Carrie Bradshaw writes a column about sex and relationships in New York city. With three of her closest friends: Samantha Jones, who owns her own PR firm and is more interested in exciting "one-nighters" than long-term relationships; Miranda Hobbes, a cynical lawyer who prioritizes her career over her erratic lovelife, and Charlotte York, an art gallery curator who is a bit prudish when it comes to sex, but hasn't yet lost her faith in finding true love. Oz is the name on the street for the Oswald State Penitentiary. Our wheelchair-bound narrator Augustus Hill (Harold Perrineau Jr.) takes us through the wacky world of Emerald City, the experimental unit started by Tim McManus (Terry Kinney). There's shankin' and lovin' and cussin' and fightin' but in the end, HBO makes a damn fine prison drama. It's gritty. And there you have it.moreless

In 1999, Jack Black and Kyle Gass filmed a series of 6 comedic shorts for HBO. Each episode showed Tenacious D during all of their adventures while trying to make it big. Each episode contained an open mike performance with Tenacious D, these performances are still the only place you can hear a few of their rare classic songs.

Plans were made to extend the show to a full 30 minutes and write ten more episodes, but when it came time to renew their contract, The D had a falling out with HBO, and plans for any future episodes were scrapped. Much to the delight of fans though, all 6 episodes were included in the Tenacious D-The Complete Master Works DVD that was released on November 4th 2003.moreless

A series spotlighting 55 of America's prime standup comics, caught in the act, usually at the Vic Theatre in Chicago. Each edition showed a single performer working an enthusiastic live audience. The fact that the broadcasts were made for screening by cable company HBO ensured that the comedians could be liberal with their vocabulary and choice of subject matter. New series alert!! Starting on August 19th on HBO and every week from them, times vary with area.moreless
