Hey kids, welcome to The Big Comfy Couch where learning is fun!

The Big Comfy Couch is about a little clown named Loonette and her doll Molly with their Big Comfy couch. The couch has everything known to man inside it - be it an umbrella, a hat, or a kitchen sink! Co-stars include Granny Garbanzo, Auntie Macassar (Seasons 1-5), and Major Bedhead, who pops in for visits. And unbeknownst to Loonette, two dustbunnies, Fuzzy and Wuzzy, live under Loonette's couch.

The Big Comfy Couch ran on YTV from 1993-1997. During that stretch, it became a hit on America Public Television. Key to that success was the foresight of John Cherry (former director of Ernest P. Worrell commercials), who has gone on to handle The Big Comfy Couch properties in the United States under what is now called Tadpole Kids.

After five off-years, The Big Comfy Couch returned to production with its sixth series of 13 shows, released in 2003, bringing with it a new character, Uncle Chester. Handling U.S. disribution of the series are American Public Television and Nashville Public Television (Npt). Air dates for Season 6 refer to their initial broadcast on Npt, which had first run of the sixth series.

Canadian viewers can see The Big Comfy Couch on Treehouse (a branch of YTV).

[Episodes are listed in U.S. air order. Although the editor acknowledges that Canada's running order is different, this guide does not reflect such dates.]moreless

Reboot is a Canadian animated show about Sprites that live inside a computer. "I come from the Net--through systems, peoples, and cities--to this place: MAINFRAME. My format: Guardian. To mend and defend--to defend my new found friends, their hopes and dreams, and to defend them from their enemies."

-Bob's narration from the opening sequence of Reboot (Seasons One, Two, and Four)

Welcome to the city of Mainframe, a computer system inhabited by binomes and sprites who go about their business, trying to keep everything running smoothly. Unfortunately, they live under the constant threat of the User, whose games wreak havoc, if left unchecked, and the viruses Hexadecimal and Megabyte, who seek to infect and replace the system core with their own malicious code. That's where Guardian Bob comes in. Armed with his versatile key-tool, Glitch, he tries his best to keep citizens safe, upholding his mandate: "To Mend and Defend".

While ReBoot started as an children's show on ABC, it was later forced to move to other venues, using the increased creative freedom to change its focus towards increased continuity and more intelligent and mature stories during the latter part of the second season. The writers also satirized other TV shows, such as X-Files, as well as video games, such as The Evil Dead, which became something of a "trademark" for the show.

The third season of ReBoot is currently available on 4 DVDs from ADV Films.

