Show Summary

The New York Horror Film Festival is a annual scream-fest honoring the greatest horror short films created in recent memory. The show brings together some of the greatest classic horror film creators with some of today's newest up and coming talent. Beginning in 2002, the New York Horror Film Festival has given out an annual Lifetime Achievment Award to one renowned horror filmmaker. This great honor has been received by filmmakers such as Robert Englund, George Romero, Roger Corman and Herschell Gordon Lewis. The festival is held during the month of October in a Halloween tradition that you should not miss. Throughout the month there are special screenings, themed parties, celebrity guests and free giveaways. The New York Horror fest showcases independent and studio horror movies side by side to create an awareness of new and exciting filmmakers while paying respect to those bringing the genre to larger audiences. The festival is very competitive usually screening between fifty and sixty films each year with nine bringing home awards.moreless
