Dead Like Me

18-year-old George Lass (Ellen Muth) dies when a toilet from the MIR space station falls from the sky and hits her. However, soon she discovers that afterlife really does exist... she becomes a reaper - she helps in catching the souls of people moments before they're destined to die. Then she meets a group of reapers who collect people's souls. The main reaper is Rube (Mandy Patinkin), who is always playing smart, Roxy (Jasmine Guy), a reaper with an attitude, Mason (Callum Blue), a confused and funny reaper and Daisy (Laura Harris), a beautiful reaper full of mysteries. The other characters include George's family - mother Joy (Cynthia Stevenson), father Clancy (Greg Kean) and sister Reggie (Britt McKillip), who each have their own way to deal with George's death. Now that she has a new life, George will try to deal with her new job as a reaper and the fact that she is dead. While learning some important lessons, George gets a job at Happy Time, a office lead by Delores Herbig (played by Christine Willes), a funny woman who is always optimistic and tries to be everybody's friend while leading a perfect life. The other recurring characters include Crystal (Crystal Dahl), a Happy Time secretary that does not talk much and Der Waffle House's waitress Kiffany (Patricia Idlette). The only bad move was Rebecca Gayheart's removal from the show. Apparently, she was unable to renew her contract so her character was sadly written out of the show. The main description for the show could easily be described as "funny and morbid". It debuted on Showtime in 2003. The show quickly became an absolute hit and some people even paid to view Showtime just to watch the show that everyone talks about. However, just a year after, when season 2 finished, the show was unexpectedly canceled by Showtime, which was one of the worst moves ever for a TV station like that. Then, MGM tried to sell the show to another station, but the attempt failed and the show was left dead.moreless

Nickelodeon's Ned's Defied School Survival Guide chronicles the wacky adventures of Ned Bigby and his best pals Jennifer "Moze" Mosely and Simon "Cookie" Nelson-Cook at James K. Polk Middle School, as "every-kid" Ned shatters the fourth wall to share tips and tricks on navigating middle school or junior high hurdles.

Ned's not super cool, and he has no superpowers. He is, however, witty, well-groomed, upbeat and self-aware. Moreover, with more than a little help from his two best friends, he's equipped to conquer middle school minefields. From crushing bullies to crushes, from off- the-wall, mean and cool teachers to pop quizzes, elections and detentions, Ned knows that nothing, including the seventh grade, is as bad as it seems, and friendship matters most.

Characters:

Ned Bigby is pretty much your average 13-year-old. He hangs with anyone who he thinks is funny and cool, like his two best buds Moze and Cookie. Ned's not exactly popular, but he does have a couple of things going for him: He's smart and observant. Ned knows what's up. Which is probably why Ned's basically an optimistic guy. He realizes that nothing, including 7th grade, can be as bad as it seems. Of course, a few survival tips definitely come in handy now and then.

Moze is a smart, funny and totally insecure seventh grader. She's never really been "one of the girls," since she spends most of her time with her best friend and next door neighbor, Ned. But these days Moze is actually starting to get into some typically girlie stuff-like fashion and, you know, boys-and she's decided she's in need of some actual female friends. Makes sense, right? Try telling that to Ned...

Cookie is Ned's OTHER best friend-probably because their last names have been alphabetically linked since second grade. Cookie comes from a super-rich family, but doesn't want anyone to know it. He actually has a limo drop him off at Ned's house so he can ride the bus with everyone else. Cookie's a major brain who's, well...kinda weird. He suffers from chronic bed-head, his fashion sense is non-existent and despite his super-smarts, he can be pretty clueless. Oh yeah, and he's wired to the web 24/7, which comes in handy since he seems to wind up in wacky situations 24/7 too. Did we mention he was kinda weird?

