    E! (ended 2005)
Howard Stern changed the face of media with this hit show, which is actually a filmed version of his morning radio show. Howard took freedom of speech to the next level, which kept listeners listening and watchers watching. Howard graduated from Boston University in 1976, where he acquired a first class degree in radio broadcasting. He also began his career as a disc jockey. He was the first D.J. to feature a naked woman on the radio, and has been featuring naked women on his show ever since. When Howard talks, people listen, and when Howard's sidekicks, especially his partner Robin Quivers (who also does news) adds her two-sense in as well its hard to take your ears away. Howards executive producer Gary Dell'Abate is featured a lot in the show, along with Fred Norris, Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling (who is no longer with the show) Artie Lange, "Stuttering" John Melendez, and the list goes on. Howard takes a different approach to interviews, although he does interview celebrities a lot, he occasionally interviews regular people off the street and somehow makes it interesting, which is something very few people in media can do. Howard takes his games to the next level also, whether it be win a night with a porn star, fathers taking off their daughters clothes if they get an answer wrong, homeless jeopardy, evaluting women to see if they're good enough for playboy (brutally honest as well, especially Ralph Circella) and so on. Many porn stars have been featured on Howard's show mostly to look to have intercourse with a listener. Howard has been labeled the "King of Media" and with topics like this he sure has earned that title.moreless

E! Mysteries and Scandals aired on the E! network from March 1998 until the Summer of 2000 and ran for 3 seasons, with a total of 128 episodes. Each episode profiles the life of a specific media figure of the earlier part of the 20th century: Famous actors, such as Spencer Tracy and Ingrid Bergman, directors/producers, (Howard Hughes, Ed Wood), notorious mobsters (Bugsy Siegel), burlesque performers (Gypsy Rose Lee), and even people that had nothing to do with the entertainment industry (Frank Lloyd Wright, Amelia Earhart). Some focused on events or places in Hollywood such as The Hollywood Blacklist, The Knickerbocker Hotel, and The Silent Theatre Murder episodes. As the title states, although they do explore the entire life of the person, all episodes focus on a specific mystery and/or scandal: From silent film stars such as Rudolph Valentino and Clara Bow, to icons of the 50’s and 60’s (Montgomery Clift, Doris Day). It may be the mysterious circumstances of one’s death. Some episodes involved a tragic career downfall, often with drug problems, mental illnesses, or even suicide. A.J. Benza was the smug, cynical host. Interviews with people involved and historians offered a very informative and often entertaining account of the events. And the reenactments always made things more interesting.moreless

What's an afternoon at the movies without a preview fix? Here's a whole 30 minutes full of the latest teasers from all over Hollywood, thanks to host Kerri Kasem and a crack staff who mercilessly pursue leads until they get the hottest footage. (Actually, they just send messengers to the studios, and they are given the newest trailers, but that doesn't sound nearly so dramatic.) The result is the earliest possible peek at everything from big-budget action flicks to those black-and-white European things you'll probably never even see. So watch Coming Attractions and remember: At E!, the future is always just a film clip away. During the series' fifth year, E! began using stars from movies as host & using them for special episodes to promote movies, including John Cho & Kal Penn for 'Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle' & the cast of the ABC sitcom 'Less Than Perfect.'moreless

This show started the classic era of rub-it-in-your-face satire about 5 born-to-host comedian parodiers consisting of Greg Kinnear, John Henson, Hal Sparks and Aiesha Tyler. This show was born in 1991 poking fun at Jerry Springer and many other at TV shows and mocking the celebrity lifestyle and idiots on reality shows. This show aims at jerks, prettyboys or girly-girls, morons or drama kings or queens as well as just plain freaks and behavioral weird-outs! This show also had a sock puppet named Senor` Sock but was put to rest in a dramatic episode of Talk Soup when America's favorite sock puppet was shot by John Henson when Senor` Sock caught rabies. A moment of silence-----Spoofing-off smack-in-the-face and pure sass and smart-head comedic talent in this enjoyable exciting and treat-to-watch fun half-an-hour packed with as much juicy gossip and crack-you-up hilarity that ran from 1991 to 2002! This show was the start-up to the latest "The Soup" which is a whole other, yet incredibly funny and satirical, story. Well despite the annoyance of the hosts as said by many others, pure brilliance my friend. Pure brilliance. Ladies and gentlemen, TALK SOUP!moreless
