You can't judge a book by its cover, especially when it's only covered by a miniskirt and baby-tee! A workplace ensemble comedy, Stacked revolves around beautiful Skyler Dayton (Pamela Anderson, Baywatch, V.I.P) who is tired of her non-stop partying lifestyle and bad choices in boyfriends. Wanting a major life change, she wanders into "The Stacks," a small family-run bookstore owned by Gavin DeWitt (Elon Gold, In-Laws) and his brother, Stuart (Brian Scolaro,, Three Sisters). Divorced and unlucky in love himself, Gavin's inclined to regard Skyler as an embodiment of the vacuous, image-obsessed ure he has come to abhor. Stuart, however, is dazzled by Skyler's beauty and, much to Gavin's horror, offers her a job at their store, which she happily accepts as the first step in her quest for a steadier lifestyle. Unhappy that she's going to be minding the till next to such an intimidating hell is the store's sole other employee, Katrina (Marissa Jaret Winokur, "Hairspray"), who doles out doses of realism and cynicism. Rounding out the characters is the store's one steady customer, Harold March (Christopher Lloyd, Back to the Future, Taxi), a preeminent but retired rocket scientist. There is 18-year-old, optimistic-but-not-ambitious Laz (Zachary Knighton, The Prince and Me); his 16-year-old angst-ridden and angry stepsister, Molly (Saige Thompson, 10-8: Officers on Duty); Laz's best friend Fred (Charlie Finn, Super Troopers); and Laz's new girlfriend Lily (Rachelle Lefevre, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow). Home base for Laz and Molly is a blended family formed by the marriage of Laz's dad, Rick (Matthew Glave, The Wedding Singer), and Molly's mom, Michelle (Amy Yasbeck, The Mask). Rick and Molly love all of their children, but they are particularly obsessed with the only product of their union together: the sweet, perfect and wise 8-year-old Gus (Frankie Ryan Manriquez). Laz and Fred both 18, have been friends forever. Just out of high school, and unsure what they want to do with their lives, they take jobs at a mall food court, at the lame "Yippee, Hot Dogs" run by the always yelling Mr.Hut (Maz Jobrani). There, Laz meets the girl of his dreams, the lovely and strong-willed Lily. Optimistic but not ambitious, Laz cuts a deal with his well-meaning but superficial dad Rick and equally superficial stepmom Michelle which allows Laz to continue living rent-free at home. All Laz has to do is keep an eye on his stepsister (Michelle's daughter), the angry, angst-ridden, 16-year-old Molly. Michelle and Rick hope that Laz will help socialize Molly and get her on the right track with the boy she likes - the sweet and very honest Jasper. Courtroom-themed shows have been a staple of syndicated television for many years. One of the earliest and most enduring examples of this realtiy-based genre (long before the term "reality TV" had even been coined) is Divorce Court. It may be hard for some of today's younger audiences to believe, but the original Divorce Court bowed in 1957 and lasted 12 years in daily syndication. A new, harder-edged Divorce Court bowed in 1985 and ran another five seasons. The current version, involving real-life divorcing couples and even more hard-edged, bowed in 1999. In both versions, divorcing couples presented their stories before the judge – Voltaire Perkins in the 1950s and 1960s version; William B. Keene (best known for presiding over the William Bonin "freeway killer" trial) issued his rulings in the 1980s. A new case was presented each day, with usually – but not always – both litigants seeking a divorce. The court reporter briefed the TV audience on the basics (the names, reasons for the divorce, how long they've been married and other issues the soon-to-be ex-couples wanted resolved (including child custody and asset division)). The attorneys each gave opening statements, while the litigants, along one or two supporting witnesses, giving their side of the story and enduring cross-examination. Many of the stories involved accusations of cruelty, adultery, desertion and irreconcilable differences, while the cases often had many strange twists and turns. And – rather than focus on the henpecked wife's affair with the milkman or the husband's meddlesome mother interfering with and ultimately ruining the marriage – Divorce Court focused on more sensational cases with "shock value." For example: • A father who deliberately involved his children in "accidents" so he could collect on the insurance. He would pay them off by offering them presents and other rewards. • The woman who hosted male-stripper parties overnight while her husband was "working late" and suspected of having an affair of his own. Frequently, the judge interviewed minor children involved in cases where child custody was at issue. The judge always rendered his decision by the end of the program and resolved other divorce issues, such as alimony, division of assets and child custody. Although the cases were fiction, they were said to be based on real-life divorce cases. Many of the stories during the 1957 and 1985 versions of Divorce Court explored serious issues, including racism, alcohol and drug abuse, war, cancer, grief, pornography and much more. In later years of the 1980s version, some divorce proceedings were played out over multiple shows; litigants (instead of spending five minutes on the stand and enduring a one-minute cross-examination), now could possibly spend the entire program on the stand. The court reporters interviewed the litigants prior to each show. Unlike the 1957 and 1985 incarnations, which used actors as the litigants and student attorneys to argue each case, the 1999 revival of Divorce Court was promoted as settling real-life divorce cases invovling acutal couples. The couples presented their stories before Judge Mablean Ephriam, who gave her decision and settled the requisite divorce issues at the end of the show. On Wednesday, April 1, 2009 and Thursday, April 2, 2009, a special two-part session of Divorce Court will air starring former evangelical prearcher Ted Haggard and his wife Gayle. Ted was one of America's most influential and respected Christian leaders until his secret life unfolded in the media headlines, with accusations of a drug fueled, affair with a male prostitute. Tune in and find out what Judge Toler has to say to both Ted and Gayle about the scandal that shocked the nation and made the once popular pastor an outcast.moreless

