  • new girl backslide

i thought this was another good one the running joke i liked was when jess said that paul had an ugly cry and then his new girlfriend also had that as well who jess calls asian jess and shmidit keeps on getting painful boners which was also really funny overall next week is the season finale so i am looking forward to that
  • A wonderful balanced combination of emotion and humor... loved the episode

Jess is still broken up over her sad breakup with Russell; Paul reveals to Jess that he has a girlfriend after they spend the night together; Nick makes a big decision to move in with Caroline; Schmidt meets Cece's grandma and Winston has a wild night out with his boss. This was a perfect episode of "New Girl". I thought it was a terrific episode to follow-up the season finale and it's got emotion mainly dealing with friendship. There was a lot of humor in this episode as well that just gave me a very good laugh. I enjoyed Justin Long making a return appearance in this episode as Paul who is now marrying a woman named Jen (I believe) but things get complicated when Paul sleeps with Jess BUT Paul wants to be honest with Jen so he tries to come up with a way to tell her without hurting her feelings which will be hard. Schmidt meeting Cece's grandparents at a nursing home was a very nice plot to see as well and I thought Cece's grandparents were so sweet and funny too. Not really into the whole Nick moving in with Caroline thing though but I can easily ignore that. Overall, a perfect episode of "New Girl". 10/10
  • Backslide

Backslide was a perfect episode of New Girl and I really enjoyed watching because there was a lot of character and plot development as Jess revisits getting together with Paul, Nick decides to jump all in with Caroline, and Schmidt meets Cece's grandmother. There was humor, love, and friendship which made for an engaging and entertaining episode. Paul was funny, and him crying was a riot. I loved the Nick Miller DVD made for him if he gets back with her, it was hilarious yet made him realize some things. It was sad to see Jess learn about Nick. I look forward to watching the next episode!!!!!!!!!
  • Jess backslides all the way down the hill and to the parking lot, where she revisits Paul.

Justin Long makes another superb appearance as Paul in the second-to-last episode of Season 1. Schmidt and Winston, who's in the prime of his life but no one cares, warn Jess of backsliding to Russell when she's regretting her decision. However, instead of Russell, she backslides all the way to Paul, who she sleeps with. The next day, the slow-crying Paul admits to Jess that he's engaged to an Asian Jess, or Asian Jen. Paul wants to be honest and it turns out he and Jen are perfect for each other. She's a strange, slow crier as well! He admits he cheated and they both cry, but Jess helps Paul propose to a forgiving Jen who says "yes." But the other storyline, Schmidt is recovering from his broken penis and must avoid anything that could possibly turn him on. So he goes to a nursing home to visit Cece's grandmother with her. And though it starts out well, when Cece begins confessing her true feelings for Schmidt, he gets turned on my the emotional intimacy. Him in pain, while admitting the same to her, was hilarious. And now Nick. Nick has just gone back to his ex, Caroline. Again. What the hell, man? Everyone tries talking him out of it, even Past Nick he watches on a video! However, instead of breaking up with her, Nick announces he's moving in. Everyone, including Jess, is crushed. Although I hate Caroline, this was another great episode which will lead to a great Season 1 finale.
