While most people were going Lady GaGa over Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings vs. the Green Bay Packers today I was much more interested in this game, the Oakland Raiders vs. the San Diego Chargers. How would the Raiders respond after coming so close to beating them last time? How would JaMarcus Russell do? Would the Chargers be able to move closer to overtaking the AFC West?
The game was fun and the Raiders gave a good effort, but it is clear at this juncture that with Russell at quarterback this team is going nowhere. They have some weapons. We all know about Shane Lechler and Sebastian Janikowski and Richard Seymour, but Michael Bush and Zach Miller are underrated talents as well. This team could have made the playoffs if they kept Jeff Garcia around, but oh well.
