Season 3, Episode 11 – Flashback. How Kevin Frank and first became partners. Flashback itself is a flashback to a time six years before or four years prior to the show airing, which was the time when Kevin's partner and Nikki's husband, Tony Rimbaud, was killed.

Unknown - When Whitey arrives at the station to ID a suspect, Terry asks Frank about the reliability of informants. Frank says that it depends on the relationship they have with the informant. The flashback is a humorous scene in which Whitey is arrested. After some time of playing along, Kevin and Frank finally tell the officers that Whitey is one of the good guys.

Season 3, Episode 12 – Tell Me a Story. The second story of Frank shooting someone, A man is holding a suspect, now cleared of wrongdoing, over a wall and threatening to drop him to his death if Frank doesn't shoot him. Frank does shoot the man, but also manages to save the other person.

Season 2 Episode 15 – Pride and Prejudice. Colby and Freddie on a stakeout at a park. Freddie, who accidentally spills coffee all over himself, heads to the restroom to clean up. While there, he gets attacked by the suspect with a tire iron. Freddie had his resignation typed up after the incident.

Season 2 Episode 15 – Pride and Prejudice. In hospital recovering from the beating, Freddie questions his motivations for joining the force. He was following in his father's footsteps and Colby reminded him that it was he who chose and earned the job, not his father or last name.

Season 1, Episode 23 – Fire and Ice. Colby makes an off-hand remark that sometimes it's easier to talk to your partner than your family. When Terry presses him for details, he tells her the story, but only off the record. Colby's brother was involved in a jewelry heist in which five people were killed and he was done with him. Eventually, because he is family, Colby helps out. He says his brother "put him through a lot of changes."

Season 3, Episode 14 – The Pimp. Terry asks Christine what it's like to work with the men at the precinct. She says she is there to give a different view. In the scene, Christine goes with a mother, Mrs. Kozak, to look for her daughter who has run away to the big city and gotten involved in its underbelly. Lt. Hogan makes a point of telling Terry that Christine is there for the same reason everyone else is - she gets her business done.

Season 2, Episode 12 – The Hit. When asked about the prevalence of drugs in their work, Kevin and Frank recount the story their friend and vice detective Dave Jefferson, who was targeted by a killer. But Dave left shortly before the gunman arrived and a random individual, who sat in the seat Dave had just vacated, is shot.

Season 2, Episode 12 – The Hit. When the subject of partners comes up, Kevin tells the story of Jefferson, who kept things hidden from his partner because she was wrongly suspected of being a dirty cop.

Season 1 Episode 7 – Deadlock. When Terry suggests that the precinct is the only safe place due to all the crime in the area, Lt. Hogan tells her that that's not always the case. He recounts the story of Stevie being taken hostage at gunpoint inside the precinct. Lt. Hogan's wife and son were in the precinct at the time. Lt. Hogan's son was shot and he could do nothing about it. (Two scenes)

Season 4, Episode 18 – Ice. Elaine recounts a tense moment in her relationship with the Lieutenant when she went into court without information vital to a case she was prosecuting. Frank had neglected to tell her and she takes it out on the Lieutenant.

Season 4, Episode 18 – Ice. In a second scene from the same show, Elaine is sharing how difficult it was for her, as a woman, to get through law school and establish herself as a good prosecutor; how she put career ahead of family and relationships. In tears, she shares that with a case falling apart, her career being threatened and her boyfriend demanding she choose him or the job, she looked inside for something away from work to hold on to and found nothing. Lt. Hogan acknowledges her hard work and tells her that running away won't solve anything and that when she meets the right man, she'll know it. For his efforts, he gets a kiss on the cheek and comments that it's the first time that he's been kissed by a prosecutor!

Season 3, Episode 11 – Flashback. As the Kevin and Frank head off to Nicole's for a party, they invite Terry to come along. At the bar, he tells the story of how he first met Nikki, who was married to Tony, Kevin's partner at the time. They are very much in love and Tom is an alcoholic. Terry comments that a lot of memories were started.

Season 3, Episode 11 – Flashback. Nicole tells her some ended there and we are shown the scene where Tony is shot and killed.

Season 4 Episode 6 – Blowing Bubbles. The whole squad arrives at Nicole's and Nikki shares the story of when she told Kevin she was pregnant when he was at the bar. In a second scene back at Nikki's apartment, the couple talks about her pregnancy.

Season 1 Episode 21 – The Source. At the party, Kevin tells Terry to save some space for Tom, who despite not having a badge and a gun, has had his adventures. In the flashback, Kevin rescues a punch-drunk Tom, whose attempt at getting a killer to confess to his crimes almost costs him his life.

Season 1 Episode 21 – The Source. From the same episode, Kevin points out to Tom that they too had challenges in dealing with him. The flashback is a tense scene in Elaine's office with Tommy refusing to divulge his source and Elaine saying they have no case without him doing so.

After this last vignette Terry Hammer says she has a great story and hopes that publishing it will help save the precinct.
