    Lockup

    Lockup

    MSNBC
Lockup is a prison documentary series that airs on MSNBC. It is a behind-the-scenes look at life in some of Americaâs most notorious prison systems. The show aims to delve inside the minds of both hardened criminals and the guards that try to keep them in line. Every day is tough for both groups, as conditions inside these prisons are despicable and almost as dangerous as the criminals the asylums hold. Even behind bars, these felons are still a threat to the guards and to each other; prisoner-on-prisoner violence and beatings are a very common occurrence. Unlike other prison shows which focus on prisoners of all types, Lockup focuses on only the most threatening criminals in America. Some famous prisons profiled by the show include San Quentin State Prison, Folsom Prison, Rikers Island Prison, and Riverbend Maximum Security Prison. The Lockup franchise also features Lockup: Raw and Lockup: Extended Stay.moreless

    Imus In The Morning

    MSNBC
Imus In The Morning has aired in one form or another on radio since the 1970's. In September 1996, Imus debuted on MSNBC. It's one of the network's highest-rated shows.

In 2005, MSNBC enabled Imus to leave the confines of the WFAN studio and built a set for his show at their Secaucus, New Jersey headquarters. Charles McCord joins him in this studio, as well as many of the guests. The remainder of the staff (Bernard McGuirk, Chris Carlin et al) join the show from the WFAN studios.

Every year from the last week in May until the first week of September, Imus broadcasts from a studio at his ranch in New Mexico. The remainder of the cast continues to broadcast from New York and New Jersey. The show was canceled by MSNBC and WFAN in April of 2007, following Imus' remarks about the Rutgers woman's basketball team. December 3, 2007, Imus and the crew returned to radio and television, on WABC and RFD TV.moreless

    Caught On Tape

    Caught On Tape

    MSNBC
Caught On Tape is news program based on real life criminal encounters that are recorded and rebroadcast on video. With video cameras in most convenience stores and gas stations, mounted to most police cars and news helicopters, and sitting in the pocket of most ordinary civilians, when a crime happens these days, it's increasingly likely that it will end up recorded somehow. John Seigenthaler hosts this outrageous news program, featuring real clips of crimes from robberies to personal assaults and more. See the high speed chase after a botched bank robbery, witness the disturbing assault on a woman at a concert, watch hidden video capture of people trying to hire a professional hit-man. With every segment, the victims, pursuing officers, and various experts and witnesses sound off on the melee that ensues when things get out of hand. And of course, the the best part is everything is real. Tense, fast paced, and dangerous, Caught On Tape offers a front row seat to criminal activity like most people never see.moreless

    Lockup Extended Stay

    Lockup Extended Stay

    MSNBC
Lockup Extended Stay is an NBC documentary series produced by 44 Productions that leads viewers into the fascinating and occasionally frightening world of high-security American prisons, revealing the gangs, guards, and unique social customs that make up the world of long-term prisoners. Each episode of this series examines a different aspect of prison life at one of America's over-populated prisons that primarily house convicts sentenced to multiple decades behind bars. Many episodes deal with the prevalence of gang violence and the very specific rules an inmate must follow if he or she wishes to stay out of trouble with the more powerful prisoners. Other episodes deal with other aspects of prison life, including the development of romantic relationships and the psychological and emotional effects that long-term isolation has on the prisoners. Some episodes document the special events put on by the prison to improve the quality of life inside, such as San Quentin's poetry slam. Lockup Extended Stay is an interesting series and a must-see for fans of Lockup and Lockup Raw.moreless
