Manny Rivera is a regular 13-year-old boy who is having trouble using his powers as the masked warrior El Tigre. His best friend Frida is very protective, but she can also get him into trouble. He wants to be good, but being bad is much more fun! He comes from a long line of guys with superpowers. His dad a former superhero, once known as the White Pantera, wants Manny to grow up good and fight evil just like him. But Manny's Grandpapi, a retired super villain known as the Puma Loco, thinks Manny should go on the darkside. Created by Jorge R. Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua, a husband and wife team, El Tigre is a wonderful Mexican-folk inspired cartoon, that all audiences should enjoy.

Basic Notes

The show originated in the U.S. and airs on Nickelodeon. Each season has 20 episodes, and takes about 8-10 months to complete one. The running time is around 25 mins. for each episode. El Tigre translated in English means "The Tiger" which resembeles Manny's superpowers. Currently new episodes air at 10:30 a.m. EST on saturday mornings. The pilot episode ranked in over 3 million viewers making it the highest rated saturday morning show ever to air on Nickelodeon.

Manny Rivera/El Tigre

For the most part, Manny Rivera is a well-meaning kid with the energy and the spirit of a hero. But Manny is no goody-two-shoes. He's also got some serious supervillian potential. When he spins his mystical belt buckle, Manny transforms into the brave and powerful El Tigre, who struggles with whether to use his superpowers for good or evil.

Frida Faurez

Frida is Manny's best friend. But she's not always the best influence on Manny. She always has his back when he's in trouble, but she is usually the one who gets him into it. Frida is up for just about anything, the superpower stuff doesn't phase her.

Rodolfo Rivera/White Pantera

Manny's father Rodolfo is a good old-fashioned dad, complete with rules and orders that Manny doesn't always follow. He is also a semi-retired super-hero known as the White Pantera.

Grandpapi Rivera/Puma Loco

Manny's Grandpapi is the nicest old man out there. But he is also evil to the core, and wants Manny to be the same way. He is a retired super-villian known as Puma Loco. To describe his relationship with his son (Manny's super-hero father) it would be: love/hate.moreless

All That

Nickelodeon (ended 2005)

All That began in April 1994 on Nickelodeon. When the show made its debut, it showcased future careers for the cast. Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell got their own show in 1996 entitled Kenan & Kel. Kenan Thompson became a Saturday Night Live cast member in 2003. Lori Beth Denberg became a regular on The Steve Harvey Show in its second season. Alisa Reyes was the voice of LaCienega Boulevardez on The Proud Family. In All That's 7th Season, there was an all new cast.

The show has inspired the cult hit movie Good Burger and the 1996 CD All That: The Album, which features the theme song sung by TLC, audio of sketches, and other musicians who have performed on the show, mostly from the time when hip-hop musicians were frequently the musical guest. The actual CD has a picture of the original cast on it. Both the DVD/VHS for Good Burger and the TV show's soundtrack are available on Amazon.com. The show originally was taped at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida before moving to the Nickelodeon at Sunset studio in Los Angeles, California.

