History IQ is a game show that premiered in October, 2000 and ran for two seasons on The History Channel. It was hosted by Marc Summers with announcer Harvey (John Harvey), who had previously worked together on Double Dare. The format had three contestants fighting for the daily grand prize, along with an opportunity to advance to the tournament, where the top prize was $250,000. In the original airing viewers could play along online. Each episode presented an historical video clip followed by a question, and contestants needed to buzz in and correctly answer the question. Subjects focused on historical trivia from both US and world history, covering a range from ancient times to modern day. Bonus rounds had contestants matching headlines to their corresponding years along a ten-year timeline. Second rounds became more difficult and shifted into a speed challenge, where rapid-fire questions added $100 for each correct answer. In the second season these challenges were enhanced and the timeline was played differently. The season two tournament was won by attorney Robin Grover in a final episode, which aired on June 22, 2001. moreless
