I haven't watched the series in a very long time, in fact since it was first canceled and taken off the air I haven't seen it, so when I came across the channel TVone and saw that they showed it I DVR'd it and watched this episode. I usually only like to watch a series in order, but I thought, what the hell?

I really enjoyed this episode, it blended together two great stories, while keeping the focus on the main story and never losing grip on what's going on. The performances by the cast is really well played, its hard to believe this show was canceled, its one of those few shows that are blunt about how it really is.

We forget that there wasn't always 5 Law & Order shows on at the same time, this aired when all we had was the original L&O, and Homicide: Life on the Street. Although, NYPD Blue was a great alternative show, I'd say this went further in proving how the just system is both good and flawed. The ending was a surprise and made you really mad.

The side story of the young daughter wanting to talk with her mom, I see as more of a setup for a future episode, but at least it establishes the fact that they have connected. I still have to watch more to memorize names and stuff, but this is definitely a series I will be watching, maybe even getting on DVD.moreless
