  • Trivia

    • In the scene in which Ricky Nelson is being driven through town on top of "Mustang Sally", the car keeps switching between having a hubcap on the front driver's side tire and not having one. The only time we see the car actually lose a hubcap is a few scenes later when it runs into the bus, and we see a hubcap roll off in the dust.

  • Quotes

    • Mary: Clark, I said okay that doesn't change how I feel.
      Clark: Okay.
Mary: So you'll have to excuse me if I decline to put my cheerleading skirt on and yell "Go Clark Go."

    • Alan Freed: Let's go…because rock and roll will never die!
Mary: That's what I'm afraid of.

  • Notes

    • Differences from the story: the brief stop at the diner, Mary seeing them as aged, and the tree blocking the road.

    • As the Willinghams becomes lost on the way to Heaven, one-liner after one-liner tossed between them are song lyrics from 60s and 70s rock songs.

  • Allusions

    • Clark: It's not some Tolkien Fantasy.

J.R.R. Tolkien was the author of the epic novel, The Lord Of The Rings which is set if a fantasy world, and based around a long journey. The book was made into three movies in the early 2000s.

    • As Mary and Clark arrive in town, Mary remarks at how the town reminds her of an episode from The Twilight Zone.

    • The title comes from a line from the Righteous Brothers' song "Rock and Roll Heaven". The town in the episode gets its name from the same source.
