    American Dad!

    American Dad!

American Dad! from Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane, is the animated story of Stan Smith, who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm – as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up.

    Production Company: 20th Century FOX.

    Also see Family Guy.

    Character Guide:

Stan Smith - Stan works for the CIA, and is constantly on the look-out for terrorists. He loves his family and will do anything to protect them, and his country.

Francine Smith - Stan's wife, she has had a past life of drugs, but she has carefully hidden her party-girl personality for the sake of the conservative man she loves. She met Stan after college.

Hayley Smith - The teenage daughter of the family, currently attending community college. Despite her father's best efforts she has turned out to be a left-wing liberal. Stan loves his daughter, but that doesn't necessarily mean he trusts her.

Steve Smith - The dorky son, he tries to act cool, but fails. Steve is on the verge of puberty - but he just can't quite make it. His low social status sometimes leads him to taking drastic action - but no matter what he does, he's just a dork.

Roger - A sarcastic alien rescued by Stan from Area 51. He resents not being allowed to leave the house, so has resorted to drinking wine and smoking cigarettes.

Klaus - A German-talking goldfish, he was a CIA experiment that went horribly wrong when they tried transplanting a German man's brain into a goldfish. Klaus lusts after Francine, and will take any opportunity that comes his way.

    Theme Song Lyrics:

Stan: Good morning, USA! I got a feeling that it's gonna be a wonderful day! The sun in the sky has a smile on his face! And he's shinin' a salute to the American race! Oh boy, it's swell to saaay! Good morning, USA! (Good morning, USA!)

    Captain Planet and the Planeteers

    TBS (ended 1996)
Captain Planet was created by billionaire Ted Turner in the early 90's to spread awareness of the environmental damage done to earth every year, at the same time providing the action and thrills that a Saturday morning cartoon needs to be a hit.

This special effort worked. BIG TIME. The show ran for six long successful years, with three seasons divided between DIC animation, and Hanna-Barbera, and today is still repeated all over the globe it was created to help save.

Our world is in peril, Gaia, the spirit of the earth, can no longer stand the terrible destruction plaguing our planet, she sends five magic rings to five special young people:

Kwame: From Africa, with the power of Earth..

From North America, Wheeler, with the power of Fire

From the Soviet Union, Linka, with the Power of the Wind

From Asia, Gi, with the power of the Water

And from South America, Ma-Ti, with the power of Heart

When the five powers combine, they summon earth's greatest champion, CAPTAIN PLANET!

    GO PLANET!!!!

And He's Fighting On The Planet's Side

    Captain Planet

    He's a Hero

Gonna Take Pollution Down To Zero

    Gonna Help Him Pull Asunder

    2 Stupid Dogs

    2 Stupid Dogs

    TBS (ended 1995)
Two Stupid Dogs follows the lives of two dogs, the overly excited Little Dog(the dachshund) and easy-paced Big Dog(Brad Garrett from "Til Death" and "Everybody Loves Raymond")-the sheepdog. These crazy canines don't know how to fit in the world, and they definitely don't have any know-how. They often find themselves in commonplace situations (going to the drive-in, walking through the mall, working on the farm), some not so common situations (stuck on a space shuttle, a contestant on a game show, getting mistaken for the prime minister), and even in some familiar situations (Little Red Riding Hood, Noah's Ark, and Hansel and Gretel). But no matter the situation, their stupidity usually leads them to calamitous results. The show also featured various returning characters. Hollywood was a big burly man who is always saying "Well isn't that cute, but it's wrong!". Red as the little girl from the Red Riding Hood story on her way to granny's house. Cubby is the nerdy guy who is very passionate about what ever occupation he works at. And finally Kenny, the neurotic school child who's afraid of everything and is always nervous. Each episode included two 10 minute episodes of 2 Stupid Dogs and one episode of Secret Squirrel shown between the two. 2 Stupid Dogs first aired in September of 1993 and last aired in January of 1995. 2 STUPID DOGS and all related characters and elements are trademarks of Hanna-Barbera. 2 STUPID DOGS is now airing Monday-Friday at 7:30am and a repeat airing at 5:50pm on BOOMERANG (Channel 297 - DirecTV). There are also airings on Saturday and Sunday at 5:30pm that are different from the episodes aired during the week. Start times on Saturdays sometimes vary by 5 to 10 minutes.moreless
