Buffy Summers, the Vampire Slayer, has just arrived in Sunnydale, California. Now she has to figure out how to balance dating, school, a social life, and fighting the forces of evil. Y'know... typical teenage stuff. These are the adventures that happened between the episodes of the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In 2005, Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly) and Jeph Loeb (writer and producer of Smallville) reported that Buffy the Animated Series was in development at Fox Studios. The basic premise for the show was defined by Jeph Loeb as "Buffy: Year One." These episodes were to go back to the first year that the Slayer arrived in Sunnydale and tell the stories that we did not get to see. The biggest difference between this and the first season of the live action series was to be the inclusion of Dawn Summers, Buffy's younger sister. When Dawn was created in Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 5, memories were altered so that everyone would remember her being there from the beginning. These stories would have included Dawn in order to reflect these new memories. In early 2006, Joss announced that the project was dead because they were unable to find a network to buy the series.moreless

Together, with my stalwart sidekick, Arthur, and the magnanimous help of some other folks I know, we form the yin to villainy's malevolent yang. Destiny has chosen us. Wicked men! You face...The Tick!" The life of a superhero is not easy. There are not enough dangers. However, someone must fight evil and protect good. The few who face this challenge have to leave behind comfort, security and a little sanity. Jumping from roof to roof in one single jump, the mysterious blue justice defender The Tick (Patrick Warburton) patrols The City, and his limited knowledge of human life doesn't interfere with his desire to protect society. The frustrated and well-behaved accountant known as Arthur (David Burke) left his job to join The Tick as The Moth, and now they're a crime-fighting duo. Arthur has always secretly wished being a superhero. Well, not so secretly, since he used his moth outfit (which looks more like a bunny) to work. On this fight against injustice, The Tick also counts on Batmanuel (Nestor Carbonell), a Latino superhero who never promotes himself without a worthy cause. His kryptonite is Captain Liberty (Liz Vassey), the government's number one weapon on the battle against supervillains. The Tick is based on the 'cult' comic character created by Ben Edlund. There was an animated version a few years ago. Check it out here. Originally planned as a 2000-2001 midseason replacement after The Simpsons on Sunday nights, and apparently never thought of as anything more than strike filler for a writer's strike which never happened, FOX toppers Sandy Grushow and Gail Berman changed their minds, keeping Malcolm in the Middle in the slot for another year and pushing The Tick back to fall. When The Tick finally went on the air, it was dumped on Thursdays. They didn't promote it very much, and needless to say, it didn't last very long.moreless

    Sam & Max Freelance Police

    Sam & Max Freelance Police

    Follow
    FOX (ended 1998)
Sam and Max is about a dog and a rabbity thing. That's what you would think when you first see it. Then you would notice that the dog is six feet tall and dresses like a Canine Columbo. You would also take note that the rabbit is 3 feet tall and wears nothing but a manic grin. These bizarre creatures are Sam and Max, the Freelance Police. Getting their orders in the form of brief, cryptic phone calls from the Commissioner, a man who they have never met but is the duo's only contact with any real government agency, Sam and Max battle evil villains everywhere from the moon to the past to their back yard. They are assisted by The Geek, a teenage genius who lives in Sam and Max's Sub-Basement of Solitude. Throughout all of their battles and quests, Sam and Max's own style of humor, although zany and weird, allows them to make it in what they do. But, why, oh, why, did FOX cancel this? I think TeleToon still has repeats. Also BBCKids, I think. I have purposely left the episode synopses vague due to the convoluted nature of this show and as to not give too many of the jokes. I could added more detailed summary in the recap area, if requested.moreless