Salute Your Shorts is about a group of kids at summer camp. The camp is run by the heard-but-never-seen Dr. Kahn. The kids spend their time trying to harass the camp counselor, Kevin "Ug" Lee. Nickelodeon continued to show re-runs of Salute Your Shorts for several years after its cancellation. It was taken off the air sometime around 1998. While most kids think their own problems are the end of the world, there's one girl whose problems really are the end of the world. My Life as a Teenage Robot is the story of Jenny, a super-powered robot with a super-sensitive teenage heart. Her primary function is to protect the planet from certain disaster, but, like all teenagers, she has her own ideas about how she would like to live. Defending the Earth has become a mundane chore, and she would rather do more exciting things like go to high school and be allowed to drive the family car. My Life as a Teenage Robot, a spin-off from Nickelodeon's hit Oh Yeah! Cartoons (under the name My Neighbor Has A Teenage Robot), was created by Rob Renzetti and is executive produced by Renzetti and Fred Seibert. This show is the third of three spinoffs of Oh Yeah! Cartoons, the others being ChalkZone and Fairly OddParents. Characters: Global Robotic Response Unit XJ9, aka Jenny Wakeman - XJ9 is just like any other robot designed to defend the planet. She's powerful, confident, clever, brave...oh yeah, and she's gotta be home by 9! Jenny, as XJ9 likes to be called, is spunky, dramatic and prone to major mood swings (sound familiar?). She's also obsessed with pop stars, teen magazines and fitting in with the cool kids. Just like a regular teenager, right? Well, yeah...if regular teenagers were 6 feet tall and made of metal! XJ9's creator (a.k.a. mom) is constantly reminding her of her planetary responsibilities, but Jenny's tired of saving the world and just wants to hang out with her friends. What's a teenage robot to do? Bradley "Brad" Carbunkle - Brad is the boy next door. He's Jenny's closest neighbor and her best friend. Brad's not really interested in the stuff his friends at school are into, and wishes he were more like Jenny. He loves a good adventure and he's dying for a chance to explore the world outside high school. To Jenny, Brad's the reference point to all things "teenaged." He's the gatekeeper of "cool." Only Brad gets bored talking about all that lame teenager stuff and jumps at every chance to get in on Jenny's universe-saving superhero action. Guess the grass really IS greener on the other side of the fence... Tucker "Tuck" Carbunkle - Unlike his older brother Brad, Tuck is suspicious of the unknown and likes to be surrounded by familiar things and faces. He has a whole assortment of hidden fears and anxieties (let's just say he's not a fan of ferris wheels!) At first, Tuck was terrified of Jenny too, but after an unplanned tag-along on a meteor-blasting mission he's become her biggest fan. Well, next to Brad. Despite his fears, Tuck insists on going along on Jenny and Brad's adventures. Though being the typical trouble-making little brother he is, he usually ends up doing more damage than good. Mrs. Norene "Nora" Wakeman - Mrs. Wakeman had been struggling for years to rid the world of evil through the use of her inventions. And then, in a moment of brilliance, she created: XJ9 (a.k.a. Jenny). More mad scientist than understanding mom, Mrs. Wakeman can teach Jenny to battle almost anything that comes her way, but she's not so hot at talking about teenage stuff like clothes and boys. Mrs. Wakeman just doesn't get why Jenny would rather go to the fair than defend the Earth. But isn't having a mom who doesn't understand you, like, Rule #1 for being a teenager? Brittany and Tiffany Crust - Brit and Tiff sit securely on the top of the social hierarchy at school. Brit is the master of the putdown, and Tiff can intimidate anyone in school. All the world domination-plotting super-villians on the planet don't even come close to wielding the power these two cliqueish cousins hold in their hands, and no one is more aware of that than Jenny. But Jenny's arrival on the scene throws this tyranical twosome for a loop. Her physical power makes Tiff's intimidation impossible, and the curiosity she generates threatens Brit's center-of-attention status. Suddenly, Jenny is Brit and Tiff's public enemy number one! Unfortunately, the one thing Jenny's superpowers can't stop is her own desire to be popular! Sheldon Lee - Even though he knows he's pretty low down on the totem-poll of popularity, Sheldon is satisfied as a budding engineer and a comic book fan. And if that makes him a geek, so be it! He's quite content to spend his time perfecting mechanical projects and pouring over comics. Until he meets Jenny, that is. Jenny's the perfect combination of superhero and suped-up machine, and Sheldon falls for her-fast! He's constantly giving her gizmos and gadgets as gifts, but they never seem to do the trick. LazyTown is the laziest town you'll ever visit. Or at least, it would be, if the town grump, Robbie Rotten, had his way. Unfortunately for him, Stephanie, the mayor's vibrant pink-haired niece (played by Broadway's own Julianna Rose Mauriello), has come to LazyTown and she would rather have the kids outdoors playing sports with her than indoors playing video games all the time. She and her uncle enlist the help of Sportacus 10, a superhero with great athletic skills and abilities, who encourages the kids to get out and play, run around, dance or whatever else it takes to get their move on! Soon everyone's out joining Stephanie and Sportacus in all sorts of fun adventures including Stephanie's Uncle Milford (Mayor Meanswell to everyone else); Bessie Busybody, the town gossip; Ziggy, a cheerful kid who loves candy; Stingy, a seven-year-old who sometimes lets jealousy and selfishness get the best of him; Trixie, the smartest of the kids but she's also the most mischievous; and Pixel, an addictive video gamer and technology wiz.

