The genesis of Nightline occurred after Iranian fundamentalists seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979. With several Americans taken hostage, ABC News president Roone Arledge conquered the airspace after affiliates' late news for a daily report called America Held Hostage. Before that crisis was seven months old, Arledge renamed the program Nightline, a fixture on ABC ever since, devoting itself to a single story each night.

Nightline doesnt seem to falsely cater to young or midlife. They cover whats big and cheesy!-- always getting to the real real motivation within people. Terry Moran's show on his father was heartfelt without manipulation. I dont know how they accomplish such excellent stories, but the new production staff makes every show a worthwhile, fascinating and UNPREDICTABLE ride. I am not so happy that there isnt a bit more attn to such a highly rated show in this forum. Give it a shot... stay connected in an intelligent and fun ride on NIGHTLINE.

Great show post-Koppel even

I am glad that the show is getting much better

Though it will take time to get used to

Not having the origial host Ted Koppel there

ABC has done a great job of putting three hosts

From their own point of view

Which I love the more instead of just one person

Glad that they have kept Chris Bury and John Donvan, the two best Nightline correspondents

Love the show and it is much better than

Leno & Letterman combined IMHO

Keep up the good work ABC News!moreless