Wimzie's House, an educationally entertaining series for preschool kids, premiered on YTV Canada 11 September 1995. Its PBS debut occurred 1 September 1997, after the series' production ended. The series presented the delightful adventures of Wimzie, a playful five-year-old puppet monster; her baby brother, Bo; her parents, Gratziella and Rouso-a bird/airplane pilot and dragon/firefighter, respectively; her lively 150-year-old grandmother Yaya, and her adorable puppet monster friends. Together, they learned skills of caring and sharing at Wimzie's House-a home daycare center unlike any other. Through unforgetable learning adventures and original toe-tapping sing-along songs, young viewers were introduced to topics like friendship, generosity, jealousy, diversity, and sibling rivalry, all from a preschooler's point of view. The award-winning series was created with a renowned team of educational advisors and designed to nurture children's sense of identity, expand their relationships, stimulate their curiousity, and encourage self-expression and self-esteem. Wimzie's House helped children learn to express themselves and communicate with their families and friends. From Yaya's cozy kitchen, where the kids experimented with culinary projects, to the comfortable living room couch where they curled up for naptime, Wimzie's House provided the perfect place to explore both social and family issuesthat children face everyday. The series' characters and setting were just familiar enough for kids to identify with, but different enough to underscore the fact that the action takes place in an enchanted fantasy world of monsters. Wimzie's House was produced for YTV Canada and aired in America as one of PBS's successful shows. While it still airs daily on YTV Canada's offshoot Treehouse, Wimzie's House was removed from PBS September 30, 2001. The real tragedy of the PBS cancellation was that, out of 112 shows, only 85 programs were aired in America. Rupert the Bear was a popular show in the early and mid-nineties. However, the Rupert craze actually began in 1920. When the common British newspaper, "The Daily Express", realized that to actually compete with rival newspapers they would need a children's comic. The owner of the paper, Lord Beaverbrook consulted one of his chief editors, R.D. Blumenfield, about this issue. Blumenfield was having a difficult time devising an appropriate character that would be entertaining for the children yet proper enough to please their parents. One day Blumenfield approached another one of the newspaper's prominent editors, Henry Toutel about his dilemma. Toutel informed Blumenfield that his wife was a relatively well-known cartoonist and children's book writer. Henry told his wife, Mary, about the cartoon project. She was able to create the ideal character for the cartoon, so the "Daily Express" offered her the job of creating the comic. Mary excitedly accepted the offer. The first Rupert comic, titled "The Adventures of a Little, Lost Bear" premiered on November 8, 1920. The cartoon consisted of two drawings with a brief caption beneath them. Mary continued to be the sole creator of the cartoon until 1935, when her eyesight began to fail. At that point Alfred Bestall was appointed as Mary's substitute. His term was to be six weeks, but he crafted the cartoon so excellently, that he was given a permanent position. In 1936 the first of an ongoing annual collection of "The Adventures of a Little, Lost Bear" was published in book form. Bestall continued his role as comic artist and writer until his retirement in 1965, thirty years after he took the temporary job. After Bestall's retirement several other local artists replaced him. Even today Rupert's cartoon is being published daily in the "Daily Express". In 1991, an animated series based on the Rupert, the lead character in "The Adventures of a Little, Lost Bear" was released. The television series had slight variations from the comic, and the series was called "The Adventures of Rupert the Bear" was created. This series focused on the life and trials of young bear named, Rupert. Rupert lived in a magical village with his friends and family. Every episode featured one of Rupert's whimsical adventures. The series was a huge hit in Britain because it was much like the comic, except now Rupert was able to reach a wider audience by way of television. Later, Rupert was shown in the United States on Nickelodeon. The series ceased production in 1997, and is no longer aired in the United States, but it is still very popular in England. Rupert and his friends are positive role models for children, so I am certain that they will continue to reach large audiences through television. Welcome, fellow prisoners, to TV.com Radio Active page! Here you can read and share information with other Radio Active fans. Post in the message board, visit other fan pages, and vote for your favourite episode! The YTV Radio Active schedule is now available on this guide (scroll down to view all the episodes being shown on YTV for the days to come). This series deals a bunch of teenagers in High School (should be in Grade 12 by the end of the third season), who runs a Radio Broadcasts about news around the school, and contains edutainment shows and factors and music. In