    CTV (ended 1999)
This series is a continuation of the comedy-drama Due South and ran from 1997 to 1999. The earlier series followed the life of Benton Fraser, a Canadian Mountie. He first came to Chicago on the trail of the killers of his father and stayed as a liaison for the Chicago Police Department. His American partner Ray Vecchio was originally played by David Marciano. Due South was canceled after the first season and canceled again after the second. The presumably final episode aired in Canada in May of 1996. Almost a year later, in 1997, the show was picked up again. Over the course of two years, 26 additional episodes aired which are covered in this guide. They are often considered as season 3 and 4 of the original series. In 1997, David Marciano was no longer available for the role of Fraser's partner. On screen, his character goes deep undercover with the mob and is replaced with Stanley Raymond Kowalski (Callum Keith Rennie), who poses as Ray Vecchio to protect the cover. Fraser, his new partner, and the deaf half-wolf Diefenbaker continue to battle crime.moreless
