    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • In the scene right after Joe disappears using his "old Green Beret trick", Dave enters his office actively looking for Joe before Joe appears from "nowhere". In the bottom right hand corner of the screen, you can see Joe's back hiding behind Dave's desk, and even see him start to stand up, in plain sight of Dave.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Bill: I'm... well, I'm hurt... deep down... where I'm soft... like a woman.

      • Joe: Hey look, I don't care what you say about me, but making fun of alien technology is just stupid.

      • Dave: Joe, I didn't hear you come in.
Joe: It's an old Green Beret trick.
Dave: You were a Green Beret?
Joe: No, I read a book called "Old Green Beret Tricks."

      • Dave: I said, "And then there's our station owner, the logic-impaired hayseed who uses the station as his own personal dating service."

      • Matthew (about Dave): He referred to me as a "walking technician," I don't even know what that means.
Beth: It's over here, that's "walking technical difficulty."
Matthew: Well, I don't know what that means either.
Beth: It just means you screw everything up.
        Matthew: Oh, well, that's fair.

    • NOTES (1)

      • The end credits sequence features outtakes of Andy Dick and French Stewart's Break Room scene where they compliment each other on their weirdness.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Jimmy: You hand out more letters of apology than Union Carbide.

This is an allusion to the infamous Bhopal Disaster. On December 3, 1984, a Union Carbide plant in Bhopal leaked 40 tons of toxic methyl isocyanate gas, which killed more than 3 thousand people outright and injured anywhere from 150,000 to 600,000 others. It has been called the worst industrial disaster in history.
