  • With apologies to the viewers, too.

Someone really should have restrained the makers of "Night Gallery" from the destructive habit of including tiny little "comic" episodes which didn't feature any kind of gallows humour, but simply made infantile jokes. I've read somewhere that they were the despair of series creator Rod Serling; but producer Jack Laird must have been fond of them, as he seems to have written a good many of them, as well as directing a handful. Here, he even turns up as an actor, playing the Ygor-like laboratory assistant who receives from Dr. Jekyll an all-too-predictable, and entirely unfunny, punchline. Was Adam West desperate for work after "Batman" was cancelled?
