    Baldr Force EXE is an original video animation based on an action-shooter video game called Baldr Force. The OVA centers around an elite group of hackers and their leader Toru Soma, also known as Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf and his hacker cohorts earn their living by hacking information and selling it for profit. After hacking into a system, the hacker can operate a fighting machine known as a simulacrum. Steppenwolf and his hackers are about to disband after one last big job: hacking the military complex computers. They soon find this to be an electronic trap the military has sprung to trick cyber terrorists. The hackers then find themselves stuck in the middle of a battle between a vast army and ruthless terrorists. Many of Steppenwolf's friends are killed or captured, and he is forced to join the military he once stood so vehemently against.moreless

The second series featured animation that was considered poorer than the first season. However its storyline was praised, as the Gunslinger Girl creator Yu Aida was involved as the season's chief writer and supervisor.
