Skins is a BAFTA-winning British teen drama that follows a group of teenagers in Bristol, England in their last two pre-college years. The show explores several controversial themes in their grueling realism, including mental illness, dysfunctional family life, the club scene, sexual orientation, substance abuse, and death. All of this in addition to the more typical teen drama plots revolving around friendships, love, and sex. Bryan Elsely and Jamie Brittain wrote the pilot and continue to heavily influence the writing team, also consisting of teens. The show premiered on E4 in January 2007. A unique quality about the show is that it brings in a new group or generation of cast members every two seasons. Skins is currently on its fifth series or season and it's 3rd generation of characters.
The show has served as a launching pad for first-time actors. For many of the stars, it's their first gig, but for many of them, it won't be their last. The first generation consisted of Tony Stonem (Nicholas Hoult), Michelle Richardson (April Pearson), Sid Jenkins (Mike Bailey), Cassie Ainsworth (Hannah Murray), Chris Miles (Joe Dempsie), Jal Fazer (Larissa Wilson), Maxxie Oliver (Mitch Hewer), Anwar Kharral (Dev Patel), and Effy Stonem (Kaya Scodelario).
The second generation consisted of Effy Stonem (Kaya Scodelario), Pandora Moon (Lisa Blackwell), Thomas Tomone (Merveille Lukeba), James Cook (Jack O'Connell), Freddie McLair (Luke Pasqualino), JJ Jones (Ollie Barbieri), Emily Fitch (Kathryn Prescott), Katie Fitch (Megan Prescott), and Naomi Campbell (Lily Loveless).
The third generation consisted of Franky Fitzgerald (Dakota Blue Richards), Alo Creevey (Will Merrick), Rich Hardbeck (Alexander Arnold), Mini McGuinness (Freya Mavor), Liv Malone (Laya Lewis), Grace Violet Blood (Jessica Sula), Nick Levan (Sean Teale), and Matty Levan (Sebastian De Souza).moreless

After the racism controversy of 2007's Celebrity Big Brother, the roles of Big Brother and housemates were switched, as celebrities entered the hijack booth on one day hijacks and twelve exceptionally talented young housemates were at their disposal. The series was hosted by Big Brother's Little Brother host, Dermot O'Leary and was narrated by Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother narrator Marcus Bentley. As it was broadcast on E4 exclusively, Davina McCall, who hosts the Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother series, was not involved at all. Each show like the episodes of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother consist of highlights of the previous day, with the show normally going out at 9pm. However some eviction shows were split into two, like the eviction shows from the main two series, these episodes were moved around and the air-times are noted at an episode level. Rumours were rife about who would be hijacking the house, some celebrities like Paula Abdul were confirmed but then had to pull out at a later date for scheduling conflicts. Other celebrities such as Jake & Dinos Chapman and The Mighty Boosh were mentioned in newspapers as was the rumour that E4 was going to be forced into putting the celebrities into the house and taking control themselves. In February 2008, it was revealed that Celebrity Big Brother will be returning in 2009.moreless

Chained was a British television game show that debuted in March 2001. The reality-style program featured six contestants (three men and three women) who were shackled together and forced to stay this way for seven days. Chained was billed as the "most extreme dating show ever filmed." At the end of each day, the contestants underwent an elimination round similar to that used by the wildly popular "Survivor" series. During the elimination phase, the leader of the chain would pick one contestant to eject from the program, thereby shortening the chain. By the end of episode six, the leader was left with the one contestant with whom they felt the strongest romantic connection. After the final elimination round, the chain leader was faced with a second decision: what to do with the five thousand pound prize. This was left entirely up to the leader: they could choose to split the money among the contestants, split it with their chosen winner, or keep the money entirely for themselves.moreless

The Pilot Show is a 2003 British reality comedy TV show created by Paul Garner, directed by Janet Knipe and produced by Damon Beesley. The show lured minor celebrities and ordinary members of the public into appearing on their show under false pretenses. The creators of the show made the unknowing participants think they were auditioning for important television executives, actually actors, for an up and coming pilot television series. However, the real topic of the show centered around the actors being tricked into believing they were getting a chance to become successful television actors. In one instance, 30,000 British men responded to an opportunity to appear on a reality show "Lapdance Island." Unfortunately for the men, it was all a hoax created for The Pilot Show. Celebrities who appeared on the show include Sharon Horgan, Marc Wootton, Rob Rouse and Steve Oram. The Pilot Show first aired November 14, 2003 and its last orignal airing was December 19, 2003.moreless

The story of Cinderella, is well-known as a classic fairytale and one of the most well-known pantomimes as well. Writer of Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Coronation Street, Jonathan Harvey joins West-end Director Chris Denys, to produce a very different interpretation of the play, featuring Nick Bateman and Melanie Hill from Big Brother 1, Narinder Kaur from Big Brother 2, Jade Goody, Tim Culley and Spencer Smith from Big Brother 3, Anouska Golebiewski from Big Brother 4 and Victor Ebuwa, Kitten Pinder and Marco Sabba from Big Brother 5 as it's cast. The show was presented by Jeff Brazier, taking the place of Celebrity Big Brother in 2004, it was narrated by the main shows normal producer Andy Price. It was aired at 10pm each night, from December 21st 2004 through to January 4th, showing the highlights of the previous day. The cast were allowed to return home for Christmas and New Year. A edited version of the show, with swearing and adult content removed, was also repeated on T4, the morning afterwards, were June Sarpong would normally be joined by Jeff to discuss current events in the house. Although carrying the Big Brother name, the format of this show was very different, there was no evictions, no winners, no prize money (as each cast member was paid to take part) and only one phone-in vote to decide who should play Cinderella. The show was sponsored by Big Brother's original sponsors in the UK, TalkTalk. Channel 4 had to apologise on December 27th, after broadcasting a un-edited version of the 10pm show on T4 during the morning of that day.moreless
