Richard is seeking Door in London Below, trying to find a way to get his normal life back. Meanwhile, Door and De Carabas search her home for clues to the murder of her family. A message in her father's journal tells them to seek the Angel Islington, but first they decide to hire her a bodyguard at the Floating Market. On the way to find them, Richard must cross Night's Bridge where he meets an enigmatic woman and faces the fear of the Night. Croup and Vandemar plot to have a man under their employ become Door's bodyguard.moreless

    • In the scene where Varney is running away from Croup and Vandemar in the tunnels, Varney trips and falls. This was unscripted, and the actor, Nick Holder, actually broke his leg. They had to use that shot however, as it was the only one they had.

    • John Otway's character (the "Fop") was supposed to have a longer screentime and some dialogue. His part was mostly cut due to time, but he can still be seen standing behind Door and de Carabas in the market. He was best known as the singer of the brief English hit, "Cor, Baby, That's Really Free" with Wild Willy Barrett.

    • All of Door's family have names related to doors (for example, her father is Portico, her brother is Arch).
