  • Wow, Wow, Wow

Well, that ended up in a rout. The Kings penalty killing was phenomenal and when New Jersey couldn't score on that 5-on-3 in the first period, it seemed it was all over. Again, New Jersey played a terrific first period and certainly deserved better than a scoreless tie, but as has been the case all playoffs long, the Kings scored on their chances and the Devils failed on theirs.

New Jersey's power play woes finally caught up with them and when the L.A. power play came out of hibernation, it was really all over. The analysts agree that the Kings have broken the Devils' spirits with this win. I guess we'll find out in two nights if that's true.

Somehow, it feels inevitable because the Kings are on one of the most impressive payoff runs in the history of the National Hockey League.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

  • QUOTES (3)

    • New Jersey Left Winger Zach Parise: We felt like the way we were playing, we were going to get one, but it just didn't happen. It's frustrating when everyone has been playing well, and we find ourselves down three-nothing.

    • Los Angeles Right Winger Justin Williams: We're obviously not going to be stone-faced if we do something we've been waiting our whole lives for. We're going to keep pushing forward. We're a focused group right now. We're not going to let anything get in our way. We certainly don't want to get back on that plane (to New Jersey for Game 5).

    • Los Angeles Defenseman Drew Doughty: I don't think we're too surprised. We know we have a great team in here. Before this game, it easily could have been 2-0 for them. It is a tight series, but at the same time, we are really confident with the team we have in here.