Gordy School janitor who doesn't clean, Ned's adviser. Often heard saying "I'll let the night guy do it." He is simple minded, like his Weasel catching attempts, yet very complex, like in his book. A good hearted man, he just wants to help the kids, though it's the kids that usually help him. Mr. Chopsaw Wood shop teacher, Moze's adviser. In episodes he's in, he often helps her with problems (i.e. Clothes). Has a prosthetic hand... rumor is he's made of wood. Tough and gritty, then good spirited. Mr. Monroe Life Science teacher, full of life! He's another good person. Although a little girly, he wants to help the kids. Ned calls him "a great teacher" probably in part because he doesn't punish Ned like all the others. Mr. Wright History teacher. In episodes without Mr. Chopsaw, Moze often goes to him for advice. He's a good teacher, and always knows what to say. Kind of a usual nice TV show teacher, kind yet not always very observant. The good guy. Ms. Dirga Stern P.E. teacher. Tough, athletic, yet caring. She wishes to help the kids get through Middle School, but she's still a teacher and is not going to let the road be easy. Mr. Sweeney Evil Science teacher. He's very into science, and just wants everyone else to be as well. As we see in "Notebooks" he wants everyone to do well, but when given the chance will be evil. Has a good evil laugh. Lisa Zemo Allergy sufferer, adores Cookie. Billy "Bully" Loomer Polk school bully, adores Moze. Claire Sawyer Future lawyer, helpful in a pinch.
Suzie Crabgrass Moze's rival, object of Ned's desire. Coconut Head Bad haircut, good heart.
Seth Powers Hottie basketball player. Moze has, or at least had, a crush on him. He always wears the same green and yellow warm up suit and has a basketball spinning on his finger. Not very interested in school.
Martin Qwerly Talkative smart kid. A friend of the gang's. Not very popular either. A little on the weird side. Has a twin sister seen in "Tutors." Student Council V.P.
Crony Loomer's henchman. Doesn't talk to much, and follows Loomer around. He is very dependent, seen in "New Semester" when Loomer doesn't want him anymore, he runs off to find someone else to copy... twice. He is also the best cross stitcher at Polk
Nurse Hunsucker Polk nurse. Though it may not seem it at the beginning of the show, she is caring and really goes out of her way to make sure the kids are okay. In the episode "Double Dating" she comes to the school at night to help Ned with an upset stomach.
Ms. Enstile Beautiful Spanish teacher, scene in "Teachers." Due to not being able to focus on anything but her, Cookie transfers out of her
The huge crew VERY into make-up, and the girl bullies of the school. They adore Ned beyond belief.

The Andy Griffith Show

The Andy Griffith Show is definitely a TV classic. It ran from 1960 to 1968, producing 249 episodes.

The main character, Andy (Andy Griffith), was a widowed father of the polite little boy named Opie (Ron Howard) and is a sheriff, who works with nervous and very suspecting Barney Fife (Don Knotts). They all live in the nice southern town of Mayberry. But, Mayberry can get a little dangerous when the town drunk Otis Campbell (Hal Smith) is on the loose. Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn) is Barney's sweetheart, although Andy had to help him describe his feelings to her. Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) is the very loving and caring, but stern housekeeper for Andy and Opie. Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) is the bone-head, thoughtless, but humorous character. He is a gas attendant. Goober Pyle (George Lindsey) is Gomer Pyle's cousin. They are very alike, you could say, and arrives in Mayberry when Gomer decides to enlist in the United States Marine Core. The show had two spin-offs: Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. and Mayberry R.F.D.

The Ren & Stimpy Show

Nickelodeon (ended 1996)

The show follows two characters - Ren, a crazy Chihuahua - and - Stimpy, an incredibly stupid cat - as they think up to all kinds of hair brained schemes and get themselves into some sticky situations. Creator John Kricfalusi (John K.) first pictured them as separate characters. Back then, Kricfalusi worked for Filmation and always yearned to bring back the style and energy of the classic Warner Bros. Bob Clampett cartoons of the golden age. So his best entertainment was making his own characters and casting them in his own imaginary stories for the benefit of his equally tired co-workers. In the late 80s, Kricfalusi started to break the barrier for animation with 'remakes' of Mighty Mouse and Beany & Cecil. But this was just the beginning. John K. brought back his doodles of the wily Chihuahua and the idiotic cat to star in their own cartoon. Finally in 1989, he, Jim Smith and Bob Camp came together to create 'Big House Blues' the first cartoon to star his creations, Ren and Stimpy. In 1990, Viacom's kids' network, Nickelodeon got hold of the film and asked Kricfalusi and his crew to make an entire series of Ren and Stimpy shorts and from that moment on, Spümcø was formed. The Ren and Stimpy Show debuted in August 1991 with a two-part episode, 'Stimpy's Big Day / The Big Shot' and became an instant hit. It was the third Nicktoon ever to be aired on the Network alongside Doug and Rugrats. Nick execs quickly sought argument over certain scenes in the shorts and Spümcø fought back. Spümcø introduced a new character come second season, Ren and Stimpy's master, George Liquor. Nick hated George, because they thought he was too mean and his last name sounded too much like 'lick her'. But the real reason why George never made it was because he was simply too 'adult' by Nick's standards. Due to controversial setbacks and numerous edits, Nick finally fired Spümcø and got hold of Ren and Stimpy, therefore taking John K.'s creations away from him. Nick then lured away two of John K.'s best friends and co-workers Bob Camp and Billy West and created Games Animation to 'take care' of Ren and Stimpy. On November 14, 1996 Nick aired the last episode produced by Games, 'A Scooter for Yaksmas' and finally cancelled the show after a 5 season run.moreless

