winner who will advance to the next round. There are six qualifying episodes. Winners from each of these episodes will then advance to the semi finals. The grand finale episode on Thursday, February 6 at 8PM ET/PT will crown the STAR SEARCH winner in each category! To clarify, episodes one, two, three, five, six and seven will be "first round" matchups for seasons one through three. Winners of episodes one, two and three will advance to episode four, the first semi-final. Winners of episodes five, six and seven will advance to episode eight, the second semi-final. Episode nine will be the grand finale in which two semi-final winners from each category will compete for the $100,000 grand prize. The fourth season of this series, was different because there was no guest judges and the three judges that were there did not tell how many stars each contestant got. Joan of Arcadia is a drama that follows a typical family facing atypical situations, not the least of which is their teenage daughter's conversations with God. A tough but soft-hearted police detective in Arcadia, Will Girardi (Joe Mantegna) dreams of providing a safe haven for his family and community. An outbreak of serious crime in his idyllic new town has challenged Girardi's desire for order, as have the ups and downs he faces with his family. Daughter Joan (Amber Tamblyn), an average teenager, has been acting a little strange. Most don't know that it has to do with the unusual way various people keep popping up, introducing themselves as God and then giving her specific directions to do things, such as get a job, join the debate team or volunteer with children. The appearances are hard for her to believe, even more so as she never knows who's going to turn up next. One minute it's a cute boy her own age, the next it's the lunch lady or a little girl. She'd been keeping it a secret from everyone, though she has finally revealed it to her artistic and generally sensitive boyfriend, Adam (Christopher Marquette), who believes she's been experiencing hallucinations. Rounding out the Girardi family are her art-teacher mother, Helen (Mary Steenburgen); her 16-year-old science-geek brother, Luke (Michael Welch), and her older, newspaper-writer brother, Kevin (Jason Ritter), a former high-school sports star who is in a wheelchair as a result of a car accident. Joan's unlikely new best friend is her publicly caustic and rebellious, but privately insightful and supportive classmate, Grace (Becky Wahlstrom). Unsure of what God wants--if God exists--and if she's even sane, Joan tentatively follows God's cryptic directives, all the while trying to retain a normal teenaged existence. Molly Anne Caffrey (Carla Gugino) is a government contingency agent whose job is to create response plans for any possible worse-case scenario. One of her plans - THRESHOLD - is enacted by J.T. Baylock when the U.S. Navy realizes an "extra terrestrial craft" has landed in the mid-Atlantic ocean. Caffrey must hand-select a team of scientists - consisting of Dr. Nigel Fenway (Brent Spiner) - a NASA microbiologist, Lucas Pegg (Rob Benedict) - a neurotic physicist, Arthur Ramsey (Peter Dinklage) - an expert linguist and mathematician, and Sean Cavennaugh (Brian Van Holt) - a highly trained covert operative with a puzzling past. Threshold stems from the minds of producers David Heyman, David Goyer, and Brannon Braga.moreless