all three seasons, George Goodwin, Morgan Leigh, Tanya Panda, Blaire Resnickie, Roger Richards, Kevin Calvin, and Ethan St. John faces problems, school work, social stuff just like in reality. CHARACTERS GEORGE GOODWIN: George is a fool and is always unpredictable. A weird teenager who is not aware with what is happening around him. He is always confused and does not understand most things. He has a very strange personality and attitude. The spikey-haired guy that is a master at science and technology, but he only reveals this for a while before he becomes an idiot again. You never know what his grades are in school because all his work that are handed in is different from the others. Likes spending with his uncle Tibby and reading Normal Man comics, and has a very strange reality. No one understands how George does something incredibly ingenious or completely stupid. He one day wants to become a janitor, a quick or snappy dry cleaner, testing mattresses, or a mime. MORGAN LEIGH: The most productive worker at Radio Active, and has a history of very well done shows. She likes to think for herself and is able to help her fellow Radio Active friends with her cleaver ideas. Witty and reliable, she still hates the school system - she thinks that all the work that is given out are useless. She does not like Ms. Atoll but it is always covered up in front of the teacher. She one day hopes to become a film director. TANYA PANDA: A quiet and cautious person who wants to one day become a psychic. The most serious person in the group, she helps the entire group have peace among each other. She loves reading the horoscopes and tried to pursue a psychiatrist career. BLAIRE RESNICKIE: Perhaps the most unintelligent teenager in the school at the moment. Just like Kevin, he is only doing well in sports. He is always looking for new girlfriends and is unaware what they think of him. The competitive jock is born a leader, and wants to carry that through Radio. He has wacky plans that never actually work and he is one of the coolest people in the school. At the end of the series, he can become smart whenever he wants to - just by being hit in the head and can be reversed just by making the same action. ROGER RICHARDS: His ultimate goal is to please others. He believes his criticisms of others are entertaining and cool but everyone knows sooner or later that they too will be at the receiving end of one of his remarks. An intellectual being, he receives good marks while sucking up to Ms. Atoll. A weasel (stated by Tanya using psychiatrical terms), just like Ethan who does anything to get what he wants. KEVIN CALVIN: Incredibly dumb, he still thinks he is very smart compared to the others in his group. He is the captain of the hockey team and also joins other sports team to continue his popularity. He almost never had a chance to date any hot babes roaming the halls of Upper Redwood High, and is determined to please each one so they would go out with him. He has a very big ego, and is referred to as "boss" of Radio Active by Ethan St. John, he is a born leader and his ideas are lame and never work, but at the end, he sometimes make up the damage he has done. ETHAN ST. JOHN: Very concerned about his stocks and bank account, he is the biggest businessman and scam salesman in Radio Active. A big dweeb and suck, he carries his cell phone or pager with him everywhere. He has it with him to communicate with his mother. One of his most respectable shows on Radio Active is "The Stock Report". He wishes to be rich, so he can have lots of money to buy whatever he wants, so he does not need to go around the school selling different objects that do not seem to be whatever he is selling. He sells anything he can get his hands on - anything that is used and do not work at all, food that are not edible, liquids that do not do whatever he says it does, or forging different items. MR. ANGUS NOSEWORTHY: A laid-back vice principal of discipline who is clumsy and has no self-discipline. Miz Atoll is constantly trying to provoke him into action. But he has his own method for running the school and being stern is definitely not part of it. He constantly talks about "when I was your age..." anecdotes that are related to the student's topic but never solves their problem. MS. NOELLE ATOLL: She's a stern, set in her ways literature teacher who's respected by her students. She doesn't want to be responsible for "this self-indulgent mis-adventure in extra curricular activity", but she's been stuck with the job of moderating Radio Active. She does her absolute best to make life as miserable as possible for those foolish enough to sign up for Radio Active. No one ever quite understands what she wants because she sets something for the students to work on, but in her mind, she does not want them to follow her orders so she can send out multiple detentions or see them fail. SARAH LEIGH: Younger sister of Morgan's who constantly annoys/interrupts the group while they are at work. She loves entering the anteroom in the first season because her true love, Kevin is present. She signed up for mail duty multiple times, and glides through the halls with her roller blades to give mail to the students and teachers. She is full of insincere compliments for everyone.moreless

