Producer Michael Moore presented this newsmagazine as a humorous presentation that reports on things that big corporate media tends to avoid. These topics include a running feature on crimes by business corporations, positive reports on labour union activity, debunking right-wing political claims, and the general exploitation of the little person by the privileged and powerful in society.moreless

Life Stories is a documentary series from the National Broadcasting Company that tells the stories of Americans with serious medical problems and adversities they overcome on their paths to recovery. Actor Robert Prosky hosts and narrates the show that turns medical cases into prime-time drama. The season starts with the Lifestory of an executive contractor, Don Chapin and his battle with colon cancer. NBC brings cameras into Chaplin's consultation with his doctors and into his home to show viewers exactly what he goes through each day battling his illness. Rebecca McManus and Steve Arnold show up in the series with fertility problems, and patient Frank Brody goes into detail in telling viewers what a heart attack feels like. The show varies in content with Prosky presenting Lifestories ranging from brain tumor therapy, alcoholism, AIDS/HIV and bone marrow transplant. The series ends with the Lifestory of an adolescent basketball player, who suffered a stroke during a game.moreless
