    SpongeBob SquarePants

    SpongeBob SquarePants

    Nickelodeon
SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the highest-rated children's cartoon shows of the era and of all time. It follows a naive and eternally optimistic sea-sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants and his endeavors in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom. Many supporting and equally popular characters tag along with SpongeBob, including a starfish, a squid, a crab, and even a squirrel who lives underwater. The show first aired on May 1st, 1999, and quickly took off with children. The show is just as popular now as it ever was! Cast of Characters SpongeBob SquarePants - SpongeBob is the main character of the series and, as stated before, is somewhat dim-witted, sometimes to the point of driving his brighter friends up the wall. Despite this shortcoming, SpongeBob is a selfless creature. SpongeBob is a well-known fry cook at the Krusty Krab, Bikini Bottom's premier daytime eatery, and for good reason. No one denies that SpongeBob makes a delicious Krabby Patty, the burger of choice at the restaurant. SpongeBob lives in his pineapple home with his pet snail Gary. Patrick Star - Patrick is SpongeBob's best friend and is not the brightest fish in the sea - he lives under a rock, after all. Usually, SpongeBob and Patrick come up with a clueless idea that they think will be fun, but they usually end up in a lot of trouble for it. Because of his personality and dim-witted antics, Patrick is one of the most popular characters in the series. Squidward Tentacles - Squidward is a snobbish squid who lives in a moai between the houses of the two people he hates the most - SpongeBob and Patrick. He is constantly unhappy, mainly because of their antics. They have somehow been misinformed that Squidward is their friend, so Squidward is always badgered by them both. Squidward also dislikes his job at the Krusty Krab with SpongeBob. The only things that keep Squidward going are his tiki-shaped home and playing his clarinet. Sandy Cheeks - Sandy is a cowgirl from Texas. She is quite powerful and agile, so make sure you don't set her off! She is a very nice person though, and isn't all muscle. In fact, her love of science is what allows her to live underwater. She lives in a tree growing inside a large dome that keeps air in. If she leaves her air bubble, she'll wear a suit that lets her breathe. Mr. Eugene H. Krabs - Mr. Krabs is the owner of the Krusty Krab and is notable for his large cheapskate side. Mr. Krabs is completely in love with his money and lets nothing stand between him and it. He also has a daughter, Pearl the whale, though it is never explained how Pearl is a whale and Mr. Krabs is a crab. Gary the Snail - Gary is SpongeBob's pet snail and is the equivalent of an underwater cat. Although most of his sounds are cat-like mews, SpongeBob can understand exactly what Gary is saying, and Gary understands SpongeBob as well, probably better than SpongeBob understands himself. Sheldon J. Plankton - Plankton is Mr. Krab's arch rival and the not-so-proud owner of the Chum Bucket, the restaurant across the street from the Krusty Krab. Plankton has tried to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula from his rival Mr. Krabs on numerous occasions but has never succeeded. His wife Karen is a computer he built himself. Larry the Lobster - Larry is a macho lifeguard at the Bikini Bottom beach, Goo-Lagoon. He is constantly working out and is often the voice of reason when Spongebob tries something particularly dim-witted at the beach. Mrs. Poppy Puff - Mrs. Puff is the local driving school teacher in Bikini Bottom. She is a good teacher, but just cannot pass one student: SpongeBob SquarePants. SpongeBob has failed her class many times and has gotten on Mrs. Puff's nerves so much that she now has a severe hatred for him and has actually been driven slightly insane by him. Squilliam Fancyson - Squilliam is Squidward's rich and snobbish rival. He boasts about his money and is everything Squidward wants to be. He and Squidward's neighbors are the main reasons for Squidward's bitterness. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy - These two are a retired duo of superheroes that have their own television show. Mermaid Man is portrayed as a senile character, and Barnacle Boy, who is 68 years old, is constantly annoyed by him. Man Ray and the Dirty Bubble - These are a pair of dastardly villains in Bikini Bottom. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy are too old to fight them alone and usually need the help of SpongeBob and his friends to get the job done. The Dirty Bubble is literally a bubble and can be popped by pointy objects. Man Ray wears a mask and has no real face behind it. He has been known to have a bit of a soft side. The Flying Dutchman - The Flying Dutchman lives in his flying pirate ship and haunts Bikini Bottom. His hobby and main reason for existing is simply to scare the citizens of Bikini Bottom. Theme Song Captain: Are ya ready kids? Kids: Aye, aye, captain! Captain: I can't hear you! Kids: AYE, AYE, CAPTAIN! Captain: Ohhh..... who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: Absorbent and yellow and porous is he! Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: If nautical nonsense be something you wish,Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: Then drop on the deck, and flop like a fish! Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: Ready? Everyone: SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: SpongeBob... Blue's Clues

