Leap Years is a unique show that takes a group of five friends living in New York and shows you what their lives are like in 1993, 2001, and 2008.

The theme song heard playing at the opening and closing credits of Leap Years is called "Once in a Lifetime" and is performed by The Talking Heads. The lyrics are as follows:

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself-Well...How did I get here?
Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.
    And you may ask yourself
    How do I work this?
    And you may ask yourself
    Where is that large automobile?
    And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
    And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!
Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the money's gone

Kurt Vonnegut's Monkey House is a 1991 series from Showtime that featured Vonnegut himself hosting televised versions of some of his stories. The stories first appeared in his book Welcome To The Monkey House. In particular, the film features recreations of the stories Next Door, The Euphio Question, and All The King's Horses. Typical of Vonnegut's other works, the stories are darkly humorous and filled with quirky characters. The science fiction undertones are reminiscent of The Twilight Zone and Ray Bradbury's works. For instance, the title story involves an overpopulated, futuristic world in which the world government is trying to curb the population through optional suicide parlors and mandatory birth control that takes the pleasure out of sex. All of Vonnegut's writings involve the lone rational mind trying to survive a senseless and bureaucratic world, and this collection captures some of his most peculiar and creepy expressions of those very themes. moreless

Fallen Angels was a neo-noir anthology television series set in somber Los Angeles right after World War II and before the election of president John F. Kennedy. In Europe the show was known as Perfect Crimes. The program ran during 1993-1995 on the Showtime pay-cable station. The episodes had a gorgeous look and, although filmed in color, mimicked what was done by Hollywood filmmakers during the film noir era of the 1940's and 1950's in terms of tone, look, and story content. The series was produced using top-notch directors, well-known hard-boiled fiction writers, screenplay masters, inventive cinematographers, and first-rate actors. In addition, the art direction gave the series the ambiance and historical look required of a show devoted to noir set in Los Angeles. The ensemble group of craftswomen and craftsmen took a turn each week at the helm to produce many, many memorable episodes and a visually stunning series. Each episode began with a cool and restrained jazz score as the sultry Fay Friendly told her audience what would develop in the episode. Her words were wistful, melancholic and foreshadowed the pain to come. "It's a role call of tormented souls confronting their monsters within; it's a picaresque look at Los Angeles back in the forties. It's the world of pulp on celluloid, pure translations that augment the stark power of great short fiction." --James Ellroy, Novelist By Lou Delgado Produced by: Showtime Networks Inc. and Propaganda Filmsmoreless
