  • Mireille faces off against an old acquaintance when Noir tackles the Mafia.

The last two episodes of Noir have had more to do with Kirika, so it's only fitting that this two-part episode of Noir focus on Mireille's character. Bits and pieces of her past have fluttered by in past episodes, but this is the first time we see a real ghost from her past.

Noir's place a lot on the line by taking a job to kill a Mafia Don, all to get a contract that mentions "Les Soldats." The job goes off smoothly enough, but then goes haywire when Noir attempts to collect the contract. The killing of the Don attracted the attention of a Mafia princess Mireille knew as a child. The idea of tangling with her again really freaks Mireille out, which I didn't even think was possible!

This was a really great episode, and it once again showed that while Noir may be talented, they're not inhuman, and they can fall victim to a multitude of emotions, as we've seen in the past few episodes. The Noir storyline keeps getting better and better!moreless

    • Mireille: They call themselves the Cosa Nostra
The Cosa Nostra (Our Thing) originated in Sicily- the original intent to protect land soon being superseded by various criminal activities. This mafia organization lived by a strict code of rules called omerta - violation of these rules led to death (in the episode Silvana killed her father for breaking the code of silence). These days the name Cosa Nostra is associated with the Italian-American mafia. The organization is divided into families (such as the Intoccabile's Greone family).