Gilligan's Island centered around a group of people who were stranded on an uncharted deserted island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. They all were on a boat tour, which found itself in the middle of a storm leading them to crash on an island! Those stranded include, Gilligan, the Skipper, a millionaire (Thurston Howell III) and his wife (Lovey Howell), a movie star (Ginger Grant), a professor (known as "The Professor"), and Mary Ann. Gilligan was the first mate on the boat, the SS Minnow. Most episodes dealt with the castaways trying to get off the island, but their attempts seemed to always be foiled by Gilligan. Reaper

Throughout Sam's life, he always wondered why his mom and dad were so easy on him. Whether it was sports, school, career choices, or picking on his little brother Kyle, Sam always got away with everything. Because of it, he decided to drop out of college and take a dead beat job, wasting most of his time playing video games and wishing he could ask his co-worker Andi out. However, everything changes in Sam's life once he turns 21 and finds out the reason his parents let him get over was because they sold his soul to the devil before he was born.

Satan explains to Sam that he must serve as his bounty hunter, tracking down souls that have escaped from Hell. Initially, Sam refuses to accept his fate but he realizes the grave consequences of breaking a deal with the devil. He is armed with various vessels to collect the escapees. Sam finds that the work is dangerous and frightening even with the goof ball help of his friends and fellow slackers Sock and Ben, and Sock's former girlfriend, Josie. As bizarre as his life becomes, Sam feels good about his newfound "missions", removing evil souls from the world and sending them back to where they belong. Along with his friends and his vessel of the week, Sam prepares to face his destiny as the "reaper".

Dr. Heathcliff "Cliff" Huxtable was an OBGYN (obstetrician/gynecologist), and his wife Clair was a successful attorney. They had five children: Sondra, Denise, Theo, Vanessa and Rudy. Sondra was rarely seen during the first season because she was away at Princeton. She became a regular character in the second season, and was usually seen with her on-again off-again beau, Elvin. They eventually married and had twins; but not before stunning their families by announcing the fact that Elvin was dropping out of medical school to open a camping store, and Sondra was dropping out of law school to help her husband in his endeavor. Denise was the "unique" child, the black sheep of the family. She had her own way of doing things, right down to the style of clothing she wore. After graduating high school, she left for Hillman College in 1986 (a year later, this would become the setting for the spin-off A Different World), but returned two years later with news that she was dropping out. She eventually decided to become a photographer's assistant, and left for Africa for a year. When she returned, she had yet another bombshell: she had become a wife and mother while over in Africa. She married a navy man, Martin; who had a child, Olivia, from a previous marriage. During the final season, Denise travelled with Martin as he was stationed in Asia. Olivia stayed behind with Cliff and Clair. Theo, Vanessa and Rudy were probably the most popular of the five kids, due to the fact that they were seen more often then Sondra and Denise. Most of the stories revolved around the three youngest children. Stories dealt mainly with dating and school life, as well as Cliff's never-ending fear that his children would never leave home. In the final episode, Theo graduated from college. The Cosby Show was for the late '80s what Dallas was for the early eighties. Dallas was the number one show during most of the early eighties; but then situation comedies bumped all prime-time soaps down. The Cosby Show proved to be fierce competition, becoming the number one show from 1985-1990. In fact, in 8 years it never dropped below the top 20. Lilly: Lilly is the loud, energetic friend of Miley. She enjoys all of the fun that being a pop star's friend brings. Though she still needs to adapt to being backstage, Hannah is there to keep her in line. Lilly is Miley's friend. Jackson: He may be the craziest one. Asking dad for money, impressing girls, (or at least trying) and doing everything the hard way is what he is all about. He is Miley's brother. Robbie: Miley's dad has to be the dad and the mom of the family which includes cleaning and discipline. But along with that, Robbie also tries to spend some time with the kids and be the cool parent. Seeing a Duel Disk and deck, Yugi thinks he must be a duelist, Jaden confirms this as he says he's on his way for his entrance exams for the Duel Academy. Yugi decides to give him a Winged Kuriboh card, saying it is a lucky card, and he wishes Jaden luck on his exams as he runs off.

