      • Matt: Stealing someone's home is like stealing the American Dream.
Gus: What about the buyer who pays his hard earned money to buy that American Dream and all he gets is a forged piece of paper. Do you know what I went through to scrape together a down payment?
        Matt: A lifetime.
Gus: And a lot of loans.

      • Sgt. Santos: You guys, you look awful. And you smell awful. Chicken awful.
        Gus: Rooster awful.
Sgt. Santos: Rooster awful, chicken awful. Is there a difference?
Matt: I don't think so, Sarge.
Gus:OK. Well, I hope you've got some clean uniforms in your locker because you're not going out on patrol looking like that! (laughs and walks away)
Matt: He's right though, you do smell awful.

      • Gus: So, you really are trying out for the Centurions (police football team).
        Matt: Yeah. You jealous?
Gus: No. When I graduated from college, I promised myself that I'd never put on a football uniform again.
        Matt: Oh.
        Gus: Mmm.
        Matt: So that's it.
Gus: You know, Matt, you're the only person I ever told about that promise.
Matt: Well, when I was 10 years old, I promised myself I'd never be a cop like my father. So I won't tell about your promise if you won't tell about mine.
