In a cellar, an elderly man sits in a rocker while his wife puts up a wall of bricks between them and insists that it's for her own good. She makes sure that he's comfortable and tells him not to worry. In a little bit it will be all over. The wife talks about once the doctors tell you it's over, there's no sense in sitting around waiting for the pain. She reminds him that they agreed that it's for the best, and once the wall is sealed he can lean back and relax, and the air will run out.
As she places the last brick, the wife assures him that they'll always be together. She finishes the wall and tells him to just think of the good things. The husband rocks back and forth in the darkness until the doorbell rings. He knocks on the wall and tells his wife that there's someone at the front door... and then goes upstairs to answer it. The husband promises that he'll be back as soon as he sees who it is.