The only one not joining in on the fun is Robbie Rotten who fears that LazyTown is losing it's lazy reputation thanks to Sportacus. So, Robbie sets out to get rid of the blue-clad hero forever, or, at the very least, make him look like a fool. However, it's usually Rotten himself who looks the fool in the end.

This hyper series features creator Magnus Scheving as Sportacus. Magnus, a silver medalist in the World Championships in aerobics and two-time European Champion in aerobics, is not only the star, writer and director of show, he's also the CEO, creator and co-founder of LazyTown Entertainment. LazyTown Entertainment was a company created in 1995 to promote healthy life for children through videos, books, games, sporting goods and much more. Nick Jr. turned to Magnus and LazyTown Entertainment to create a new series for the network and what they came up with was the energetic and colorful LazyTown. The show features CGI, puppetry and animatronic work from award winning members of The Jim Henson Company in New York, The Creature Shop in London and the Neal Scanlan Studio in London whose combined credits range from family fare like Babe, 101 Dalmatians and The Witches to more adult fare such the Academy Award winning The English Patient. The show consists of a cast and crew from both America and Iceland and the program is now a massive success in both countries.

Character Guide:

Stephanie - Stephanie is the niece of Mayor Milford Meanswell. She is a pink-haired girl performed by Julianna Rose Mauriello and is one of only three characters on the show represented in human form. Stephanie is an athletic dancer and enjoys games of all sorts. She is generally sociable and has made friends with all of the kids in LazyTown.

Sportacus - Sportacus is a superhero from the north. Summoned by Stephanie with the help of her uncle, the Sportacus seen on the program is known as Sportacus 10, although there have been others in the past. Performed by show creator Magnús Scheving , Sportacus is generally only referred to as "Sportacus 10" in early episodes. Sportacus lives in a large airship that flies above LazyTown. His airship includes a number of useful gadgets, including a smaller version of the ship itself known as the "sky chaser." Sportacus is known for amazing superhero moves, including flipping and jumping. Sportacus eats only healthy foods and gets to sleep at 8:08 P.M. each night. He wears a crystal on his chest that sounds an alert whenever someone in town is in trouble.

Robbie Rotten - The show's "villain," Robbie is a nemesis straight from the old-school. Performed by Stefán Karl Stefánsson, Robbie enjoys dressing up in disguises, laughing meanly and hatching sinister schemes. Robbie is incredibly lazy, but will expend surprising amounts of energy in his quest to keep the kids of town lazy and rid the town of Sportacus forever!!! Robbie's plans often succeed on a temporary basis, but are generally quickly unraveled. He has been described by the kids as a "big softie." Robbie loves sleeping and he also is fond of eating cake. Whereas Sportacus oversees the town from above, Robbie lurks in an underground lair. He uses extendable binoculars planted throughout the town to spy on the inhabitants. Though often reclusive and antisocial, Robbie sometimes feels the need to be included in the town's activities and becomes indignant when he is left out. He also often talks to himself and sings songs about his plots.

Mayor Milford Meanswell - Stephanie's uncle and one of several puppet characters on the program. Performed by David Matthew Feldman, Meanswell, generally "means well" for the town, but isn't always a very effective mayor. He can be indecisive at times and often seems willing to go along with Robbie when he dresses up as an authority figure. Meanswell is fond of Miss Busybody and will do anything to get on her good side.

Miss Bessie Busybody - Miss Busybody generally does not like children very much, but also largely keeps to herself. She can be very demanding at times, but Mayor Meanswell seems to dote on her.