In the first sitcom to take place in the present and back in the 70s, Rewind shows us that life has a strange way of repeating itself no matter how hard we try to move on. Scott Baio stars as Rob Di Paulo, a hard-working marketing executive who feels as though many of the experiences he's having now he experienced before. He has enough trouble navigating office politics and dating the right women, so when facing a dicey situation he flashes back to teenage life for a funny parallel to what he currently is going through. Rob is constantly reminded that history repeats itself, whether he's trying to bail his fast-talking, rapidly rising friend Harv (Mystro Clark, "The Show") out of embarrassing encounters with the company president or making a play for Dana (Christine Taylor, "Party Girl"), a smart and sexy executive who happens to be the girlfriend of the corporate downsizer. In the 70s flashbacks, a whole other world and characters will emerge as Rob's hilarious childhood and friendship with Harv show us glimpses of what made the man what he is today. Adam Zolotin plays the teen Rob, with Chris Edwards portraying the teen Harv. The series was created by Boyd Hale and Tom Burkhard. Effrem Seeger and Susan Seeger are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television in association with Subway Productions. While the series was picked up by FOX for the 1997-98 season and episodes were produced, it was subsequently canceled before any of the episodes were broadcast. Must've been a wonderful series!moreless

The six episode program, whose high-level concept can probably best be described as "What If Joe Schmo Got Married?", features what FOX terms "the ultimate practical joke" being sprung on an unsuspecting would-be reality show contestant. The contestant, Randi Coy, a 23-year-old first grade teacher from Scottsdale, Arizona who believes she is participating in a reality show in which she and her fake fellow contestant "fiancé" must convince their families that they became engaged on another fake as-of-yet unbroadcast reality show. If they can convince everyone of the legitimacy of their engagement and make it through the engagement party, the wedding planner visits, the best friends and family introductions, the bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner and actually the walk down the aisle without anyone discovering the truth, she wins $1,000,000. The catch is that unbeknownst to Randi, Steve (Steven W. Bailey),the other reality contestant who is pretending to be her fiancé, is actually a paid actor, as are all his friends and family. And the big fat obnoxious "Prince-not-so-Charming" and his fellow actors will test the limits of Randi's family and friends with their shocking behavior.moreless

    FOX (ended 2003)
For ten years, "A Minute with Stan Hooper" has closed each episode of "Newsline," America's highest rated newsmagazine. In his "Minute" segments, Stan Hooper (Norm Macdonald, "Norm") has been telling real stories of real people that make up the fabric of America. But now Stan is making his "Minute" more honest. He no longer wants to comment on life from a studio in midtown Manhattan. He wants to live in the vanishing America he has been talking about for a decade - a place where ordinary people enjoy life's simple pleasures, where people have never heard of cappuccino. So, Stan and his wife Molly (Penelope Ann Miller, "The Closer") are moving to Waterford Falls, Wisconsin. Stan thinks this small town they passed through on their honeymoon 15 years ago is the embodiment of the old-fashioned values and idyllic lifestyle he has been championing in his "Minute" reports. Except that the house that Stan and Molly rent comes with a butler, Gary (Brian Howe). And the local cheese mogul, Fred Hawkins' (Fred Willard, "Maybe It's Me") son, Ryan (Eric Lively), who is dating a waitress, Chelsea (Reagan Dale Neis, "Maybe It's Me"), temporarily moves in with Stan and Molly. And that the two guys who own the local diner, Pete (Daniel Roebuck) and Lou Peterson (Garret Dillahunt), are a couple. Stan Hooper is a commentator on life, whose observations and insights will solve some problems while creating others.moreless
