Double Dare 2000 is a family friendly Nickelodeon show hosted by Jason Harris. In each episode, two family teams compete against each other, and both teams have two parents and two children. The host asks each team to answer a trivia question. If the family members can answer it, they get twenty-five dollars. If they don't know the answer or believe that the other team will not know the answer, they can dare the other team to give the correct response. An incorrect answer from the opposing team will earn the original family fifty dollars. On the other hand, the rival family can decide to give the first family the question back and double dare that team to answer it. Then, the team must either answer the question or take part in a messy, thirty-second physical challenge worth one hundred dollars. At the end of the show, the team with the highest score gets to participate in an obstacle course to earn prizes. This television show is not only lighthearted and amusing, it also teaches children the value of working together as a family.moreless

The World of David the Gnome was based on the world famous children's books The Gnomes and The Secret of the Gnomes by Dutch authors Rien Poortvliet and Wil Huygen. David the Gnome, and his wife Lisa, were peace loving Gnomes who lived in a tree. They probably reminded more than a few children of their grandparents. David would travel around on the back of his trusty fox, Swift, who he would summon by whistling. Overall it was a very interesting show which taught children to enjoy and respect nature and the world around them. This 26 episode series came to the U.S. airwaves in 1988, running weekdays on Nickelodeon, and was later rebroadcast from 1996 to 1998 on The Learning Channel. It was narrated by Christopher Plummer, of The Sound of Music and The Insider fame.moreless

With her playroom friends by her side, Blue is ready to take preschoolers on adventures in reading, creativity, and communication!

The Occupants of Blue's Room: Blue: An inquisitive, friendly blue puppy, Blue is always ready to greet her friends with a hearty, "Hi, you!" Blue jumps into activities with a childlike playfulness, always eager to try new things. She is also not shy about her "arty" side, always ready to burst into a song and dance number!

Sprinkles: He may be new to Blue's Room, but that doesn't mean he doesn't fit in! Sprinkles may need a bit of coaxing to join in play, but when he does, there's a lot of fun to be had!

Polka Dots: Blue's stuffed doll, Polka Dots, is given life in Blue's Room—and what a life he has! Polka Dots is even more playful than his friend, Blue is! With a mind always on silly things, Polka Dots can always be counted on to liven up any activity with his happy disposition. He is best known for "Polka Dots Puzzles' a game in which we must find puzzle pieces around Blue's Room, and put them together to get—a surprise!

Fred(erica) Frederica, or Fred as she likes to be called, is always thinking about one thing: birthdays! Fred can usually be found pretending it's her birthday, or thinking about what the perfect present would be. Fred is polite, friendly, and always happy! She also knows our Words of the Day before anyone else!

Roar E. Saurus (Roary) You can usually tell where Roary is by listening for his distinctive "Rooooooooooar!" While Roary may be trying to create a loud scary roar, he is anything but scary! A lovable dinosaur that likes to sit up high, Roary is always eager to join Blue on her adventures!

Silly Seat: Song Call: A-silly-silly-silly-silly-silly-silly seeeeeeat! Silly Seat's one mission is to make us laugh. Whether he uses a silly song and dance, or tells a silly knock-knock joke, he usually succeeds!

Bookshelf: Song Call: Ahhhhhhhh-Read me! Here in Blue's Room, the books fly off the shelves--literally! If there's a book with a story to be read, it will eagerly jump to the windowsill so we can read it with Blue!

Dictionary: Song Call: Words, words, words, words, woooooords! When we run into a word we don't know, this is the book we look for. Dictionary shows us a picture of the word, and also tells us what it means so we can use the new word throughout our playdate!

Journal: Song Call: Let's Journal! At the end of our time in Blue's Room, Journal is always ready to receive our thoughts and hear about the fun we had!

Moona: The fairy who gave Blue her room. Moona's job in Blue's Room is to perform the magic that is sometimes needed for our adventures. She also has the sad job of telling Blue when it's time to leave.

Welcome to Roundhouse guide at TV.com!
Roundhouse is a show that's hard to describe. The best way to explain it is to say that it was Saturday Night Live meets the Mickey Mouse Club--something that the entire family could enjoy.
Roundhouse was filled with comical skits that used no real sets and cheap props (on purpose). The cast was made up of actors and actresses that were also extremely talented at singing and dancing.
The lyrics to the theme song are as follows:
Whenever my life keeps so down I know I can go down (down, down, down) To where the music and the fun never ends As long as that music keeps playing You know what I'm saying I know that I can find a friend... Down at the Roundhouse!
In 1993, the entire cast won a Young Artist Award for their outstanding work on the series.moreless

Welcome to the Pelswick guide at TV.com. Pelswick Eggert is a 13-year-old 8th grader with a sharp tongue, a healthy suspicion of authority and a complete lack of fear. He also is in a wheelchair due to him having no feeling below his armpits. Pelswick is just like any other 13-year-old when it comes to being independent, disaster-prone, mixed-up, and plugged into everyday pop culture. Pelswick's home life is dominated by his fiercely-protective (and totally insane) Gram-Gram, as well as his politically correct father Quentin, who will go to any length to avoid offending anyone. ("Nobody's wrong, they're just differently right!") Also in the picture are precocious younger sister Kate, and little brother Bobby, who says exactly one word per episode. At school, Pelswick's life is made miserable by bully Boyd Scullarzo, and Boyd's none-too-bright sidekicks Nick and Joe. Boyd is truly dedicated to the art of bullying; he's announced publicly that "it's bad form to beat up a cripple, so I'll focus on humiliation and psychological torture instead". ("Cripple", incidentally, is Boyd's term; Pelswick prefers "permanently seated".) Fortunately, Pelswick has a loyal band of friends to help him through the rough patches: numbers-obsessed Ace, dim-but-decent behemoth Goon, prima donna Sandra Scoddle, and sensible Julie Smockford, on whom Pelswick has a not-so-secret crush. Finally, there's Mr. Jimmy, a Jerry Garcia look-alike who is Pelswick's thoroughly incompetent guardian angel. Invisible to everyone but Pelswick, the laid-back Mr. J pops up at the strangest times to offer Pelswick maddeningly cryptic advice about whatever outrageous predicament Pelswick finds himself in this week. Mr. Jimmy routinely drives Pelswick crazy, and Pelswick often goes to great lengths to try to avoid him... but how can you avoid an angel who can instantly appear wherever you happen to be?moreless