Ziggy - Stephanie's best friend, along with Trixie. Ziggy is a generally hyper boy who loves candy. He is learning a lot about healthy habits from Sportacus. Ziggy can be bold and daring at times and often dreams of being a superhero. Ziggy is sometimes known to fib. He is generally a good friend to Stephanie and will often support her when nobody else will.

Trixie - Stephanie manages to get over Trixie's initial meanness and become friends with her. Trixie often refers to Stephanie as "Pinky." She is rather sporty too, but also sometimes enjoys doing "girly" things.

Pixel - Pixel is a wizard when it comes to computers and electronics. Pixel is learning to enjoy outdoor sports and fun, but brings his own unique twist to them. Pixel fits in well with the group of kids, despite his tendency to sometimes play too long on his computer.

Stingy - True to his name, Stingy is somewhat greedy and selfish. This doesn't stop him, however, from being friends with the other LazyTown kids. Stephanie and the others are helping him to see that sometimes sharing and playing with friends is better. Because of his selfish nature, Stingy is sometimes an easy target for Robbie's schemes. Stingy is rather musical and plays the harmonica and other instruments.

LazyTown was a part of Nick Jr.'s programming lineup, but has now come to an end. Little Bill is the story of the Glover family, told through the viewpoint of the youngest son, Bill Glover Jr., affectionately known as Little Bill. Little Bill lives with his mother, Brenda, a photographer, Big Bill, a housing inspector for the city, his two older siblings, April and Bobby, and Brenda's grandmother, known as Alice The Great. Each episode usually consists of two stories showing Little Bill's home life or at school, illustrating the usual goings-on of a five year old's life. At the end of the show, Little Bill usually addresses the audience, recapping what happened to him and what he learned that day, prompting one of his other family members to ask, "Little Bill, who are you talking to?" Cats + Cash = Chaos! From creator and executive producer Doug TenNapel comes a wild new comedy about three brothers. Catscratch's stars are Mr. Blik, Gordon and Waffle, who happen to be cats, which were raised in a mega-mansion by Mrs. Edna Cramdilly. After her death, Edna left her house and all her money to the cats. The rich kitties live a wild life of freedom and adventure and they can't seem to keep out of trouble. Sibling rivalry abounds as the brothers have very different and unique personalities. Mr. Blik is the bossy leader of the group who will let nothing stop him in his quest to be the best. Gordon, although a messy eater, is honest and loyal, and has a huge crush on Human Kimberly, the neighbor. Waffle is the silly, pushover, happy-go-lucky guy of the bunch, who happens to be as dumb as a stump. Hovis was Edna's long-serving butler who has stayed on to look after the cats. Although he is not thrilled with his new masters he puts up with them. Human Kimberly is the cats' 8-year-old neighbor and friend, and the recipient of Gordon's huge crush. Last but not least in the list of characters is Gear, the brothers' ultra-macho monster truck. The cats have a rival--wait, did we say "rival"? We meant "rivals" named the Chumpy Chumps. The cats are adventurers so they have their own adventures as they encounter and battle cat-hating mouses, other cats, cat-hating dogs, dangerous bears, bad gangs, creepy monsters, giant squids, homeless bums, Kimberly's friends, attacking zombies, unknown bad luck, cute bunnies, scary aliens, man-eating sharks, good vets, evil club owners and guards, helpful lobsters, evil robots, bullying alley cats, dangerous static electricity, big mammoths, exploding bombs, and, of course, mall jobs. Character Guide: Mr. Blik: The self proclaimed leader of the three, He loves both deceit and money. Gordon: Gordon is a Scottish cat who will stand up for any of his brothers. He has a major crush on Human Kimberly. Waffle: The silly one of the three brothers, he can be tricked easily, and Gordon nearly always stands up for him. Hovis: The cat's butler, he hates Mr. Blik, and he seems to hate being a butler. He is also a Handy Helper at times. Gear: The cat's car. Gear is a monster truck the cats cruise in. Blik also modeled him to turn into a spaceship. Human Kimberly: The cats' neighbor and friend, she is the only girl that is a main character on this cartoon.moreless
