I'd like to see Lewis Collins from The Professionals appear in New Tricks.

     Yeah, whatever happened to him?

As much as I like Martin Shaw I'm getting a bit tired of seeing him on T.V. all the time.                     Lewis Collins would make a nice change.

He did make an appearance in a UK comedy series called The Grimleys a few years ago.

How about Diana Rigg or Rachel Ward? Perhaps some French actors (Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert) or Americans (Candice Bergen, Robert Vaughn)? Speaking of Vaughn, I always thought it would be funny if the gang from "Hustle" crossed paths and matched wits with the team from "New Tricks" or some other police show. One can dream right?

How about Diana Rigg and Patrick MacNee in the same episode?

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks things like this.

I'd personally love to see Graeme Garden and Tim Brooke-Taylor, Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles on the show. Preferably paired up that way but I'd take them on the show anyway.

Oh, man... There are so many I could name, but Tom Baker immediately rises to the top of the list, or maybe Peter Davidson.

And I agree, Robert Vaughn would be an outstanding guest star, but I suspect he'd have to have a small story arc, say 2-3 episodes, to really showcase his acting. I could easily see him as a retired NY or Chicago detective who comes to London to close his last case...

But there are also some "younger" actors who I wouldn't mind seeing on the show. Patrick Duffy would make an interesting villain. I could easily see him as an ex-pat American in London. Sienna Miller had her own foray into the police drama in a show called "Keen Eddie". Colin Salmon, if I recall correctly, made his American TV debut in the same series. He'd make an outstanding guest star.

And we haven't even touched those we've seen in the various "Star Trek" franchises...

How about Johnny Briggs as Jack's old flatmate, Ian McShane as a gangster, Malcolm Tierney as a retied cop, Barbara Windsor as one of Jack's ex-girlfriends, John Nettles as a bad guy, Warren Clarke as Brian's brother-in-law, Dudley Sutton as an old pal of Jack's and Leslie Grantham as a bad guy
