It's like an Asian version of Dora the Explorer.

I'm glad that a show like this is on the air. There are too many shows that teach children spanish, but none that teach a different language, and chinese is one of the hardest to learn. This is a fun way for children to learn a language they wouldn't otherwise be exposed to.

I consider the Dora comparison unfair. The series really seems more like a mix of Sagwa, Blue's Room and JoJo's Circus. The series is... reasonably decent, but could do from taking a break in the constant action once in a while.

i truely think that it really is an asian version of dora the explorer. like kai-lan sings the "we got it" song like dora sings the "we did it" song. plus kai-lan has friends that are animals (the animals whos names i do not remember) and a human family figure (ye ye--her grandpa). dora has friends that are animals also and her human family figure is her cousin diago and her parents.

also, there's the clothing style of both dora and kai-lan. they both wear orange pants and their shirt colors are colors that dont clash well with orange. (such as blue and purple) I KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT KIDS SHOWS I HATE IT.

Dora repeats everything fifty million times and then some. This show doesn't do that.

Dora's shorts ARE orange, but Kai-lan's are two types of orange but in a stripe pattern.

    Characters:

    Rintoo (Rin - Two) Tiger
    Tolee (Toe - Lee) Koala
    Hoho - Little Monkey
    Lulu - Rhino with Balloon
Sonson (Son - son) Ant Leader

Yeah I know there're way too many shows that try to teach Spanish, heck i'll be tickled pink if there was a kids show that taught Portuguese(which i'm learning now),Tagalog or Korean(don't ask). But I give this show a double thumbs up for exposing kids to a major Asian language.

For what it's worth, Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat also taught Chinese, and even showed the characters painting Chinese characters.

I just watched this show cause I am sick from skool 2day (I have the stomach virus). At first, I thought the show was stupid because it was 4 little kids, but then I saw Rintoo. He is the cutest tiger ever! I even made an icon with him! Then I felt sad because every1 was leaving him out. That got me mad. But I need 2 say... the show is okay...

I like the show very much. it has very a "feel good" atmosphere with kai-lan not just being happy almost all the time but also with her looking at the perspective of her friends who are not happy( and helping them be happy again).i hope they come up with an episode helping kids cope with having a new sibling. their teaching chinese is very effective as my little is now able to say chinese with correct accents.

Yay! Finally some more Mandarin educational programs! If it gets my little one to learn conversational Mandarin, then that's totally worth it.

I have just started watching it, but I love it very much, because I am learning both Mandarin Chinese & Japanese.

Kai-lan is a beautiful character, so much so, that I have adopted her into my heart.

I don't mind if people flame me for this.

I really like the show. Both my daughter and my preschoolers love to show. Nihao has become one of hello words, so daily we greet each other in English, Spanish, and Chinese. I think show that teach different languages and cultures are a must to have on T.V.