As Jaden enters the school, he befriends Alexis Rhodes, Syrus Truesdale, Bastion Misawa, Zane Truesdale, and Chazz Princeton. Together they experience many adventures while trying to stop evil from spreading!

These adventures show how much they drive him crazy! Character Guide: Billy: A happy-go-lucky kid who's cheerful disposition seems to make him completely oblivious to the fact that he is an idiot! Mandy: A sour, unhappy firm girl who seems to "babysit" Grim and Billy. Grim, or The Grim Reaper: He seems to have a scary effect on people, but Billy and Mandy gain control of Grim after a game of limbo over the live of Billy's hamster. Irwin: Billy and Mandy's friend. At some times, Irwin is afraid of Billy, and has a crazy love obsession with Mandy even though she utterly dispised him with a strong passion. Created by former Nickelodeon artist Jim Jinkins in 1990 and produced through Jinkins' production company, Jumbo Pictures Inc., Doug follows the life of an average kid named Doug Funnie. In 1991, the Nickelodeon produced episodes began airing and we find 11 1/2 year-old Douglas Yancey Funnie and his family (Phil, Theda and sister Judy), having just moved from their former residence in Bloatsburg, to the new town of Bluffington. There he meets Skeeter, Patti, Roger and Beebe, and his new life in a new town begins! Doug writes in his journal and sometimes even imagines himself as a superhero named Quailman to help him out with difficult situations and decisions. In 1994 after 52 episodes, Doug was cancelled by Nickelodeon. In February 1996, Disney Enterprises bought Jumbo Pictures, Inc. and ordered new episodes of "Doug" to be produced (re-named "Brand Spanking New! Doug" and then later "Disney's Doug"). Disney aired the series as part of ABC's Saturday Morning lineup in the fall of 1996 (following Disney's purchasing of the network), and the show became part of Disney's One Saturday Morning block in the fall of 1997. These episodes aired on ABC's SATURDAY MORNING block (later renamed Disney One Saturday Morning) from September 7, 1996 to September 9, 2000. In 1999, after 3 seasons, 65 additional episodes and a feature-length movie, "Disney's Doug" went out of production. Doug spawned merchandise such as clothes, toys and a number of books. Rocko's Modern Life

Rocko's Modern Life is the story of a wallaby, born and raised in the sunburned land Down Under, Australia. A few years ago, he left the comfort of his native continent and came to live in the United States (because of a bully named Dingo). Since then, he's managed to pick up an assortment of oddball, but well-meaning, friends including a gluttonous Heffer Wolfe (actually a Steer who was adopted by a family of wolves), a faithful pet pooch named Spunky, and a paranoid hypochondriac turtle named Filbert with a personal philosophy. "Turn the page, wash your hands, turn the page, wash your hands."

Other characters that frequently appeared on the show are The Bigheads (Rocko's irritable next-door neighbors), Dr. Paula Hutchison (an always smiling doctor-of-all-trades and love interest of Filbert), and two slippery characters known as The Chameleon Brothers (Chame and Leon). These folks live in a bizarre district known as O-Town, which is actually under the industrial monopoly of a huge corporation called Conglom-O (their slogan is 'We Own You'). Stephen Hillenberg still found success after Rocko, when he created SpongeBob SquarePants in 1999.

Most of the episodes revolve around Rocko trying to cope with the absurdities and difficulties in modern life and living in a place like O-Town, you can bet there are plenty of those!

