    • During the interrogation at the police station, Matt reveals that he wanted to go to Paris in order to see Ava again. Why would he want to pick up a ticket that had expired the day Ava went away?

    • They wanted Kiki to mate to see if she could pass on the language skills she had learnt to her offspring. They say they were fearful that the mate she picked, Kumba, may kill her because of her scar. Well why didn't they just use artificial insemination, then Kiki could have conceived without the risk of Kumba attacking her.

  • Quotes

    • Ava: (to Matt) At least I have the courage to be who I am. Do you?

    • Erica: (to Matt) Enjoying anal stimulation doesn't make you a homosexual. Are you worried you might be?

    • Erica: We're all terrible mothers. You go into the enterprise expecting your child to be a better version of yourself and then the little bastards turn out to have souls all their own, destinies to be fulfilled, dreams and desires that have nothing to do with us or our DNA.

    • Ava: (to Matt) Are you man enough to make up your own mind about what pleases you?

    • Erica: (to Matt) Listen to me. I don't care what kind of sex you have or with whom. But if you're so appalled by your own feelings that you deny their existence, they'll run your tight little ass for the rest of your repressed middle-brow life. Do you want a safe life or an authentic one?

    • Liz: Did you Google me or what?
Quentin: An attractive woman like you must get Googled all the time.

    • Christian: What is it with you and this animal?
Liz: She is an outcast from her tribe, and she is suffering because of it. I know what that feels like.
Christian: Ok, I just want to point out that it was you who compared yourself to a gorilla, not me.
Liz: You think you've got nothing in common? She's gonna be attacked and killed, and you can't relate to that?

    • Dr. Forsythe: (Talking about the gorilla) She knows she's different... imperfect in some way.
Christian: She could use a little lip gloss.

    • Christian: There's really no point in having a consultation without the patient present.
Dr. Forsythe: (puzzled, as her "client" is a Mountain Gorilla) She's a gorilla.
Sean: (misunderstanding) Well, I'm sure you're exaggerating.

    • Christian: Look. Maybe Kumba can see past Kiki's scar, to her "inner beauty" -- Maybe he's not a shallow bastard like the rest of us.
Dr. Forsythe: Don't be so hard on yourself. Beauty attracts to preserve the species. In evolutionary terms, Dr. Troy, all males are bastards.

    • (While smoking pot together, Erica and Julia discuss Erica's mothering talents)
Erica: Turns out I didn't do such a bad job after all.
Julia: You mean compared to me?
Erica: No, I mean evidenced by you.
