Our Gang is a series of comedic short films from the early days of American filmography. It was created and produced by Hal Roach throughout the 1920s and 30s, and is better known today as "The Little Rascals." It features the adventures of a lovable gang of children, whose mischief and frivolities have brought laughter to America and the world for generations. Among the most famous of the children are Spanky (George McFarland), Alfalfa (Carl Switzer), and Buckwheat (Billie Thomas). The series is notable for breaking stereotypes and prejudices by portraying blacks, whites, boys, and girls together in one group as equals, a concept that was unheard of when it premiered. More than 200 shorts and one feature film, "General Spanky," were produced, and they have been re-run on television continuously for decades. Anyone with an interest in classic film or family friendly comedies will find something to like about Our Gang.moreless

Set in a storybook Connecticut town populated with an eclectic mix of everyday folks and lovable lunatics, Gilmore Girls is a humorous multigenerational series about friendship, family and the ties that bind. Thirtysomething Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) has made her share of mistakes in life, but she has been doing her best to see that her college-bound daughter - and best friend in the world - Rory (Alexis Bledel), doesn't follow in her footsteps. That may be easier said than done, considering that the two share the same interests, the same intellect, the same coffee addiction and the same eyes. Rory is more serious than Lorelai, but there are tendencies, especially in the love department, that clearly indicate she is her mother's daughter. From the beginning, this unique mother-daughter team has been growing up together. Lorelai was just Rory's age when she became pregnant and made the tough decision to raise her baby alone.

Gilmore Girls was the first series to make it to air supported by the Family Friendly Forum's script development fund. An initiative between some of the nation's top advertisers and The WB, the program is intended to offer a greater array of compelling family programming on network television. The strong and loving mother-daughter relationship portrayed in Gilmore Girls reflects the growing reality of this new type of American family.moreless

Speedy Gonzales is the famous Warner Bros. cartoon Mexican mouse part of WB's long running Loony Tunes. The toon mouse was created by Robert Mckimson and Friz Freleng (until redesigned by Hawly Pratt) and first aired in the 1953 cartoon Cat-Tails for Two. He was originally voiced by Mel Blanc, who created Speedy's famous call "¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba (which is spanish for "Go on! Go on! Up!Up!). Speedy is always seen wearing a large yellow sombrero, a red bandana, and white shirt and pants. He gets is name from being the fastest mouse in all of mexico (though he runs faster than any human can too). There have been forty six Speedy Gonzales cartoons made so far, and many of the lovable Loony Tunes characters are featured in them - such as Sylvester the cat. The 1955 the Speedy animated short won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject (cartoons). In recent years, the Speedy Gonzales cartoons sparked controversy for their depiction of stereotypes against latin americans, and thus taken off the air. However due to their popularity within the Latin community, they were brought back with a disclaimer.moreless
