      The weapon used to murder an Italian immigrant is found when an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed on a West London allotment. UCOS re-opens 25 year old case and the ritualistic way of the killing leads then to one of the other gardeners when it's revealed he is a practising druid. DCI Sasha Miller arrives to replace Det Supt Sandra Pullman.

      UCOS re-opens 17 year old missing person's case of a music student when a photo that features her is found in a charity shop donation bag. Sandra is convinced that it's a work of a serial killer. The team puts their efforts on identifying and finding all the other people on that photo. But when the pressure increases to hand over the investigation, Sanda starts to think about her future and turns to Jack to help make a decision.

      UCOS re-opens an old case of MP's researcher Ben Ransley's death when a dormant offshore bank account containing a lot of money is discovered in his name. He was killed on the evening of Labour's landslide victory and police found a photo of a beautiful blonde in his wallet. The woman was never identified. In the search of this woman Strickland introduces Sandra to a war crimes prosecutor who is very helpful to the case.

      UCOS team are tasked to re-investigate the five year old case of Simon Belgrade's disappearance when his blood-stained identity card is found in Epping Forest.

      The UCOS team reopens a unsolved murder case of pornographer Jim Hockney when his daughter's paternity test reveals that he was not her father. They try to track down the previous suspect for the crime, the victim's girlfriend jazz singer Angela Gold. Recently retired police officer Dan Griffin joins the team as Brian's replacement.

      To keep his mind busy after his dismissal from the UCOS, Brian agrees to help one of Esther's friends to find her missing brother. At the same time UCOS team is trying to track down a conman who may be connected to several outstanding cases.

      UCOS team re-investigates the murder of the young mother whose husband was convicted for her murder after he is released on appeal. Brian thinks his days at UCOS are over.