Summary: Monster By Mistake is a computer animated series that tells a tale of enchantment set in a contemporary world. Warren Patterson is an 8-year-old boy with allergies who has been enchanted by a magical jewel from a mysterious parallel world. Because of a spell that goes awry, Warren turns into a 7-foot-tall blue monster whenever he sneezes. He can't return to his normal form until he sneezes again, and it's anyone's guess when that may happen! Warren and his older sister Tracy also have to deal with the wicked Gorgool who wants to steal the jewel and use it for his own evil purposes; as well as the other unpredictable spells emanating from the jewel and its accompanying Book of Spells. Luckily, the kids have the help of their friend Johnny B. Dead, a ghost of a musician who secretly lives in the Patterson's attic. Warren and Tracy's parents are oblivious to all the magical happenings occurring under their roof, which makes for unending comic possibilities. Characters: Warren It's a tough life being a shy 8 year old with allergies. But life just got a whole lot cooler ever since a spell was accidentally cast on Warren Patterson. Now, every time Warren sneezes, he turns into a huge powerful MONSTER! Being a Monster can be a lot of fun. There is no more need to worry about school bullies; you can run really fast and lift huge boulders without breaking a sweat. Of course Warren also needs to control his little...(or rather, big) secret. The only problem is he can't. You see, Warren can only turn into a Monster by Mistake, whenever he sneezes. And because he has bad allergies, it can happen pretty much anytime, anywhere. Warren's very close with his older sister, Tracy. Along, with the ghostly Johnny B. Dead, Tracy helps Warren realize that he doesn't have to be a Monster to be a great person (being the Monster is just a bonus!). Tracy Do you ever wish that you could make your teacher disappear? Tracy Patterson can....well, sort of. One day, Tracy found a mystical gem called the Jewel of Fenrath, and a strange old book called the Book of Spells. Whenever she reads from the book, she casts a spell from the Jewel. The only problem is that she never knows for sure what will happen because The Book of Spells is written in ancient Fenrathian. Every spell is trial and error. Some errors are very big errors, like the time she accidentally turned her parents into ice cream sundaes. Despite the occasional spell gone wrong, Tracy thinks magic is cool. She spends a lot of time trying to master the Book of Spells. Tracy is confident, capable, smart, and tremendously loyal to her monster of a brother. She's full of optimism and curiosity about the world and can also be a little bossy at times (but hey, she's a big sister!). Tracy believes every problem has a solution, if you think about it hard enough, which is good because she casts a lot of magic spells that need reversing! She is valiant and brave and always keeps her cool in difficult situations. Johnny B. Dead Johnny B. Dead is dead....literally. In his former life, he was a trumpet playing jazz musician. Johnny lives in the Pattersons' attic , (shhhhh, it's a secret)...a secret that is hard to keep because Johnny keeps popping up where he doesn't belong. He has a hard time controlling his appetite, which keeps him in the kitchen messing around with the food. He has a hard time holding back from playing the tunes, which causes the strange sounds to resonate from the attic; and he has a hard time being alone, as Warren and Tracy are the first real friends he's had in a long time. Warren and Tracy are always on their toes trying to come up with explanations for crazy noises, floating objects and strange voices that their parents occasionally hear or see. So far, they have been very successful in keeping their ghostly secret, but who knows how long this will be able to continue. Johnny is always cracking lousy jokes and playing cool swing tunes on his horn. He's a true friend and a great guy to have around. Gorgool Gorgool's a sorcerer and the would-be ruler of Fenrath. Long ago, Gorgool was zapped by the Jewel of Fenrath and was magically shrunk and imprisoned in a glass orb, about the size of a soccer ball. A great vortex hurled him from Fenrath into the somewhat boring world of Pickford. This has made Gorgool angry! Very VERY ANGRY!!! He has never been great at anger management, even at the best of times. Now, he plans to steal back the Jewel of Fenrath and The Book of Spells so that he can escape the ball, return to his normal size and rule Fenrath. Somehow, he conned a dim-witted human to be his Servant. The Servant simply has carry Gorgool around and try and get the Jewel and The Book of Spells from Warren and Tracy. Unfortunately for Gorgool, the Servant always seems to find a way to mess things up. Needless to say, it fills Gorgool with rage to be reliant on such a nincompoop. The Servant The Servant is definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. This dim bulb is tall, strong, menacing and extremely clumsy. One day, when The Servant was down on his luck, he found Gorgool in a ball lying on the street. Gorgool promised wealth and power for the Servant if he would help him escape his imprisonment. The Servant believes that if he finds the Book of Spells and Jewel of Fenrath, he will receive a great reward. The Servant clings to that hope and remains pathetically loyal to the bad-tempered super-small guy in the ball. Billy Don't mess with Billy, he's a mean school bully. Billy's hobbies include picking on younger kids and taking stuff that doesn't belong to him. One of his favorite kids to pick on is Warren Patterson. Too bad for Billy, things have changed ever since Warren and Tracy found the Jewel of Fenrath and The Book of Spells. Somehow, every time Billy picks on Warren, a blue monster appears and foils Billy's plans. Billy is sure that Warren is somehow turning into this Monster, but he can't figure out how he does it. He has made it his goal to catch Warren in the act and reveal his secret to the world. Even though he seems like a mean kid, Billy is actually kind of lonely. Nobody likes Billy and the feeling is mutual, but the truth of the matter is that underneath his toughness, Billy just wants to belong. Morgool Morgool is the twin brother of Gorgool, and the ruler of Fenrath. First appeared in episode "Monster On Purpose". Red A resident of Fenrath, she fought against the forces of Morgool. First appeared in episode "Monster On Purpose". Kragon A henchmen of Morgool. First appeared in episode "Keebo for Keeps". Keebo A green ally of Warren and Tracy. The other members of the family are Fred's wife Casey, their other children Tina and Ike, and Harry's wife Idella. Maniac Mansion is a unique blend of the droll humour of the SCTV gang, the zaniness of the LucasArts computer game (on which it was based) and the warmth of a traditional family sitcom. It has been described as everything from "the looniest, sweetest family comedy of the year" (Time Magazine) to "David Lynch on helium" (Daniel Cerone, Los Angeles Times). This was a friendly little nook not far from a heavily-populated area. The characters, all very small by human standards, all learn about environmental harmony through the wisest of them all, Eco. She has the uncanny ability to talk to all nature, is an excellent gardener, and wise storyteller. Her lectures are aimed primarily at Maggie, the energetic jokester, and Galileo, the adventurer. Other principals in Groundling Marsh include Mud/Slinger, a two-headed creature who never stop(s) inventing, and Stacks, a computer Galileo built from unwanted electronic parts. Groundling Marsh was nominated at the 12th Annual Gemini Award for Best Pre-School Program or Series.moreless
