    Design Squad

    PBS Kids
Design Squad is a reality television show on PBS, in which kids between the ages of 15 and 19 years old design fantastical machines, all in the hopes of winning a $10,000 Intel college scholarship. Inventing is hard, even for these bright rising engineers, but luckily the kids are divided into two teams, where they can bounce ideas off of each other and collaborate on blue prints. Each person on the winning team of each challenge gets 100 points, but since the team compositions change with each challenge, an individual winner comes out on top at the end. From turning ordinary toy cars into motorized speed machines, to inventing and creating new instruments, to designing high-tech haute couture, the challenges are fun and there is a lot of creativity in each imagination-fueled episode. Design Squad teaches children about engineering in a fun way, helps along the careers of its aspiring engineer participants, and encourages viewers to be creative and think, build, and play their ways to success.moreless