    Blue's Clues

    Nickelodeon (ended 2013)
"To empower, to challenge, and build the self-esteem of preschoolers...all while making them laugh!" --- show slogan Blue's Clues celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2006. Blue gained a new baby brother who was later added to the series Blue's Room. The fun of the anniversary has ended, but you can continue to enjoy Blue's Clues in repeats on Noggin. Blue's Clues is a colorful and learning series that is targeted at the younger crowd, but can be enjoyed by all. Seasons 1-4 - It's Me, Steve! Have You Seen Blue, My Puppy? In the first four seasons of the program, host Steve Burns invited viewers daily into the Blue's Clues house to help him out, learn and have fun. From doing things like imitating Elvis Presley, to picking up a guitar and singing, acting like animals and more, Steve was always ready to do something funny and surprising. The show, was, and still is, based around the host looking for three clues that Blue provides by labeling them with a pawprint to figure something out. In a segment called "Blue Skidoo," Blue takes us into someplace that could be anything from a storybook world to a gameboard. Finally, "Mailtime" explores the theme of the episode using real kids. The program underwent many changes throughout the first four seasons of the show, including the release of a direct-to-video movie, the introduction of new characters such as Periwinkle and Cinnamon and even visits from occasional special guests. The schedule is highly variable, so keep an eye on listings for both Nick Jr. and Noggin. Additionally, many episodes of all versions of the program are available on commercial video and DVD. Season 5 - Joe Moves In In Season 5, long-time host Steve Burns left the program. The real Steve Burns began actively pursuing a musical career, while on the program it was said that he went to college. In order to fill in the role of host, the program introduced his "brother" Joe (Donovan Patton) to watch over the characters and play Blue's Clues in Steve's absence. Joe brings his own unique style to the program, from the colored shirts he wears that change from day-to-day, to his own personal interests, such as ducks. Season 6 - The Legend of the Blue Puppy In an episode shown in primetime viewers learned that Blue was born with a key that unlocks a playroom she can visit. In this playroom, Blue is transformed into a puppet. As a puppet, she can talk and interact with many new characters in the playroom, such as Rory the dinosaur, her stuffed friend Polka Dots, and a girl who goes by "Fred." Meanwhile, the show continues with Joe as the host and many of the normal features that viewers have come to know and love. Blue's Clues returned with a special episode in August 2006. This special episode celebrated the program's tenth anniversary. Cast listed in the guide as "Steve's Friends" or "Joe's Friends" are either additional voices or kids who appeared in Mailtime. These are listed under Co-Stars and are either one-shot guests, or sometimes recurring. Additional voices could be anything from a kid yelling "A Clue! A Clue!" to an auxiliary character such as a "Felt Friend." Additionally, a "Blue's Friends" section was added in later Season 6, for additional voices in "Blue's Room." Note that in Seasons 1 and 2, voices of regular characters also appears under "Steve's Friends." In Season 3, they are moved to a separate section, but it's a generic credits screen that doesn't reflect the characters that appear in the episode. From Season 4 onward, only voices actually used in the episode are credited. Blue's Clues currently has a number of DVD releases, but still no complete season releases, or anything more than basic special features, except for Blue's Big Musical Movie. If you'd like to see more new releases, visit TV Shows on DVD where you can vote on the types of releases you'd like to see and even leave comments for the powers-that-be. You must be registered with the site to vote, but registration is free and only requires a small amount of personal information to prevent people from voting more than once.moreless

    The Backyardigans

    The Backyardigans

    Nickelodeon
The Backyardigans is Nick Jr.'s animated musical adventure series about five high-spirited preschool friends, Uniqua, Pablo, Tyrone, Tasha, and Austin, who rely on their vivid imaginations to embark on amazing, epic adventures. In every episode, the backyard transforms into a new fantastic, photo-real landscape that serves as the backdrop for completely original, story-driven musicals. Broadway-caliber music spanning a variety of genres (including Big Band, Reggae, Rockabilly, Bossa Nova, and Hip-Hop) and cutting-edge 3-D dance choreography propel the stories forward, lending the series a narrative voice that will appeal to preschoolers and parents alike. The series will inspire children to sing and dance along with these lovable characters and stretch their imaginations as they climb up mountains, slide down glaciers, and sail across oceans.

The Backyardigans was created by executive producer Janice Burgess (Little Bill) and is executive-produced and directed by Robert Scull (Little Bill, Whoopi's Littleburg).

    Characters

PABLO: Pablo is, well, wrapped a little too tight. He gets excited by things. Just leaving the house for free play in the backyard can make him babble with joy. He thinks quickly, he speaks quickly, acts and reacts quickly. He gets big ideas but he can be overwhelmed by a situation and panic a little – making him the character most likely to run in a circle flapping his flippers and squawking. (By the way, he's a penguin.) He may not be the most agile or graceful of the friends, but he's probably the most determined and enthusiastic.

UNIQUA: One of a kind. She's funny – she loves to tell silly jokes and to tickle her friends. She's a little mischievous -- she'd be the kid most likely to ring the doorbell and run away. But she's sweet --she'll notice if you're happy or sad and say something about it because she cares about you. Graceful, agile and light on her feet, Uniqua is not afraid of anything and can be quite the daredevil. She loves to run and climb and ride her bike faster than anyone. (Uniqua is her name, and also her species – with her purple skin, pink spots, and dainty antennae, she doesn't look like any other creature on the planet.)