Main Characters Rocko: A very "modern" wallaby from Australia who wears a blue shirt with purple triangles. His best friend is Heffer, and his pet dog is named Spunky.

Heffer: A very friendly yellow steer who has green spiked hair and wears blue suspenders with red pants. He loves EATING!

Filburt: All cartoons have a brainiac. In Rocko's Modern Life, it's Filburt. He's a turtle with funky glasses and green pants.

Spunky: A black-spotted, dumb dog. Rocko loves Spunky, so Spunky's life isn't so bad. Loves eating the Bighead's hedges, garbage and bathes in his own spit.

Freaks and Geeks

The universal experience of teenagehood as lived by the regular old freaks and geeks in a Michigan high school, circa 1980, is the subject of this wistful comedy-drama executive-produced by Emmy-winner Judd Apatow and series creator Paul Feig. Revolving around the lives of freak and geek siblings Lindsay and Sam Weir (Linda Cardellini, John Daley), the show includes the everyday fears, humiliations and little triumphs of adolescents past, present and, no doubt, future,too. For sophomore Lindsay, life is getting difficult. Jolted by the death of her grandmother, she dons her dad's old Army jacket and fights the one-girl battle of McKinley High. The allure of being a champion "mathlete" is losing its appeal, and her goals of college and career feel somehow irrelevant. She's alienated. Luckily, though, she's not really alone. Drifting away from her studious friends, she finds herself increasingly drawn to others like her, the "freaks" who ' refuse to accept the status quo. Among them are Daniel (James Franco), a friendly but also a dangerous guy who seems to like Lindsay, as does his bud Nick (Jason Segel), who dreams of stardom as a rock-and-roll drummer a la Led Zeppelin's Jon Bonham. Then there's Ken (Seth Rogen), an acerbic rebel, and Kim (Busy Philipps), a tough girl who doesn't go easy on Lindsay. Meanwhile, Lindsay's freshman brother Sam navigates high school like a mouse in a maze. Threatened at every turn, and attracted to an unattainable cheerleader, Sam faces his own set of obstacles. But he has good friends. Sure, they're "geeks," but so is Sam. There's Neal (Samm Levine), a wise-acre, sci-fi loving geek, and bespectacled Bill (Martin Starr), a classic looking nerd who's unfortunately not as brainy as he appears. On the homefront, Lindsay and Sam suffer through the good intentions of their overbearing mom (Becky Ann Baker) and their hardwired dad Joe Flaherty), who turns every teen issue into a matter of life and death. Unfortunately the show was canceled after only 12 episodes had aired, this was due to the poor ratings obtained. A fan-led campaign caused NBC to broadcast three more episodes in July 2000, but these would not be seen until September of that year when the cable channel Fox Family aired them in syndication.moreless

Aqua Something You Know Whatever

Aqua Teen Hunger Force follows the adventures of the aptly named Aqua Teen Hunger Force, a group of mystery-solving fast food items. The team consists of Master Shake, or Shake, a rather sadistic, lazy, ordering milkshake who loves to torture Meatwad. Frylock, the floating box of fries, is the brains the group, and contains the one thing that the rest of the group lacks: common sense. Meatwad is a loving, caring, gentle ball of meat that crawls wherever he goes, who is frequently tortured by Shake.

Supporting/reccuring characters include Carl, the next-door neighbor of the Aqua Teens, a pure guy, after women and booze. Also has an above-ground pool that Shake frequently has the team laze around in without permission. Ignigknot and Err are creatures from the moon, called Mooninites. They seem to believe that they are vastly superior to the humans of Earth, and their behavior reflects that belief as such. Dr. Weird and Steve have thier own laboratory, in which they produce things that are, well... weird. Their antics have sometimes lead to villainous creatures that the team has had to face, such as The Rabbot.

One of the most misleading things about the show is the title. The characters have little affiliation with water, besides when Shake orders them to laze around in Carl's pool. Their ages are not known, Frylock and Shake seem to be older than teens, and Meatwad seems to be younger than one. Hunger seems to reflect the fact that the main characters are fast-food items. They are no kind of force whatsoever, as due to the laziness of everyone but Frylock, the team shows little effectiveness in solving mysteries.
