    Ultimate Albums

    Ultimate Albums

    VH1 (ended 2003)
Welcome to the Ultimate Albums guide at TV.com. Also called Vh1's Ultimate Albums, This show focuses on one specific album that an artist has released that has made a great impact on their career, and in many cases, our social life. It contains interviews with the musicians, producers, etc., and tells a story about how the concept originated, its subject matter, and what the performers thought about it. Produced by the people who brought us Behind The Music, it does not peel away the studio tracks the way its sister show, Classic Albums, does, although it does sometimes feature the musicians playing along with the recorded versions. After a promising beginning, the show began losing its focus by featuring several newer releases, and by increasingly erratic TV scheduling. After just nineteen episodes, it was placed on hiatus never to return. It does occasionally get a showing still, mostly on Vh1 Classic, but only a few of the episodes are rebroadcast.moreless

Ru would then ask the audience how they liked her outfit, show them the "front" and the "back" of the dress, and then head to the couch for talk.
Her series showcased an eclectic mix of celebrities, from gay icons like Cher and k.d.lang to pop singers (an early appearance by Backstreet Boys) to minstream entertainers like Nell Carter and Lynda Carter.moreless
