I really enjoyed this episode...both times! I picked up little nuances I had been laughing through the first time. I love that Hollywood is the new villain, and the way Ryan Murphy has seamlessly layered the laughter with a dark premonitions. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!

    Hearts and Scalpels IS Nip/Tuck

    Aiden Stone IS Julian McMahon

We all know Freddie is Ryan.

    Too damn funny!!

Too damn telling! Yikes and away! Can't wait till the next episode!

My hat is off to Ryan Murphy and a big heartfelt thank you to cast and crew!

The show has lost all credibility ...and spark

Since Season 3.....I have been wonderingwhat the hell was going on.

I was wondering if anyone here could enlighten me on this one.

The girl who played the actress playing Cha-Cha lips, was she not the same girl from Season One, lovingly referred to as Batgirl by Christian? The one with the mud flaps?

    Did they not recognize her?

Or was this another ploy to merge the Hollywood with real life (LOL), thus bringing up the whole nicknaming of patients?

It was weird to see Christian not being the star. The whole reason Sean left Miami was because Christian seemingly had everything;a fiance, a son, the star of the medical practice. Now Sean is in the limelight. He's getting everything he wants.

    It's been changing and evolving.

It's weird, because I was thinking the same thing about S4 -- I liked it but I didn't love it like I had in the past. But I do like the idea of everyone picking up and starting over.

I wish they could've kept Danny Strong (the short surgical resident Sean encountered when he first moved to L.A.) He played Jonathan in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Anyway, Strong's got a great sense of character and is a lot of fun anywhere he shows up.

And it might be the same actress but it's clearly a different character, because even if they didn't recognize her, she'd recognize them, so ...

No, she's never been on Nip/Tuck before.

Happy to see you back around TJ. Missed ya, buddy. But it looks like it's just me, you, and the new crew. Meg and Dez are unaccounted for (Beef got permanently banned). :\

I liked the idea of the new season, the new direction, and the new character developments. I did think this episode was sort of slow, but then again I could barely hear any of it because I watched it with my fraternity. So...maybe I'll catch a repeat and feel better about it.

Agreed. I think the only episode that really made me LOL was the one where Sean dresses up as Santa. I like S5 a lot more because it was a change from the previous one, like a breath of fresh air.

One or two. There's a dom and sub, and then Christian and an actress. Those are the ones I'm remembering offhand.

Great to see you too, Jace! Glad you found a place to watch it.

You didn't rush just to have access to FX, did you?

LOL let's not answer that question. I don't want to get in trouble with my brothers. ;]

JK but no apparently the fraternity I rushed has a pretty decent obsession with Nip/Tuck, which I found out yesterday, so I feel like I picked the perfect place. :]

So not a lot of positivity?

Damn, I was hoping that people would be raving about it.
Ah well, I might still like it. 'Momma Boone' wasn't very popular either but I loved it.

It's interesting to see that despite his protests and missing his family Sean seems to be the one who is going to be seduced by Hollywood. Christian, who was so eager to be part of that world is already struggling in the episode one. That's something I didn't expect.

I loved the premire! The social commentary seems to be shifting more towards the Hollywood dream which is just as pertinent.

Some things I've been wondering, could anyone clear them up for me? Jennifer Collidge was hilarious! Are the characters played by her and Bradley Cooper (Aidan) supposed to be bad actors? Aidan was really over the top in all the Hearts and Scalpels scenes. Also, why did Freddy ask the cameraman to turn away from Christian? I didn't catch his line.

Interesting that there were so many homoerotic scenes between Sean and Christian in this episode. I think this one has been the most suggestive yet. Are they just giving a nod to the gay audience or is this something they plan on developing this season?

I was glad to see that Christian took along Wilber for the move. But he was the one acting like a big baby...he just couldn't let Sean have even a little bit of the spotlight. I almost thought for a second that he had feelings for the ladygetting the face lift. Then he goes to bieng his usual self and completly crushed her confidence. I felt sorry for her. I was also glad to see Liz. What I heard from a Nip/Tuck interview was that everyone else from the cast was going to migrate their way to L.A. and that Julia has become a lesbian. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season!

I think the first two episodes are terrific! I love Lauren Hutton's character and she gets some great scenes in the second episode. Los Angeles is a perfect new backdrop for all the characters and has completely revitalized everything I've liked about the show.
