Pogue is a technology writer, columnist, and commentator who has worked for the New York Times, CBS News Sunday Morning, and CNBC. He has written and co-written many books on technology, including seven titles in the For Dummies series, and his own how-to books called the Missing Manual series. Born in Ohio to an attorney father, David went to Yale University, graduating with a Distinction in Music. He spent a decade working for the Office of Music Theatre International, while moonlighting as a Broadway musical conductor. In 2000 he began serving as the New York Times personal-tech columnist, with a weekly column, State of the Art. Now David is working with NOVA to bring a mini-series called Making Stuff, where he explores the latest in materials science. From carbon nanowires to spider silk made from goats, stab-proof clothing, invisibility cloaks, smart pills and much more.