AUSTIN: Austin is the new kangaroo on the block, so he doesn't yet know the other kids really well. That suppresses his natural bounciness and makes him diffident sometimes – a little hesitant to express his opinion, a little slow to take the lead. He really wants to get it right.

TYRONE: The sunny one. He's easygoing – he can get along with anybody – Pablo's his best friend, after all. He takes life's ups and downs in stride --things just don't get under his skin. He's a deep thinker, which may make him seem a little slow on the uptake sometimes. He's confident -- he enjoys a challenge because he knows, in his heart, that he is equal to it. There's always a way and he's bound to figure it out. (And he happens to be a moose.)

TASHA: A little girl hippo, in red mary janes and a flowered dress. Tasha is Uniqua's much-admired and always eagerly-awaited play date. She looks sweet as pie but underneath her extra girly exterior beats the heart of a CEO -- tough-as-nails, take-no-prisoners, my-way-or-the-highway kind of gal. She's rational, skeptical, and highly motivated to get her own way. But it's always special for Uniqua when Tasha is there, because she's someone who can also be giggly, silly and full of fun.

    Theme Song

And we're, Your backyard friends, The Backyardigans Together with The Backyardigans In the place where we belong Where we'll probably sing a song And we'll maybe dance along We've got the whole wide world in our yard to explore We've always find things we've never seen before That's why everyday we're back for more With your friends, The Backyardigans.moreless

His is cocky, but it is deserved as he is an A+ student. He and Musa eventually ended up dating, but have their hard times more than a few times.
Timmy is the brainiac of the group and their major strategist. He was secretly crushing on Tecna for a while, until they both came out and admitted their feelings in season 3.
Helia is the artist of the group. He first appeared in Season 2, and started out going to an art school before he gave up pacifism and transferred to Red Fountain. He fell for Flora very hard & fast and their personalities meshed well together.
Nabu is Laylas boyfriend and doesn't show up untll season 3. Him & Riven originally crash after a misunderstanding, but quickly become close with each other & often are seen together. He is not a swordsman, but is very athletic & has mystical powers of his own.
The Trix: The Trix or the Senior Witches are Icy, Darcy and Stormy, descendants of the evil Witches coven that destroyed Sparx. They are bitter about their lack of power and are always trying to get more- first by attempting to steal the Dragonfire from Bllom and then by teaming up with Darkar and later Baltor. Icy is the leader and strongest of the three and is the favorite of Darkar and Baltor. Her power takes the form of ice. Darcy's is usually hypnotism and illusions whereas Stormy's power takes the form of malicious weather like tornadoes and lightning.

Theme song Lyrics (Season 1 and 3)

    Avatar: The Last Airbender

    Avatar: The Last Airbender

    Nickelodeon (ended 2008)
In a lost age, the world is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Within each nation, there is a remarkable order of men and women called the "benders" who can learn to harness their inborn talent and manipulate their native element. Bending is a powerful form combining martial art and elemental magic. In each generation, only one bender is solely capable of controlling all four elements. That bender is the Avatar. The Avatar is the spirit of the world manifested in human form. When the Avatar dies, it reincarnates into the next nation in the cycle. Starting with the mastery of his or her native element, the Avatar learns to bend all four elements. Throughout the ages, the countless incarnations of the Avatar have served to keep the four nations in harmony. Then, the Fire Nation launched a war against the other three nations. Just as the world needed the Avatar the most, he mysteriously vanished. A hundred years later, the Fire Nation is near final victory in its ruthless war of world domination. The Air Nomads were destroyed, the Air Temples ravished, and all airbender monks eradicated. The Water Tribes were raided and driven to the brink of extinction. The Earth Kingdom remains and fights a hopeless war against the Fire Nation. Many believe the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and the cycle is broken. In the desolated South Pole, a lone Water tribe struggles to survive. It is here that the village's last remaining waterbender Katara and her warrior brother Sokka rescue a strange 12-year-old boy named Aang who has been suspended in hibernation in an iceberg. The Water tribe soon discovers that Aang is not only an Airbender--the extinct race no one has seen in a century--but also the long lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard the child Avatar in his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation. Season 1 is titled "Book One: Water", and Season 2 is titled "Book Two: Earth." Each of these seasons contains twenty "chapters." Season 3 is titled "Book Three: Fire", and contains 21 "chapters." Also Known As...: UK: Avatar: The Legend of Aang Latin America: Avatar: La Leyenda de Aang (The Legend of Aang) Brazil: Avatar: A Lenda de Aang (The Legend of Aang) Italy: Avatar: La Leggenda di Aang (The Legend of Aang) Germany: Avatar: Der Herr Der Elemente (The Master of the Elements) Spain:Avatar: La leyenda de Aang (The Legend of Aang) Holland: Avatar: De legende van Aang (The Legend of Aang) Opening Themes: The Pilot: Water. Earth. Fire. Air. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days. The time of peace. When the Avatar kept balance between Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar masters all four elements. Only he can stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, He vanished. One hundred years have passed, and Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into Air Nomads, and that the circle is broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that, somehow, The Avatar will return to save the world. Chapters 3+ Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony, But everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the Avatar, the master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. One hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. Although his airbending skills are great, He has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone.
